Funny. You recognize the stuart, but dont mention SdKFZ 222 or Jagdpanther ?? Or you see a coat and dont wonder about THAT ?

Yes, of course it is 1.71.... OF models also do work there... with some difficulties,
f.e. vehicles crew doesnt show up, which ends up in priest or hummel firing on its own... looks a bit ridculos but the best solution until the 2.2 version...

Well thats disappointing... I love the new vehicle and infantry skins, i guess i'll have to experiment with having vCoH and OF installed (and consequently hogging up my HD), so i can give this a try, which is just as well that this is releasing on the 12th, as it'll probably take me that long to get a vCoH and OF installs working fully and seperately.

Question: So we can expect this to be around the 350mb mark? Yikes! Guess it'll be closer to Christmas by the time i play this then!

we cannot confirm a time, although i am working my hardest on getting the version for OF up and running (i work rather fast.) However, Halftrack wants to hear the communities feedback from 1.71, and dependinding on that, we may make changes for the OF version. I can safely say that i have done by now all the Axis units at the structures, next i will be doing the allies, and last the doctrine abilities. I will keep you updated.

  12. #112
You should have a new feature in this mod... limited movement for the German tanks as they run low on fuel ;-)

Will you be improving all the hull and co-axial MGs on all the tank to make them more realistic or just going to leave them as for balance reasone?

-great mod btw cant wait for the OF update

what do you mean improving? like, buffing their damage? the answer is probably no; we want to keep the damage system like vanilla.

I like the timing. The Battle of the Bulge started on Dec. 16th, so the release date comes very close to the anniversary. Oh, LD, I bet the vast majority of COH players are from the Northern Hemisphere so it will be the winter season for most of us. Again, great timing guys! Really looking forward to playing this.

Yeah, thinking of it that way, it is good timing. Lets just hope we won't have to wait till the 2008 Anniversary for the OF compatable version (knowing our luck it'll be just when OF gets balanced, and when Relic declares they're going to release another expansion which'll totally break the game all over again.

@Agen X: Thats of course true...

I havent thought of that yet, honestly, but of course, December 16th would be the perfect date for the release.

Oh i have another question; ill just the new shermans as an example, you have like 4 or 5 types will you have different models for each or just the long and short barrle models from vcoh with winter skins? this go for other stuff as well.

Shermans are quite difficult... as we have only two models, long- and short-barreled,
    but four types ( M4A3, M4A3E8, M4A3/76, M4 105 ) they distinguish from each other
mostly by the skins... but I think it works quite well... models would be better though.

Same as M10 and M36... they use the same model, but with different texture.

the Germans use the Stug IV model also for Jagdpanzer IV... different skin of course.

for most of the other stuff, we either have working models, or improvise a little...

The Panzerwerfer42 f.e. is a mixture of 251 Halftrack and Calliope rocket launcher
Or the Wespe SPA uses Marder Model.

I have read all four of his books, multiple times and enjoy his personal accounts of the war. Have you read the other three books by him? Yes, the pictures do help to describe what he went through. Well I'll just go back into hiding

  29. #129
I haven't read all of his books, because some were compiled into one.
I have got: ''The beginning: D-Day'' and ''The road to Arnhem'' compiled in one book (book about training had the same amount of info in that book so not necessary)
I am reading ''Seven roads to hell'' now and after I finished that (too bad there comes an end to cool books...) I will be reading ''Over the Rhine''.

Well, personal accounts help paint a better picture of the war compared to historical fact books. Being a reenactor, I tend to read first hand account or talk with the ex-service personal to get an understanding that is supported by the facts. Well good luck on your reading, enjoy the Over the Rhine it has lot's of little chuckles in it, especially around May 8th. Well just to keep on topic, Can't wait to try out the Bulge looks cold and crisp.

  31. #131
    On topic: can't wait

Off topic: hmm..They find that camp right? (With the female tied down and that sort of stuff) My teacher recommended me these books and he has read all of them...^^ (Cool teachers do exist...But he doesn't teaches me anymore )

  32. #132
hey if you ever want a GERMAN accout of ww2, from poland 1939 to germany and the eastern front 1945 then check out SVEN HASSLE's books, they are VERY descriptive and BRUTUAL. No pictures, but they have good descriptions of the weapons and vehicles, and experiecens of them in the books, might be worth checking them out ^^.

Good luck with the mod cant wait.

Hey boys ever heard of the "BRITISH FREE CORPS", these where british soldiers recruited form POW camps who fought for the German third reich during WW2. There Strength never capped more than 27, however they wore the usual m36 uniform with a union jack on the right sleve. Ever though of incorporating them into your mods?
    Thanks pop

May I suggest such as removing the occulusion to show off more of the complexion/authenticity of the skins?

Congrats on finally making it. (Atleast when its ready)

At the first page under Armored Division it says that there is a Sherman 76.2mm and a Sherman E8.
They are the same tanks ^^ Sherman M4A3E8 (aka Easy Eight) had a M1A1C 76.2mm High Velocity gun. (Just mentioning it :P) Can't wait for the mod to come out

Edit: Maybe a suggestion for the OF version, what if at the end when you get air support, you can also call in gliders?
They were dropped when the C-47's could fly above Bastogne.
They contained either medics or important supply's (ammo, food etc etc)

they had the same gun, right, but suspension system (HVSS) was much different, which
made the easy eight more mobile, especially in terrain.

  45. #145
But how do you want to put that in game? By skinning parts or something like that?
