    I dont know, i was pretty happy with my Wehrmacht in the last patch of vCoH, with the fixed mortar damage and improved Nebelwerfer it was even better in the OF beta, but now they get buffed even more? I am not sure if that is not a bit to much love for them. I find that both old fractions were verry near optimal ballanced, so i did rather change the new ones to ballance them against the old then the other way around. The last handfull of games i did were a slaughter, the Wehrmacht / PE combo did go together much better then the Americans / British combo, since both Wehr and PE can move fast and support each other, but the British could not keep up speed with the americans. ( Talking of larger teamgames here )

    they dont need to be hasty when they can just drop a few sand bags and just say i win. they can cap the middle points in every map just as fast as any other side. If you are trying to play the British like the Panzer Elite you deserve to lose the game.

    doubt it the only factions now that can be described as OP is the PE and the British. However they british are very badly OP'd.

    More Wermacht buffs ! Guess it's all good but I'm still hanging for some serious improvements to the Americans. Good to see that bit about BARS though and the snipers vs trench cover higher accuracy improvements should be fun.

    I'm waiting for American buffs, the BAR is a good start, but they need early game buffs vs PE.

    You know, in vCoH, I would read the patch notes, and feel let down often times... but with these patches, each one I feel like they are all positive changes. Personally, I think they have vastly improved their patching process...

    As relic peruse the forums regularly I too would like to congratulate them on the frequency/content of patches.

    Still we are suffering from the couldnot connect to all players. This happens randomly. Out of 6 regular Aussie players we will get a random "red X". multiple reboots/relogs to relic can fix the problem. 10 plus relogs sometimes to get the connection fixed.

    Yeah, I'm much happier with the current approach of frequent smaller patches. This is far better than having to wait 1-2 weeks for a major patch.

    they fix many balance stuff but not the biggest prob in this game...the netcode

    From what I heard, the 1st official patch for OF will come on the day of the release which, is 25th of September.

    BTW, nice name...I haven't read The Necroscope since I was in highschool.

    I'm actually expecting 3 more beta patches before the 1st official patch by the 25th. Hopefully, the next beta patches will resolve a lot of major issues plaguing OF as it is now.

    I managed to connect to a game TWICE. Only times that has happened since I started playing the beta. Didn't happen anymore after that, though.

    The next ones probably going to be huge in terms of modifications. I'm betting on American buffs...and probably (I hope so) the Flakpanzer... damn thing just annoys me. Even just to see it.

    Pretty damn positive that there is a 2.77 patch in development, however this patch will probably take some working (so Monday to Friday) days to finish and release to the open beta as I foresee some major changes to the open beta balance. However I'm probably wrong and won't put my proverbial money on this as I"m having one of those days where some stuff is going wrong for me, like my ankle\foot\leg injury. IF I"m right then wicked more stuff to test and try and find a balance to so we can make the zero hour release day patch the best possible. ^^

    I'm a little concerned that we may not see another patch during the beta. If not, I certainly hope they address things, like the Scorched Earth bug, and hopefully a little more American balance, for the 0-day patch. Below is a copy/paste of something qduffy said in the GR forums.

    Ouch. *sympathy* I know the feeling, happened to me on the night of my NREMT-B practical exam, broken leg no NREMT-B for me! :/

    Anyways where did you find this information? Seems im probable to have another beta patch, as relic is probably working furiously on the 0-day patch. All that needs to happen is the Sector artillery for scorched earth needs to actually fire more than 1 (terribly inaccurate) howitzer every 8-10 seconds. I think that will balance things bit more.

    hmmm... three days testing to find any glaring issues and patch ready for release on release day of CoH: OF. Sounds resonable but I"m still not putting my proverbial money on this since I'm having a great run of luck at the mment NOT :P... presuming the USofA finally get their long awaited and said love (no not talking bout some puny BAR changes but some real love) then there should be a patch coming out tommorow maybe. Although they could need all their resources compiling patches as they have to update CoH and the release a CoH: OF patch. SO don't trust my opinions on this one cuase they could be horribly wrong... although I want that damn patch for American love v the PE since its a joke at the moment US v PE most times if not all the time.

