So I'm not the only one?
I was surprised to find some stuff suddenly not working in my mod. It was working in -dev mode in 2.3 with Corsix's unblocked exe. Though if you run your mod as an SGA, the problems disappear.

Is the Link currently on there for the install because I have had very bad experiences with the whole unzip and move here thing.![]()
But great mod can't wait to use it! I love the realism and the new skins also the doctrine changes thank you and keep up the GREAT work!![]()

this Panzerjaging is a little confusing, I must say ...
...like sturm said, packing attributes into archive refixes the mod...

Character's post above yours is not mine.
There is two spaces in his name and his image is different.
Very confusing in my opinion.
The Grenadier avatar is the one working with the mod team![]()

Sorry about that but I used the name cause it is my account on world in conflict
So is the link on the front page right now to install it??
#507
only for "old" CoH, Version 1.71 - but the 2.301 Version wont take long anymore
"2.301 version won't take long anymore"
Music to my ears.

#509
yes, its on the last lane, only minor things to do now, mostly beauty repairs..
#510
I guess it'll be released in .SGA format.
I wish this weekend was next weekend so I could play this.
cant wait to play it on OF. Never had the chance to play it on 1.71 since i had the steam version of CoH and accidentaly left CoH on auto update, the day the 2.00 patch came out.
Will it have a install link for the new patch?
#514
yes, it will have a full installer version..
@Panzer Jager: only attrbitues have to be packed into sga, the rest works fine.
#516
Ok that will make this much easieralso which king tiger turret are you using?
Also I noticed that it said the 88 came from off map does that mean it is finally mobile?
Can't wait!![]()

Of course we are still using Porsche turret - is there another working turret ?
Who said 8,8 will be mobile? And How ? Hoovering or what ???![]()
Well I have not had a chance to play the mod so I did not know which turret and also there is a model in code name panzers I don't know if that will help though
No it said 88 (off map) and they use to attach them to the back of the half tracks and opel blitz trucks
So you can tow them to the desired location and detach them and make them set up like a British hq truck and when the front line is too far ahead pack it up and tow it closer
#521
All nice ideas, but impossible to do with CoH
you could just make it man movable like the PAK38, but make it move like 1-1.5 miles an hour.
or, a truck can be called in
(cost 100 man power) and it can build 88s. This truck can have an "attachment" behind it like a cart with gun parts and ammo to seem like it has the materials to build the 88, and to hinder its movement.
OR, the 88 can be "attached" to half tracks like the link between a command tank and a firefly ^.^, but it takes 5 seconds to connect and the half trakc will close up real tight, and turn around to face its back side towards the 88. The 8 will then just become an 88 on wheels or something stuck to the half track.
AKA Sad_eyed_Irony!!
will the mod work on plain old 2.3?
#525
2.3 ? I dont see why it shouldnt.. it should even work with 2.2
@ 88 proposals
guys, thats quite funny, I would like to see this beeing modded at the given circumstances...
The 105mm Howitzer is man-towable in the Mod, but it has WHEELS.
Can someone do magic and give the 88 wheels to be towable ?? Can anyone add
animation the 8,8 to turn around ? There are no tools.
Is anyone able to tell the 8,8 only to follow
Halftracks?? No, those things arent possible or very, very difficult.
We tried some ways, and they didnt work out. All in all, theres too much of an effort
right now, maybe thats easier later on..

Relic didn't get towing to work satisfactorily in the time they had, so I doubt any mod team can do it. Using the "follow" option not work, 'cause the following unit doesn't move until the other unit has reached a certain distance, so it will look like the towed gun is moving on its own. Maybe in the next expansion they will have towing, but I wouldn't hold my breath, because they've come this far without it and it's not like the player base is demanding it.

