    British veterancy

    A suggestion about British veterancy (since now it is far to fragile).

    Something in between current system and the one Wermacht has.

    The price for the Lieutenant, Captain and Cromwell Command Tank would not be changed, as well as their stats. But instead of earning their veterancy, it could be bought via upgrades. An HQ Truck would have three upgrades for the Lieutenant veterancy, the Field Support Truck would have three upgrades for the Capitan and Armor Command Truck would have three for Cromwell Command Tank.

    This way a player has to pay for the veterancy and it won't be lost after the command unit dies.

    I would like one hability with my units to disable neutral weapons. For example i'm not interested picking the mg42 but i don't wanna the enemy to pick it. So, intead shooting (can be really slow...) i disable the mortar just with a couple of clicks and then i can leave.

    Also would be fine one hability to protect unit, and then the protetor will attack to the unit is attacking to your protected unit.

    smurf accounts

    just like life, there are good people and bad people here in CoH. The bad ones act like idiots, ruin games, and smurf noobs to seem l33t or whatever. The problem is there are 5 user accounts per CD key and when someone wants to be an idiot they just log to their other accounts and go nuts.

    I personally feel that there should be one user ID per cd key, but since that is unlikely I feel that when you ignore someone's smurf account it should ignore their CD key, that way they can't change accounts and mess with you.

    It should be possible to have a good online experience with the people that want to play in the right way and not have to deal with the people that play like idiots.

    give us the ability to ignore a users CD key!

    Adjective: Soviet (not Russian)

    There is a big historical background for them , plenty
    of potential units (think of katyusha ). Then , many potential doctrines (examples: partisan warfare (adding very agile and swift special infantry, molotov cocktails :P)

    Many things could reflect their real status during war. For example making a tech tree based on command (related to soviet succes of establishing command over almost every single armed man , even those cut away from soviet positions). Could include possibility of making commissar making your units
    unable to be pinned. Giving a possibility for a tech tree that would on some level allow you
    to get ressources from territories not connected to base etc.

    Upgrade commandos doctrine and desert rats campaign

    i think the commandos as elite infantry are pretty weak maybe add the option of a sniper in the glider hq and as the top infantry make SAS squads available that would cost high man power etc. but could be upgraded with loads of weapons to suit any situation. however they would have to be small but should be able to para drop anywhere.

    as well as this as has already been mention there should be a north africa campaign with the afrika korps and the desert rats

    1) ToV length campaign based on Operation Valkyrie
    2) I also would like to see the Japanese, Russian, and Italian armies in.
    3) Please, please, PLEASE get rid of stat tracking for Skirmish or add an option for players to shut it off.

    what pi55es me off is people that quit after the game loads just because they don't like the map !!!!

    give players the option to unselect more maps !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    or have "instant win to other party" if another few maps are selected and you don't want to play them. SAVE EVERYONE'S TIME !!!

    An ability to somehow save a replay after the stats screen. Something like select last game played then a 'save game as' button with a dialog to name it something.

    Fix the SLI flickering texture bug. (Probably more of an nvidia thing?)

    PE assault troops can use the panzer faust that they seem to be carrying about for no good reason. ala volks and Knights Cross. At an ammo cost of course.

    Make marders use thier range ie if something is blocking a shot to an enemy vehicle or tank make it move two feet from where it is, not drive right up to the obstacle and then move...

    Give PE something to suppress with early.

    Please fix the bug where you select a faction for an automatch game and you end up being something else.

    I think it also would be nice of THey woudl show some sort of experience bar (or points bar) to indicate how many points you need for the next rank.
    I'd like this because I killed a couple of lvl14 ppl and i am lvl 8 and i didn't got promoted.

    Easy Suggestions:

    #1 Game replay: please give us a rewind button!

    This would make editing and creating a youtube compilation only a million times easier (and maybe convince others to buy the game). Not to mention the awesomeness of re-watching an explosion 5 times .

    #2. At the end of the game you used to be able to click on different units to see their number of kills, since version 2.60 this was no longer possible.

    Please allow us to be able to click on units to see their kills at the end of the game.

    This was a source of great enjoyment after playing for an hour or two, taking away this also takes away enjoyment - and it seems painfully easy to reinstate.