    Agreed. Seems like my favorite army has been on the short end of the patching stick as of late. Maybe relic can use some of their wehr love and give it to the americans? Maybe its because people aren't used to ranger spams... Air/Armor need some hugs

    Americans as it stands cannot hold their own against panzer elite infantry. at all. I would highly suggest using the wehrmacht army, simply because a lot of things are better. Pio spam has been nerfed extremely (I wouldn't even try it). Nebel's are actually kinda of OP, yah im surprised too! A lot of things have been changed, look through the patch logs on this thread.

    They're basically balancing the old factions with the new ones (except Americans). You may have noticed that the last few patches were mostly about balancing the Wermacht vs the Brits...we were actually expecting a bunch of patches for the US this week that will balance them against the Panzer Elite.

    Long time, no (beta) patch. Probably most of us (especially American players) are getting a bit anxious as the 25th closes in.

    IMO, Relic better release one more patch before the 25th. This next patch would probably be the determinant in regards to the 1st week opening sales of OF. But as it stands now, if there aren't anymore beta patches, then a lot of people won't be buying OF on the first week. With this next patch (if there is one), the amount of issues it fixes prior to release of OF will most likely be proportional to the opening sales of OF. Ergo, more issues fixed = more units sold.

    I agree with your sentiments, regarding the things that need fixing, but I honestly don't think another patch will have a determining factor on sales numbers.

    If I had to guess, the number of casual COH gamers far outweighs folks like us and I would bet a lot have never laid eyes on the beta or know much about it. And a lot of folks, like me, will still buy it come release. /shrug

    dont forget, COH itself was NOT balanced perfectly when they released it, and the patches after release did a lot to improve the game (for the most part). I didnt get in the beta but i do plan to buy the game.
    Losing i can handle... losing a game due to internet crapping out on me, the Death of a thousand cuts.

    I never said I wasn't buying... I mostly play as axis anyway. I'm just speaking in general. I was also referring to the 1st week of sales...only.

    For Relic, the 1st week is probably the week when their holding their breaths and crossing their fingers. I'm almost sure that OF will be a big hit in the long run. But if they want their 1st week of sales to really break grounds and records... OF better have near unanimous acclamations from this community. For those who never even seen the beta...this is their point of reference.

    But lets not debate over this... I guess we're all a bit anxious with the patch and the release of OF in a few days.

    On the 25th...Go RELIC! Hope you guys have one hell of an opening week!

    v2.77 09/20/2007

    - Players now get distributed to teams evenly as they join.
    - Improved stats collection.

    Gameplay
    - Fixed a bug where Panzer Grenadiers would detect mines while garrisoned in a halftrack.
    - Combat system updates: System reverted to COH infantry combat. This is an experimental change and may affect game balance in the short term.
    - More V1 Fixes - fixed a bug where the V1 would fail if it was targeted on a unit that died before the V1 arrived. V1s should only target position, not entity.

    - Munition Halftrack cost reduced to 200mp/15fuel
    - Panzer Elite Defensive Operations cost increased to 150mp/30fuel
    - Panzer Elite Mortar Halftrack barrage tuned. 1 second added to each cooldown.
    - M8 Greyhound 37mm gun cooldown lowered to 7s from 9s.
    - American 76mm gun upgrade cost lowered by 15 fuel.
    - Sherman .50cal turret mount lowered in cost by 25 munitions.
    - Turret mounted machine gunners have their chance of death criticals reduced in most weapon categories.
    - Goliath has reduced chance of taking an engine critical from small arms fire.
    - Pak 38 vet 3 damage reduced from 1.25 to 1.15
    - On map American 105mm howitzers and all Flak 88 variants have their build times reduced.
    - British trucks have a small camo detection radius.
    - British Armour Command Truck and Field Support Truck have their sight radii tuned.
    - American Offmap artillery arrival delay reduced by 1s.
    - Volksgrenadiers get a new K98 rifle tuned vs tp_infantry_soldier. Damage increased to .65.
    - Fixed a bug that prevented scorched points from being repaired by troops other than Panzer Elite.

    EDIT: I hope the change back to the vCOH inf system stays. I had experienced enough simultaneous infantry squad member deaths to last me a lifetime.

    new patch (2.77) sounds like another step in the right direction. They still have to nerf rangers, but add a few more other buffs to americans, tho the sherman and greyhound buff is a good start.

    nice to see slight nerf to mortar HT.

    also i'm sure everyone will like the vcoh infantry combat change, really hope this stays.
