    Appreciate the hotfix and your honesty.

    Discovered the repair truck doesn't repair. Am I missing something"? Or is there a way to get it to work?

    Noticed the AI doesn't build armor. And without the ability to repair armor, as it stands the game has become an infantry only game.

    Even with those limitations, it still has enough interesting variations to make it a fun mod.

    the repair-truck won't repair for itself. you have use the pios inside manually. but the pios will repair faster when their repair-truck is nearby.

    Can I still play this mod on Skirmish mode if I upgrade above 2.301??

    I want to upgrade so I can play Blitzkrieg and Normandy 44, but I don't want to lose this mod.....



    EDIT: Decided to upgrade. I wanted to try Blitzkrieg and Normandy 44. I didn't like Normany44, but Blitz was decent.


    Still, WHEN is this one going to be compatible with 2.6!! AHHHHHHH!?!?!

    does anyone here know how to make crewed AT guns crushable? i got it to work empty guns, but tanks won't crush crewed ones. now that this mod is mostly inactive, i want make other mods like this one.

    This mod needs to become active again. I wish someone who knows how would take this thing over and update it. It's by far the best mod for this game....better than Blitz or N44.

    You can do it yourself, the problem is it takes time.
    You need to update the module, .ucs file, racebps, some ebps/sbps and a ton of more things.
    Thereby the custom sounds won't work, unless you make new ones yourself (or ask Xalibur if you can use his).
    And since they edited SCAR files, you will have to remake those too.

    Bugs or features?

    Why do scouts insta-teleport to buildings when I click their ability while en route to a building? It's a great mobility cheat for capping, ambushes and defence. At least you can only get 3 squads.

    Why are some German artillery pieces able to (right-click) attack with their main gun giving a devastating constant barrage? The 3 culprits are Wespe, Maultier, and amazingly the heaviest mortar of all Sturmtiger (although it has a very long reload). No need to pay ammo most of the time.

    Also the German ability that gives 400 Fuel for 1 xp as it says in the tooltip, seems to cost 250 ammo instead of 1 xp and it makes your manpower income go very low for some time (may increase ammo and fuel income for same time a bit though), weird.
    In contrast the other German tree has an ability that gives income increase (all 3 types) for 350 ammo seems to have some sort of stacking effect, cause at the end of some 4v4 skirmishes I had insane incomes (especially ammo and fuel).

    Thanks for the mod. I'm having lots of fun with it! Is there any way to increase the max zoom out of the camera? I use the camera zoom out mod for normal CoH, can I insert that in BoB? Also I seem to be destroying all my AT gun (and crews), running them over with my own vehicles (friendly fire?). Any tips to avoid that?

    Does not work...

    I thought I would try this mod out as it was a suggestion from others at the NHC mod. I have no problem playing NHC mod 1.4d however once I installed BotB 2.3(latest I can find) it will not even start up... I have all patched up to ToV so maybe this is why? Any help? I must play with the Strumtiger!!!

    Not 2.5 compatible, or anything higher. ToV patched fully is 2.6.

    Check post #2029 for a link to a hotfix. Doesn't make the mod perfect - the computer AI will not build armor. But at least it enables you to play the mod with 2.6.

    PS: I tried using the -dev command (in the shortcut) but it seems to load the default CoH and not the mod. So I guess that doesn't work with mods, does it?

    is what the auto-installer of BotB gave me. I tried the -dev command on that.

    (At least I can use the commands I want in skirmishes without -dev; like setsimrate(x) for the speed controls that the official game is sadly missing and there's always pause, but no fog_toggle)


    PS: pojarsma the pathing is bad so it's hard to avoid accidental destruction some times. Also my (CPU) allies do it to me too. I just find it an unwise decision on the part of this excellent mod's designers.


    EDIT: Apparently there's a camera lua in the BoB directory and I changed it with the one from the zoom out mod and it works. I also added the file WW2Data_camera.sga for good measure (was that even needed?).
    BTW, why is one of the enemy CPU players (in my 4v4) a stupid black colour that makes its text invisible? Where do I change that? And can I make the white circles around fallen weapons appear again, because that bit of realism is getting on my nerves lately

    EDIT2: I think the offending color was pewter (170,170,170) and I will try removing it from BotB's teamcolours.lua; hope that works.

    Sadly no. I cut/paste the command line right from the shortcut on my desktop. All I can say is that it works for me.