    I completely agree on both points, though I don't think #1 is an easy suggestion. For some reason, games that allow replays rarely allow rewinding. I'm not a game developer so I'm not sure what the reason is, but it's certainly stumped other developers as well.

    It would definitely be an awesome feature- you notice a tank die unexpectedly, just start rewinding and trace that rocket back to the source.

    How about allowing support soldiers, such as Heavy Weapons Teams, Mortars, AT Guns, to retreat to the HQ,thereby abandoning their equipment, instead of being slaughtered when their position is over-run? I know it can be done, the Europe in Ruins mod has this option, however, the soldiers run off map.

    No offence to the relic team on any standards, but you seriously got the Commando doctrine wrong. Reasons why:

    1st: The commando are the Royal Navy, not the R.A.F the commandos "should" be Glider-borne infrantry.

    2nd: Seriously, silenced stens? Like its anyone cares about hearing their weapons go off in a RTS, seriously. They should have normal stens because cmon, seriously surpressed weapons in a RTS? Its not rambo time, they should have a mix of Smg and rifle, and a upgrade to equip a bren for some fire-power.

    3rd: We should have a commando jeep, because the British doesn't really have any fast recon vehicles and don't even say the bren gun carrier.

    4th and last: I think the commando doctrine should have a command unit for the commandos, like Sergent to boost morale and reduce surpression. And add a Commando campaign, its always US airborne no offense to the US armed forces: but the truth is you try to mimic the British forces in every-way. Fact: the 22nd S.A.S Mountain troop beat Delta force 14-2 in a training exercise and still beat them every time to this very day.

    Few (desperate) suggestions 4 Relic:
    -Install and play Company of Heroes - the first version of the game you made, and see what you abandoned/lost making your way with ToV.
    -remove occlusion
    -add crew to tanks and vehicles
    -use historically accurate uniforms, skins and markings
    -create a system/upgrade so that every called vehicle is different (example: player produces 3 PanzerIV tanks - every PanzerIV has a different skin, or at least different marking; it is quite annoying to watch 5 tanks with the same serial number !?)
    -increase the range of tank guns, it is inexcusable and unprofessional to make a ww2 game that features historical battles and weapons, and then to make 57mm AT gun with larger range then 75 or even 88mm guns. The range of Tigers and Firefly`s (compered with 57mmAT or 17pdr) is ridiculously low.
    -reduce the sight range of tanks, to force players to use them together with other units, with more emphasis on tactic.
    -"fix" the very annoying problem of shell`s going right through enemy vehicles, like Panther or 17pdr shells that (instead of hitting) go through light and medium vehicles.
    -add smoke and munition explosions to burning wrecks of tanks
    -make heavy tank wrecks stay on map
    -add more rolevariations
    -balance the use of bazooka/panzerschreck against vehicles
    -use the same balance for all difficulty levels (improve the AI - don`t just make Expert units demigod)
    -give us back the unique magic that characterized the game we came to worship 3 years ago!!!
    . . . there`s more, but I know you won`t implement any of the things I wrote - so, why bother.

    Boys AT Rifle upgrade for Sappers
    - It should cost 75 munitions and add 2 Boys AT rifles.
    - Reward upgrade in the Customize Army tab, for ToV users ONLY.
    - It's damage should be less than the PIAT, but it should be much more accurate. (something like Recoilles Rifles)

    Japanese ideas:

    Japanese have two retreats, one is to turn invisible like smoke rounds and head for the nearest cover. The other: Bansai charge.

    Bansai charge makes them charge the enemy, going strait towards the nearest unit. Once they reach that unit they begin firing and throwing assault grenades. Once they kill that unit they run towards the next unit and do the same. This continues until all of them are dead.

    Japanese have no way to heal.

    Doctrines:

    Ambush Doctrine:

    Ambush doctine abilities could include:

    Wounded soldiers, the ones rolling around on the ground that medics usually pick up now detonate a grenade when enemy troops move over them.

    Covered trenches. These trenches, like the hellcat, are nigh undetectable and troops inside gain superb bonuses when they open fire.

    Tunnels: Tunnels allow your men to move from built entrance to built entrance. Entrances provide resources bonuses in the territories they are in. Limit is three entrances on the map.

    ----

    Survival Doctrine:

    Seppuku-200 Munitions
    Units that are killed provide you with double experience and your enemy with none.