There was one thing we tried; Howitzers able to be 'garrisoned' into trucks (ex. Opel Blitz) but for some reason it wouldn't work properly, and so we have Howitzers (not the 88mm) able to move by foot similar to AT guns, although there is no animation for the crews.
Looks like what I said sparked a wave of comments about the idea but I understand what you are saying and looks like we will have to wait till some tools become available so half past never
Also so the code name panzers model won't work?
well i might be able to find a picture of the FLAK36/38 wheeled version. It was man portable but could only be moved around 5 MPH max.
If i find a pic ill edit this post and ad a link to it
EDIT1:
found a pic, but i cant open it or right click its link the dang internet doesnt want to load pictures (damn you microsoft)
EDIT2: fixed problem, heres link

Last edited by bwc153; 3rd May 08 at 10:05 PM. Reason: able to fix problem
They where all wheeled they had detachable carriages but what they are saying is it is impossible to make it movable in the game
how would it be impossible, the FLAK36/38 could be moved by men. Just make it do they same thing as the other mobile support weapons are. (they set up/pack up)
cause there are not any ways to make it have wheels what I thought made the most sense was to have it garrison in half tracks but that won't work either I guess
One question: Will the vehicles leave tracks on the snow? I asked this 3-4 pages before, but didn't get any answer.
#534
They should, as vehicles leave tracks on the mud in stock..
But it disappears after a short amount of time.
Super Funtime MAgik 88 Suggestion!
What if they can float?
Better suggestion!: Flak on wheels!
Spoiler
Spoiler
And My Favorite Idea!! Flak with a chasis!
Spoiler
That looks like a Panzer III chassis. Must have been a rare conversion, as I've never seen that one before. The only self-propelled 88mm FlaK I've seen uses an SdKfz 18 half-track, and they were only around for the beginning of the war when Germany had no well-armed tank hunters.

I would really like to bring that 8,8 discussion to an end for now.
Guys, we cant do magic. As long as there are no proper tools,
(properly documented at last) this is only dreamy chitchat.
Even if the OE is usable, and we ( or someone else ) know how to use it,
it is still hazardous work. And even then, we will care about the tons of
units which dont have proper models yet, before caring about a strongly
limited unit in 1 out of 6 choosable doctrines.
This "8,8 Moebelwagen" is no Panzer III chassis afaic,
note the size of the chassis compared to the gun, and the full wheel suspension.
I also doubt that Panzer III would have been able to carry the 8,8... but an intersting conversion indeed..
have seen something like it before, but cant remember where...

I think its a marder that sneezed
Also how much time till the new version please?
#539
I wrote "eta one week" three days ago, so it will be around 4 days or sth..
So should be 3 days from now right? Thursday May 8th, 2008? If so, I'm counting the hours down. Probably may 9th since i'm not thinking straight![]()

As I have some more work to do this week than expected, 9th or 10th will be realistic![]()
great...i'm really looking forward to this mod![]()
Well, at least it'll be this week. Still can't wait for it![]()
#545
It will be only a beta release.
A final will come after the OE is fully functional, if Halftrack finds the time to make animations and new units/upgrades.
I may do some minor 'patching' after release, depending on the bugs which show up.
I will sure as hell help in trying to locate pesky bugs. That is if there are any bugs...
Is the patch and op going to be released on the same day?
Also are all those models like the stum and Maultier in 2.3
Hi,
Just signed up because I have some questions to this lovely looking mod.
Is it possible to see pictures of the German LfH 18 105mm?
Does this mod include the StuH 105 (Blitzkrieg doctrine)?
Since you were able to make a Sturmtiger, is it possible to make the awesome Jagdtiger with its devestating 12,8cm AT Gun? (Which should blow away any allied tank with one shot!)
What I realy miss in all mods is german artillery. I'm not realy a fan of the Hummels. I would love to see the german K 170 or 210mm long range guns. Are they possible?
Thanks.
PS: I tried to post pictures of the mentioned tank and guns, but it wouldn't let me.
#549
I know the mentioned tanks and guns... dont worry.
the leFH18 is just a reskinned M2 105mm Howitzer.
Jagdtigers were sometimes mentioned to have taken part in the Ardennes
Offensive, sometimes not. All in all even if, they were deployed in such small numbers,
that its not worth implementing it.
I am a little bit tired of writing this again and again:
New ,fully functional unit models are IMPOSSIBLE to implement at the moment.
Those few you see in the mod are all work in progress and lack animation.
Sorry, but its hardly possible for me to read through the entire 37 pages of this thread, so I thought it easier to simply ask.
Excuse for being a smartass, but Jagtigers would be more comon than those Sturmtigers. And if you would realy want to be that accurate, you shouldn't include the Tiger I., because at that time they weren't produced anymore (Production end August 1944) and I'm unaware that they took part in the ardennen offensive.
Regards
