    The Haemonculus' voice sounds quite good in my opinion, not to mention drastically different from the Soulstorm version (aside from the gender). After using the DE so much in Soulstorm, the voice reminds me somewhat of the one ILE used for the Wyches. While I do think that's fine, is there anyway to digitally enhance them so the pitch and tone of the voice sounds more sinister?

    Gorbs, Overmind, myself, Kasker, BlackFang, and others are moving forward with it. All thats holding it up is 3d work.. its being done but taking its time. Overmind is churning out some god-like voices for the units and Gorbs and I finished the CODE and AI. Its all coming together.

    I'm sure I'm not the only one running into RL issues (moved, got pneumonia, HDD cable went bad so I had to cut it off, etc.), and I'm only making WTP's for the units.
    If is okay with the boss(es) I will post AP screenies when I get them finished, since I know people like pretty pictures. Funny, they're not so enthused about hearing about coding issues getting resolved and whatnot.

    hehe.. Modding Work is mostly 75% the 3d side of things.. the rest works ontop it. If only modding in DoW was as easy as AI and AE/LUA in terms of progress speed. Everyone judges successful progress by the amount of released eye-candy.

I have just started to look at learning to use 3ds max 8 so that I can do my own objective points banners for if/when I decide to clone the existing races if I need to do some textures re-works, like Space Wolves and Dark Angels for example - not that I'm any good at texturing either but if anyone releases any textures like ones for Dark Angels or Space Wolves and they aren't specifically made for a full race mod I'd need to do a full race mod to keep them seperate, and my head hurts just looking at the objective points model...

    So I can fully appreciate why it takes so long for mod teams to get the mods out to us in the public domain.

    Good to see this mod is still alive.

    Sounds very good overmind... but there´s a littel "click" sound at the end of almost every sound sample... maybe it´s just me... oh well..

    1) one of the samples has microphone feedback at the start of it
    2) there is a sample called "Build" but mandrakes do not build anything - they are just Tier1 Scout units.

    But wow! Very good man.. keep up the amazing work yer doing!

    Helions... it's all straight forward and labeled.. only one issue is that they have on file called "laughing", this was supposed to a selection souind representing their crazed manic-ness(Dark Eldar fluff near the back The Annals of Terror) as it mentions they laugh....... well it doesn't say but they sound like they would.........

    I however thought it didn't fit(should be a movement sound perhaps) and also taht it was badly done.

    Jeff(boyfreind) disagreed and so it's in there waiting for opinions.

    The Hellion file was empty for me, so I can only go off the comparison folder...

    If you throw a metallic filter onto the first one (untitled5), it'd probably sound really good. Untitled(3) isn't too bad on it's own. The other two don't quite seem to fix the context of... hello...

    Like, you probably wouldn't scream "HELLO!" in anger. But it's just for comparison, right?

    I posted my taskbar work on the DE forum but nobody saw it apart Thud ( who is everywhere any time ) so I repost it here :
    It is not finished :
    - I need to make the hide/unhide button and the top menu.
    - I have to improve it a bit to give it more depth and shadows.

    It should be quick. However, I have a problem ; I can't get the hand on the taskbar template Relic made. Without it it is pain in the ass to position the button correctly. Can someone send it to me please ?

    Pogs is on 2d work, Overmind on amazing sounds/voices, Gorbs on coding and moving DE over to a truely mobile army, me on AI. 3d work kinda is moving although it could be better.

    so how will the Dark Eldar in the mod differ from SS's Dark Eldar? In SS, i felt lacked alot like heavy weapons for the warrior squads, vehicle options, etc.

    We like heavy weapons and our buildings move.

    That and Reavers come in squads like Vect intended.

    Plus IL is of the devil or something.... I'm not quite sure in that part........ people don't like them for some reason.

    In contrast we are the devil.

    How does the DE differ in this mod than from Relic and IL's DE? Oh, I don't know. Heavy weapons? Like, proper heavy weapons? Pretty much what overmind said. Reavers don't run around by themselves, the entire damn base is mobile as heck. Did I mention your HQ is a big flying thing that shoots people and calls down airstrikes?

    Just a few pointers as to what's in store.

    Oh, and Warp Beasts have a new, bigger brother. And the big brother comes in threes.

    I Like the logo PogS, but the colors are off, and the letters dont look darkeldary(might be the colors), but overall it looks cool, for colors i would say the same as the Ui with the flames that light blue color.

    EDIT TO SHOW OFF STUFF:

    Okay, so it's been quite a while since we gave out any information about this here mod. Ombrephenix's work has been incorporated into the mod, with me adding a few new changes to his taskbar. overmind's new sounds have been put ingame, I especially like the new Hellion voices. The new Hellion model itself is looking very good, there's just a few weighting errors that are preventing me from exporting it into the OE. With any luck the model will be fixed (by our 3rd party modeller) sometime in the next week or so. PogS is busy with RL issues and also the WH mod, so for the time being the new Dark Eldar taskbar is on hold, I'm using Ombre's Space Marine taskbar instead. Works fine, just graphically it doesn't look very . . . spiky

    In the meantime, have a screenshot.

    It's a Relic unit alright, it's just there are . . . well, three of them

    Also on the news front, I'm going to start getting Soul Resource ingame, thanks go to Octopus Rex for explaining how the gamescreen.screen works. And davisbe has some WTPs in progress somewhere as well

    EDIT: I should really elaborate on how the Greater Warp Beasts function, as they are rather . . . unique, gameplay wise. I suppose I'll do that when I release the new tech tree. Which will be soon. Honest.

    IMPORTANT UPDATE: Status as of 21st of October, 2008:

    Things have been moving behind the scenes, this mod is on track for a revamped public beta sometime soon. I've decided that making a DC version of the mod is counter-productive, as there are a lot of new features that can only be implemented in Soulstorm. Thus, the Dark Eldar Mod is Soulstorm-only, from this point onwards.

    Expect more news to come soon, along with a new tech tree and gameplay specifics.