    I'm getting unexpected end of archive with the rar hotfix. Can you upload it to mediafire?
    Tried downloading from botb.fiffa.net and here, with IE, firefox, chrome. Non worked. The rar files seems to be screwed, it might be something with attaching it.
    I'd suggest uploading to mediafire/rapidshare/megaupload etc.

    @simanos try changing the target from botb.exe to and i am presuming that you havnt updated your company of heroes to a version higher than 2.301

    I still can't fix the stupid team colour for some reason...

    Anyway, no one commented on the teleporting scouts and the free German artillery. I'm guessing the scout thing is an engine bug, but the arty thing is a feature, since it's easily fixable?

    no, arty was a bug too, it was fixed for a later version, which never came out due to incompability with CoH 2.5 (ToV)

    The scout bug honestly was unknown to me.

    I see. I was having so much fun abusing the arty bug in skirmish vs 4 CPUs
    The scout teleport thing is so much fun. It even works on heavy weapons (mortar, AT-gun, HMG). You can teleport and pick them up in an instant from far away. You lose the scout squad of course since it has 3 members and all are used up to crew the weapon.

    I noticed a weird thing with the ability Counter Battery.
    I built an allied howitzer (105) and I killed a few Germans with it to get vet1 and then I used Counter Battery and it started firing on many targets on its own nearly all the time (I noticed it cause it got vet3 pretty fast on its own). Isn't Counter Battery supposed to fire only on enemy artillery when that fires at you? It fired upon enemy artillery when sighted (no need to be fired upon) and it also fired on many other enemy units (but not all), weird.
    I built all 4 allowed howitzers and it was great fun ;-)

    EDIT: Oh and any ideas on my problem with team colours?

    Is this Ever going to get fixed to 2.6?? I don't think I want to play CoH without this mod.

    I might have to switch back to Supreme Commander until this mod is fixed.

    Hey this mod was by far the best COH mod

    Please please please release at patch to make it work with v2.6 no need to go all fancy and extra TOV features just a little patch to make it 2.6 compatible would be great.

    that does a little, but overall there are many other things to fix,
    which I cant get hold of yet... AI doesnt build all the buildings anymore,
    maps cause errors , automatic capture doesnt work that good anymore ...
    and so on.. unfortunately I am still quite short of time, too.

    I have a question about automatic capture. I figured at 25% a territory is considered captured. Time to move to the next. But then I noticed the computer/AI sometimes does something that makes the ammo/fuel icon blue(or red) and increases income, but I can't do that. Is that an AI thing that human players can't do and you couldn't take out from your mod (a feature/bug)?

    Halftrack, why not, for the time being, ditch the automatic capture system? At least in order to get the mod working again... or is that worse than fixing it?

    I've told countless friends about your mod. Everyone I know that has COH.. that is literally 13 guys from my reenacting unit and friends, love your mod. We all wish we could play it again.

    Is there anything we could do to help get it back up and running. Like even simple stuff? I'm not a complete noob in scripting etc. Just might need a few instructions.

    @Teleon: the ATC/Capture system is the last thing I am fighting with... I wuld have skipped it, if there was a chance that it worked properly without. But it doesnt.

    I would have already skipped capturing , if the rest worked out. But it doesnt.

    It seems that it does. In a 4v4 map with 5 fuel points I get a max income of 30 at first, but when some of those turn blue the income doubles.

    Hi , i like this mod very much , but for myself I wanted to increase Light of sight of infantry and armour .
    I changed sight_package outer_radius every infantry unit from 35(40) to 60 but actually it worked only with sniper (a single unit in squad ) and german recon team .
    For other infantry the LOS appears to stay the same . Could you help with it ?

    yes , there is a chance... in fact we just got back to work.

    sorry for this long wait, I hope you guys have a little more patience, but I am quite occupied with RL workloads...

    The main problem of bringing BotB back to life is the AI.
    The damn thing doesnt build any vehicle buildings...
    but sweeten will hopefully help me out, as I am a total AI noob.

    So what can you guys expect:

    1. A release of the Mod for 2.6 in the "as is" Beta state.
    Small things have been fixed and added, some of them glitchy, but playable... as an attempt to bring the mod back to life.

    - 88mm Flaks will be in emplacements
    - Flak 38 Quad buildable for 7th Army tree
    - Bofors 40mm buildable for US Infantry tree
    - towable guns ( AT and Arty )
    - Visible units in Halftracks, able to fight out of the compartment
    - some changes to doctrine trees

    2. If we regain a player base, we are going to adress all that stuff and make it work properly,
    develop the mod further as well as adding proper new vehicle models and animations.

    As always no ETA, sorry... BUT a clear "YES, we will!"
