What to look for in hw2.log if you are having graphic problems.

Nope, Intel chipsets aren't supported. They don't have the mojo to run HW2 for the most part.

but some TNT2 cards really runs Homeworld2! At my friend's home, he cannot enter the game in WindowsXP (unable to create "pbuffer"), but in Win2000, everything goes well...
The poorest system i have ever heard that could run Homeworld2 is PIII 450, 128 MB RAM and TNT2 PRO ..., my friends system is PIII 800, 768MB RAM and TNT2 PRO.

I find that highly unlikely, unless he's running some kind of SW T&L software for it (like nvidia's buzz stuff).

If the Asus Vid card is an nvidia or ATI chipset of an appropriate model then yes.

Hi...umm...I have a Radeon 8500 with a 3842 driver installed. My question is: You said that's an old driver--but I can't find the newer driver you mention -- 3878 -- either on the ATI site, or ANY OTHER SITE?? Is my search engine bad?? Whaaat?

Irdgrd: In case you haven't found the posts about your issue yet (I know I'm posting this very late, but maybe others that are reading this topic have this problem too), but you need to set your Regional Settings in Control Panel to English (United States).

If it doesn't work on XP, then it likely won't work on 98. Post a bug in the HW2 Bugs forum about your XP problems.
