it's gameplay of the battle you see for most of the trailer.

Watch the end of the kotaku video. The gliders interacting with the environment. I was cracking up so hard as they were plowing through everything.
yeh sure it was the AA gun, also made me think of the battle of Britain! haha. best movie ever! hope they will be abl to tear apart infantry stupid enough to assault it!
The Creeping barrage is the shiz! HEHEH. WoW 3 sec after the flares came down a burst of 5 heavy shells falls in one go for a total of 16 shells, needless to say that this creeping abrrage stop a Tank hunter tanks spearhead cold HEHEHET It comes as fast as a 280 mil rocket barrage but it will be way more deadly. 350 ammo and 8 CP ability for this is a must HEHEHE. That thing owns! WoW it is really scary!
"Great! More old farts for the stomach battalion!"
"It was either the Iron Cross or the Wooden Cross."
-Gunther Rall
lol what the hell,
did the british actualyl crash their gliders right into things to drop out?
jesus it was just going through everything
it should be able to be taken out by infantry though, if one lobbes a grenade, SMG's, assault rifles.
2 Ostwinds parked near your Nebels would make short work of those gliders!
The landing of the gliders was fantastic, the little tank also coming out, this really feels like a commando squad! Great job guys!![]()
What was very impressive about the glider landings was how the wings tore off and the gliders skidded after hitting the buildings. Beautiful use of physics there
I wonder if Axis AA can shoot those gliders down...?
In fact i knew this date and it used to be a month earlier when i preordered it a few months back.am I really the first to note that it in the end says NOVEMBER???????? ZOMG!!! we got an ETA guys
Nice videos! I realy like the effect of the horsas falling out of the sky. It's reaction to the land is awsome. If axis can't shoot them down i will be heart broken. Kinda stupid though how PE just stood there and got howied....then used nebels.
Hmm it looks like the speculation that the PE squads will be 3 man is correct, at least for the time being.
Other notes, in that second video the gliders coming in looked absolutely awesome.
The PE tanks look out of control, even though I dont think the final sounds are in for them. The Tiger II had the same cannon sound as the current Panther, which excites me because it means they are more than likely stopgaps until they put in new even more awesome sounds.
In that first video it almost looked like they were using combat rifle grenades against ze germans?
Now I can't wait to zerg people with my halftracks
Flaks and Ostwinds to utterly pawn this company!
At least the Ostwind will not just shoot down an empty plane, it will be crashing down with troops and a little tank!Ostwinds will be the bane of this company that is for sure!
Wow those gliders look amazing, I can't wait to see them in action during the PE campaign in OF. I can't wait to see a video of the weather effects, there is nothing better than a battle in the middle of a thunderstorm(those who played medieval 2:TW know what I'm talking about).
I can see those gliders really comming in handy.
We shall rule this galaxy once more.
Imagine landing on top of some cloaked Stormtroopers![]()
British SAS come out.... What the hell mate free panzerschreks?![]()
If you look closely at the first vid (Gamespot one), that looks like an Sd.Kfz 223 getting toasted - not an Sd.Kfz 222. The 223 is recognizable by its frame antennae and single MG in a smaller turret.
Info on the vehicle here. If that is an Sd.Kfz 223, I wonder if Relic is planning on having two seperate vehicles or one that can upgrade to the 20mm cannon and coax MG34?

I think the sd.kfz 222 is modular to what squad you put into it. Like the IFV from RA2
Good comparison, however you dont get a shiny new turret when the squad hops in.
More video of Germans getting owned....sigh.
Yeah aint they supposed to be the winners in this specific battle?
It doesn't matter who wins in the video
No, only of market garden :P.
I think the video shows singleplayer stuff from the British campaign. (Normandy)
more, more, more,....
or better:

