This may melt some dial up conns.
It's a large shot of all the Keyboard shortcut keys. An "at a glance" pic.

no time compression![]()
Dev's done their best to make the gameplay not require it. Just as well... if you need time compressions suggests that the game is too slow at points or is missing some other features (say like the 'resources collected' if it does what we think it does).
AND no pilot view![]()
I loved pilot view. I can't tell you how many times I just toyed around and sent a huge mass of ships to their doom just to think how cool it was.

well homeworld 1 had no pilot view but you could turn it on with an extension in the .ink file you if you used "run". perhaps theres something similar for homeworld2. or its maybe added in a patch
Helpful post, however....

Ragnarok, U need help
The pilot view was a great feature. no, im wrong, it was a wonderful feature. It allowed you to participate in these epic battles in a first person way. now tell me, what other game lets u do that? (besides HW & HW:C, duh)
it has to be in the next patch or something

thx JackBoCracken, I've uploaded the .png file. There is a decrease in quality of the pic but for this purpose a better choice in formats.
I kno that i only joined last month, i have actually played HW since release and also have cata (and hate it, good story but the rest is badly made) but it strikes me that only n00bs actually like pilot view, after a while the novelty wears off.
I bought HW1 on release day, and I definitely enjoy pilotview. Think of how cool it would be in HW2 with the larger and more sweeping strikes, and the torpedoes launching from the front of the Torp Frigate
I noticed there wasn't any button to change which track of music is playing in the MP or Player Versus Computer games like in Homeworld 1.
In the first Homeworld it was the "<" and ">" keys to change between tracks, but now these keys do something else.
Since it was only a Demo and probably doesn't have all the tracks, but will this feature be in The Full Retail? Will it be done the same way as in Homeworld 1 or will there be a new method of choosing which music track to listen to?
I would like there to be a menus in options that you can create a custom playlist of in-game tracks and also an ability to play your own MP3's you can put into a playlist for the game to play. It would be neat to listen to some of the original Homeworld soundtrack songs in the new Homeworld 2 using some form of custom playlist editor.
I've noticed there is no hotkey for "launch selected" and "launch all" ... this is direly missing.
I couldn't find a hotkey for patrol either.
I hope you can quickly fix it in a patch...

In honesty i never used patrol it is only good for games that used fog of war EX:war3 starcraft TAI am teh roxor but just get a sensor array and patrol is obsolete I dunno about Demo but if they have a sensor array that would be cool.
uhm......what's "P" do? i know about setting 'rally objects' with CTRL+P, but what the heck does the hotkey "P" do? (i'd try it out ingame, but i get too excited and just play a game and forget)

rally point in space.
ctrl+p is a rally point on a ship
I am not sure how to get the waypiunts from End to End or from 1 point to a nouther but we will probably get it in the full version.
but you have to press w for waypoints.
and I am not sure about patrolls I havent used them yet.
You guys have awesome smilyies

what's P then? how can it be redundant? what's the use of that then?
For what it's worth, I have a PDF file formated to fit nicely on an 8.5" x 11" page size with the same HW2 keyboard commands. Unfortunately, it looks like I'm not able to attach it to my post.
Nebfire
You must upload it, and link to it. The RBs don't have attachmnt capability. If you don't have a site to upload it to, sent it to nickersonm @ isomedia.com and I'll upload it for you.

Whats the key to record a game? Or is that an option thing... either way i cant find it!
Thanks nickersonm. I left the file at work (slow day), so I'll send it to you in the morning (EST time).
No problem. Just be aware that I'm PST and am sleeping in.

It looks very nice, thanks.

You betchya, glad to help - and thanks for the upload!
Many thanks for the printable listing, Nebfire! You made a nice layout, and I really appreciate you including 2 versions of the pdf and the original raw word/wordpad document.
And thank you to Nickersonm for hosting it.

That's so much better for me than the jpg. I was worried about not being able to read the thing, and was messing around with the controls.jpg in Fireworks.
This is much better.
I miss pilot view also. It was a very cool feature that they added to HW on the first patch, and was always on Cat.
What I would really like to see is a feature that plays Wagner's 'Ride of the Valkyries' when my fleet attacks![]()