    Prison Camps:
    Like Medic bunkers, except you steal your enemies dead bodies and gain work units that provide effects similar to officer supervision or bonus resources in sectors they are deployed in.

    If they come within range 0 of an enemy unit they retreat back to the enemies base and off map. taking 300% accuracy and 100% damage en route.

    Cut Off: 100 munitions
    Both sides suffer 90% reduction in munitions and fuel for 3 minutes.

    After playing lots of Heroes of Newerth and returning to coh, i find few problems with matchmaking system.
    You could use some of HoN ideas:
    nr1)
    Game Reconnection

    Games are no longer ruined when a player is disconnected! Players that are disconnected, can rejoin the game.

    nr2)
    Leaver Protection

    Create and play in restricted games that can not be joined by players with a history of leaving games early.

    If we had the option of slection of Units and Uniforms to suit a map It will be interesting .

    eg.Desert Camo for Desert / Woodland for woods etc .

    My 2cents

    Maybe things are already suggested but I am too lazy to read all the posts :P

    • A votekick option like in the game "America's Army".
      Sometimes players are messing up a game by being really annoying or just being idle during a game. It should be possible to start a votekick system so players can all vote a player out of the game. For example. 6 ppl are playing, there need to be a 4/6 vote to get someone out of the game.

    • A option to rejoin a match after the game has crashed or simulair problem.
      When a player crashes the computer takes over. The computer messes up the game most of the times so it would be really nice to rejoin.

    • Some extra campaigns like:
      - Russian Campaign, like a Zhukov campaign or a Stalingrad campaign. A snowy campaign must be a nice addition or some real urban fighting.
      - Africa campaign, like a Rommel campaign.

    • Option to be able to zoom out more.
      I want to have a bigger view of the map. I understand this can be a problem for weaker graphiccards but this zoom option can be "connected" to the videoperformance.

    • A build in chat option like the program Teamspeak

    • Assign a "made" HQ to be the new retreatingpoint.
      It is more logical I think. It is weird soldiers have to run back to the start HQ. When playing PE it can be a real problem on a big map.

    • Set a retreating route.
      Sometimes troops retreat through enemy tetritory. This is not logical and can cost you a lot of your infantry. In my opinion this should be changed so I can influance their path.

    If another faction were to be added I think a cool new veterancy system could be territorial based. In that the more units fight in a sector the better they become at fighting in that sector. Perhaps there could be an automatic bonus for fighting in a friendly sector but that bonus would increase if the units gained experience fighting there.

    I think the system could be used to symbolize the inherent advantage of fighting on your own "turf"...like the Russians did.

    Now that we have Soviet in Eastern Front, then why not Japs? Suicide bom wonders lol. I think relic should accept soviet in as a official faction in the next update. Japs should have a Banzai charge like CoD5 and uses bayonets up close and when charging. Most of them should have camouflage and LOTS of air support.

    Soviet and Japs really deserve a campaign.

    Make it cinematic when we watch replays? Like zoom in and have some cool effects like slow motion when a tank blows up and the camera moves for you to get you to the most intense point at the moment? Possible toggle on/off?

    Co-Op campaign maps... 2 or more players working together to complete missions in game and several maps that can be played with 1 player up to 3 or 4 against a very intelligent/strong AI.

    CoH has a really good feeling of plausibility. Sure, it's not 100% realistic, but you can imagine most of what goes on in CoH actually happening on a battlefield. To that end, continue to keep heroes out of normal multiplayer. Heroes are fine for a bit of fun in single player or special multiplayer, but they would destroy the plausibility of CoH's regular multiplayer. I mention this only because hero units are quite fashionable in other RTS games and I fear they may get adopted here.

    Add support for dual monitors. Even if it was very simple support, such as all non-primary monitors showing the strategic map (what you get when pressing keypad insert).

    A "drive in reverse" button would be nice for vehicles, as seen in World in Conflict. I know it's possible to drive them backwards manually but a more sure-fire method wouldn't hurt.

    Consolidated stealth mechanics. Pre-OP units cloak as if they're the predator, whereas post-OP units often have to get into cover and/or stop moving before entering stealth. A more consistent approach would be nice.

    CoH is an amazing game, though, so if I could say anything to the developers it would be "don't feel obliged to be like other RTS games".