Coming back after a long period of inactivity, I'm happy to see the community still going strong.
Now, with respect to King Tigers and Tigers, they were massed and organised in Heavy Tank Battalions (Schwere Panzer Abteilungs) or s.Pz.Abt. in short. Hence, it would be rather wrong to attach King Tigers to the Tank Hunter doctrine, but that's the least of our worries with respect to historical authenticity (compared to a Jeep stopping a Panther on its tracks for example).
Tank hunter (PanzerJaeger) formations were using either towed PaK and/or Flak AT guns, self propelled AT guns such as StuG III/IV or Jagdpanthers to name a few.
As for the uniforms, it appears we're dealing with German paras with a twist. The standard helmet is seen instead of the special para helmet, hence it might be an example of Luftwaffe infantry formation (Herman Goerring Division perhaps).
There are also a couple of standar Wehrmacht uniforms as well.
As far as the British uniforms are concerned, Royal Commandos and possibly a sapper uniform from either SAS or Commando unit.
Phew! A long one.
Good hunting :-)

Hey guys, Joystiq.com did a liveblog of the THQ conference. No news about Relic what so ever.
http://www.joystiq.com/2007/07/12/jo...es-conference/
I hope there is still more to come. I am a little suprised that they arn't doing features like talking about certain units ect.
Did you see the AT gun emplacement firing? i mean you cant see the acutal weapon, but you can see it killing the Jagdpanther in the trailer, there must be more than one of them, otherwise they shoot way too fast.
Could be the british version of Bofors anti tank gun which was semi auto.
it may shoot fast but not incredibly powerful.
It took out a Jagdpanther within two shots, however i know know this is just from a video, blah blah.
This is from campaign I see

I find it odd that the AT emplacement is a bofors... i mean, they are AA guns. i know AA guns make fine AT, but
A) were they really used for that? and
B) wouldn't a regular AT gun be better, especially pu in sandbags and all?
I'm guessing they'll have a dedicated AT gun. The bofors is probably going to ba AA and Anti infantry mostly.
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.
Agreed in principal, but remember the 88 was originally developed as an AA only gun too, but its usefulness in other means was discovered in the field.I find it odd that the AT emplacement is a bofors... i mean, they are AA guns. i know AA guns make fine AT, but

Does any army from WWI later NOT bring AA artillery with them?I didn't even know that the british had anti air guns in france?
ANY army in their right mind brings ground-based AA weaponry with them!
On the Bofors 40mm, it's a light AA weapon, comparable to the Ostwind's 37mm FlaK 43. Although intended for use against aircraft, it was also effective against light armour and infantry.
I'd like to see Brits get the QF 6 Pounder and QF 17 Pounder AT guns - the latter would make for a great emplaced weapon...the British equal to the Axis 88mm FlaK 36 except that it would be a dedicated AT gun.
If I remeber corectly in one of the screenshots although not seen in the screen a howitzer can be seen in name in the command panel.
see here: Howi
Am I the only person who noticed that in the Gamespot interview at 1:36 he says, "... as you're playing either the singleplayer or the multiplayer campaign." ? I knew that they were talking about new game modes, but not at this level!![]()
Hopefully he wasn't just confused.
Alkaidia
Alkaidia [Al-kay-dee-uh]. Not in reference to terrorists, the common misperception. But a name my brother and I came up with in the mid 90s.

He probably just had a grammar fart and meant singleplayer campaign or multiplayer.Am I the only person who noticed that in the Gamespot interview at 1:36 he says, "... as you're playing either the singleplayer or the multiplayer campaign." ? I knew that they were talking about new game modes, but not at this level!
Remember: you're a blogger. Pretense is your co-pilot.
They call it Opposing Force in the article... wow.
In this picture, if you look to the right, that might be the portable HQ..

yea that looks like the 25pdr mentioned a page or two ago.
Jesus, anyone get a HUGE Imperial Guard Basalisk feeling from the British Priest?
Gotta love it!
Nice Trailer...alltrough the Kingtiger fireing on the Tetreach Tank and the shell bouncing off......lets hope for the best....

The glider landings are going to be tougher to figure than bombing and strafing runs, plus i think some recon needed to avoid the flaks and ostwinds, going to be an interesting feature, get it right game winner, get it wrong, resource down the drain.
plus doesnt that map look HUGE
