I used to play this a while back.. a few months at least. It was amazing, i can remember having a long line of Howitzers for the US, and constantly bombarding those Jerrie's to hell :P
I can't wait for it to be released for 2.4 as i really want to play it again![]()
Good work on all the new things you appear to have added. Keep up the good work!
It works you just need a new shortcut and module.
[QUOTE]It works you just
How do you do that? Mine won't launch in 2.4
#1955
Sorry for letting you guys down in the last days, but as the patching madness is
still in progress, I just want to wait for the 2.5 respect. 2.501 changes before
releasing some official stuff. I am sure that 2.5 will bring some new nasty surprises
for mods...
#1956
God i hope not, if 2.500 kills mods, i can see this area of the community getting rather quite again like after 2.0 and OF. I doubt i'll be starting Cross of Iron again from scratch, hopefully someone will come up with a way to convert mods like with 2.400, or at least Mannerheim or Corsix might write a tool to save us!I am sure that 2.5 will bring some new nasty surprises
for mods...
I'm pretty sure you haven't let anybody down, we can only be gratefull for such a good mod, and even if 2.5 DOES (hopefully it doesn't) kill modding, then at least some of us have had the oppurtunity to play it. And i totally understand why you are going to wait, because its only a matter of time before Relic release a new Patch, probably when Tales of Valor hit the stores in the UK.. in a few days by my reconning.Sorry for letting you guys down in the last days
is there an ETA on the 2.500 patches? because Tales of Valor is going live tomorrow, so i wonder if they coincide
Man, all I can say is I'm glad I bought Supreme Commander Gold Edition and Dawn of War Platinum Edition a few weeks ago.....I'd go crazy not being able to get any BotB games in.
#1960
@lin: of course there is no ETA. Have to get the 2.5 patch, then look after the cahnges it does to the game, trying to solve the problems, and care about RL, to...

#1961
Halftrack can you post your .module file here? I can't seem to get it working right. (I really messed things up because BotB works different than my own mod...).
#1962
i just learned that 2.500 will come with ToV and will be like 1.5 or 2 gigs in size like OF was, so i guess lots of work is ahead of the team
#1964
Xalibur and me are just about to get the Blitzkrieg-Mod running on 2.500 - and Xalibur has a pretty good "connection" to Halftrack, so this shouldn't be too hard. Big patches don't mean big troubles.
yeah and then theres patch 2.501.0 and it also looks like theres another after that as well, as ive just updated to 2.501.0 and it still says needs another patch which isnt available at present, a m8 whos online informed me it comes in 5hrs, hopefully with the maps, so as with my mods, I'm not trying anything to fix until I know exactly when everyone is patched up from relic and then sort through it, as it seems in vain at moment to try anything, as new stuff keeps arriving
Is there any news on if/when BotB will be working again. I'm slowly losing my CoH powers while increasing my DoW powers....
All, maybe I missed it before, but I couldn't host a map before, it would CTD when I pressed the "Host" button.
It works now, I can host BotB multiplayer. This is the module info I'm using:

So just copy & paste into mine and it should work? Or have I to do more to make it work under 2.501?All, maybe I missed it before, but I couldn't host a map before, it would CTD when I pressed the "Host" button.
It works now, I can host BotB multiplayer. This is the module info I'm using:

It might not work because of the smiley faces.
nah, i corrected the smiley faces still couldnt get it to work

noticed these typos. Also some entries at the end seems missing. Also I can´t save the Module with word pad, it says access was denied. Any suggestions'?Spoiler

those are not typos but the smiley
maybe the module is set to be read only? that would explain why u cant modify it
The module worked for me as I just copied and pasted over the old one and I also had to make a new shortcut as the installed one would not work. The new shortcut had changed the "-modname" to
-mod" and it works fine for me. Only problem I saw was that the maps show a string of characters instead of the actual name of the map and thats it.
Trey
okay i managed to fire it up but its a bugfest, missing rgms everywhere![]()
You mean the check box copy protection? No, this one is unchecked.maybe the module is set to be read only? that would explain why u cant modify it
How can I view the text without smilies? I copied the text pasted it into my reply box and pressed preview post with disabled smilies. The text showed up like posted above. Can I totally switch off smilies? I didn´t find the option.
Not I do not think since t'is for the patch 2.501 in any case, i await the MOD impatiently. Sorry for my english.
so i got the mod fully working, only a few icons are missing from the doctrine seletion menu + the botb maps have no key strings, otherwise its flawless
the AI seems broken, it doesnt build vehicles/tech up, but its a nice infantry only game![]()