    A WWI, Vietnam and korea, afganistan, iraq (the gulf wars) and pacific theartre would be nice. Also, if you capture an airfield, that airfield allows you to send out planes of that faction.There should also be a fall back option were the squad retreats to the nearest strategic point.

    I was thinking - would it be too much for balance to give the US some non-doctrine form of artillery/self-propelled gun? What I had in mind is the M3 GMC, a version of the M3 halftrack with a 75mm gun that could serve both as a tank destroyer (using AP rounds) or for bombing of infantry (HE rounds). It would either be a second upgrade for the M3 or a separate vehicle from the Motor pool, but in both cases it would only unlock at tier 4 (when you built Tank depot or after researching a certain tech upgrade).


    I always felt that the US had less strategic options and a smaller number of units to choose from then the other factions, especially Wehr. My suggestion would be at least a bit of an equivalent to Nebels and Walking Stukas that are both very strong, non-doc and mobile, unlike the 105s and 25 pounders that are immobile and thus quite easy to counter.

    Mind you, the gun on this thing wouldn't be very powerful, it wasn't the greatest tank destroyer ever, but being more mobile than the 57mm AT gun it could have some uses, especially since it would double as an AI bombardment gun and thus be quite versatile. The bombardment attack would ofc be on a cooldown while the regular AT attack would be inaccurate and weak against infantry.

    Doubt Relic would have time to include a brand new unit but still - any opinions? Would it be too much of a gain for the US or do you think it would be good in some team games and finally give the americans some non-doctrine form of arty?

    Here is an easy one for Relic. Now CoH is at mature stage, do away with the options for alternate units and simply include all units. ie. have a Stug and Gessy available, have a Greyhound and Staghound and a schwim and ketter (lol). You get the idea.

    Yup, that would be greatly appreciated. IMO the slight advantage of the opponent not knowing what custom unit you might be using beforehand doesn't outweigh the fact that you limit yourself to using one type of unit over another even before you start a match. A proper RTS game should allow the player to switch his unit selection during a match, not limit his choices before the start of it.

    We already have a way of customizing your army through doctrine choices, and custom units is a bad idea now, even if it did spice things up at the start of ToV.
    Besides, I don't think it would break balance at all.

    A form of trading/donating resource with your team mates. Some games I have a surplus of something and my team mate has a shortage of that resource, I could give some to him, maybe at a 2:1 penalty. (ie I give him 200 fuel and he receives 100)

    Why not make it something simple. No need to add a penalty for helping someone.
    When you send someone a resource of any type. A few trucks (Pending the amount sent) Come in off map and then drive to the players HQ that you are giving said resource to and then unload and drive off.
    Also make the trucks destructible as well. So it adds another element to the game.

    I agree with PrivateNoHope in post #942 make the replacement ToV units addititonal units so opposition doesn't know what you will build. Some of them may actually be used more often as well. It will also allow you to tailor your army to the situation. Another point on this having paid for ToV surely you should have access to all available vehicles each game.

    Panzernests

    I would like german panzernests to be able to because it would act like a suprise to the enemy and a deadly one at that.

    The panzernest would be unlocked with the Defensive Doctrine because i think it is very lacking in strength.

    the panzernest would be around the same armor as the bunker and would act like the bunker too but there is one thing that changes it is that it can go camo,hold-fire but cant house any soldiers.

    Personalized army

    Build, measure and test replacement types of units instead of the standard ones. Sell them separately as add-ons to the game.

    So, for example instead of Pz IV, I could buy a Pz IIIH medium tank (build and balanced by Relic). Or instead of a Puma I 'd buy a Pz II Lynx light reconnaisance tank.

    Now you could sell this for 5 euros a piece and we 'd build our own personalized army.

    Social channel in game

    Hello,
    I was wondering if there was to be a new CoH then I would like to have a total CoH experience and have a social channel plugged into the game. I enjoy watching replays and learning from the generals higher up the ladder and leaving the game and launching a browser is leaving me outside of the CoH world.

    If this social channel pulled in youtube videos, tweet, facebook mentions and the factual info which is happening on the CoHOnline website. If this channel provided all is info I wouldn't have to leave the CoH game, it would be a kind of dashboard.

    Thats my two cents on the issue of ideas for CoH
