The Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts Beta FAQ
- Will there be an Opposing Fronts beta?
- What is the difference between a closed and open beta?
The closed beta requires an Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) which explicitly prohibits public posting of game information not previously released in any form, it is conducted on a smaller scale and used to test for major imbalances and bugs, as well as tweak performance. The open beta allows the posting of pictures, discussion etc. of game content. It is generally a small balance and stability tweaking time. The open beta is also much larger. Neither beta is intended to act as a demo of the game, they are for trouble shooting.- When does the closed/open beta start?
The Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts Beta Download available and Beta Start on: Tuesday, July 31st at 9:00 AM PST; Starting August 29th, the Opposing Fronts Open Beta will begin. Anyone with a Fileplanet account can attempt to download and play the Beta. There will be key releases twice a week which will continue throughout the remainder of the Beta.- How do I get into the beta?
Currently there are two ways, fileplanet subscribers can enter the closed beta now, starting august 29th anyone with a fileplanet account can attempt to get a key, keys will be released on a continuing bases after that.
The other method was through one of several community contests, all of which are over. This was the only way into the earliest phase of the closed beta. If you do not receive a closed beta spot you will have to wait and try again for an open beta key.- If I won a beta key will I be able to play before fileplanet subscribers?

You should have already received a key, all Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts beta keys have now been mailed out. If you did not receive one that you won "please check your spam mail folders. If it isn’t there, please e-mail [Buggo] at ahenze@relic.com and [she]’ll sort out what happened."
The following is now oudated:
To claim your key, you MUST do the following: Send an e-mail to ahenze@relic.com with "<contestname>, <username>, <e-mail>" in the subject line (you do not need to include the angle brackets '<' & '>'). What to put in for the contest name will usually be found in the post by buggo in which you won the spot. The two relic forum contests are: RNQUICKFIRE and RNVETERANS OF beta key. If you did not win a spot do not email buggo, you will not receive one.

All players who played in the tournament should have received keys, if you did not see this bloggo post about tournament keys, community winners and fansite staff keys are still being dispatched.- Will the beta be standalone, can you play against the normal CoH?
- Can I give my key to a friend or sell it?
- I have this sweet screen-shot of the closed beta, can I post it?