With which exe do you laucnhing the game? Do you need any command line parameters in the shortcut? Keeps crashing on start.
u need a shortcut of the reliccoh.exe with -dev -mod BotB in the command line
atm i cant get it to work online, it gives the notorious "incompatible version" error, anyone with any ideas on how to solve this?
Halftrack please please help![]()

Almost every< text in game says some numbers + nokey. Also the intro is not playing.
Lin, use the CoHLauncher to play online. Or try asking Sweeten/SIG_Surgeon, I hear they are good with this sort of stuff.

"Torch Bearer" AKA Leader of European Theater: 1944 Modification (NEW THREAD)
@ lin - not to jump into another mods thread, but mods online are a little banged up atm.
I'm assuming BoB uses scar, and that will make it incompatible. If not, then you need the same EXACT version as whoever you're playing against. I'm guessing it's scar though.
@ BoB team - if you guys figure out anything with these AI issues, I'd love to know. It's a rather disobediant little guy these days. I'm working on it for N44, but it's a tangled mess. I'll also pass on anything I come up with, but I can tell you that a ton of stuff has changed ever so slightly. Custom units are a nightmare, as simply setting demands in rules_unit_purchase has little bearing
yea i suppose its a scar thing
as for the AI i dont mind if its broken, i usually play humans
#1990
Hey Guys, I thought I should keep you informed about the actual status of the mod and
whats happening at the moment.
1. I still havent updated to CoH 2.5 yet, with so much issues going on, I thought it would be a good idea to
finish version 2.1 of the mod before patching. But due to RL mostly, I am way behind with the next update
2. Honestly, the patch has AGAIN changed so much, that I doubt its easy to transfer it flawlessly to 2.5,
but I will give it a try. I really lost some motivation to work on the Mod by now.
So the plan is as follows:
Update 2.1 will be CANCELLED.
Main Focus is to make a patch 2.5 compatible version of the mod first. Some changes will be included,
like new maps and bugfixes, but no new features ( like mannable HTs ).Sorry, but that all hasnt been tested yet
After that I may restart from scratch and with version 3.0 ... IF I am still motivated to do so...
( I am a little fed up with snow.. Wink )
well if you are fed up with it im sure there is someone you trust and can continue the development
#1992
Halftrack, keep in mind custom veternacy icons don't work anymore.... I'm like you really not happy with alot of those changes.
Somebody help out this man/or use a cattleprod. We can't let this mod die!
I will understand if you cease development of the mod but I would really love to see other people pick it up if you move onto something else.
yea we absolutely cant let it die, its THE best mod for coh for people seeking realism
#1995
easy, nobody said its going to die...
#1996
Indeed, it's normal for modders to have some times less motivation to continue, I got that aswell as maby others I think. But most of them will recover from it.
Hey Haltrack, great to have you back!
Some things I've noticed so far:
1) Repair stations don't repair
2) Sturm Artillery and Panzer buildings don't get built by AI - likewise for Americans.
3) Off map units are called in by the AI, but often bunch up at their HQ's
4) Colliope doesn't fire it's rockets
Most BotB options do seem to still work.
Those are the ones I can think of at the moment...
@ramfanatic
I'm assuming your talking about after the latest patch (2.5) ?
#1999
Hey Halftrack + BotB Team, I got this idea to make it look better for the towing at-guns. (I don't know if it's possible to trigger the action when it "loads" into the halftrack)
Add a animator_set_state to the ebps of the At-gun, and set the state_machine_nameto: antitankgun_state.
And set the do_action_state_name to: towing.
Now the "arms" are almost closed! (with NIS they are totally closed, but when adding it as a animator_set_state if refuses...).
Animator_Set_State resut
NIS result
I also tried to add the animator_set_state to make it lifted as when the crew moves the AT-gun, but that failed to work together either. (I'll keep trying)
Now you only need to find a way to get the crew invisible, which I didn't try yet.
~Edit~
I found a way to make the arms closing completely with the animator_set_state. Add another animator_set_state to the ebps of the pak, make it exactly the same but set the do_action_state_name to: invisible. That should do the trick.
