The southern polar region of Kharak? Nice, cool lands.
I bet DC wins.
The southern polar region of Kharak? Nice, cool lands.
I bet DC wins.
There one moment, and there the next.
#252
Oh, I think I have it now. Hmm.
Am I allowed another guess?
#253
No and No.
Remember; The Place has a name. Just saying 'Southern Polar Region' or 'The Guidestone Room' doesn't work.
EDIT:
Yeah Riess, Chip said you can make more than one guess.
P.S. : Your new avatar has left me confused. :haha:
EDIT 2: No, Starblade, it's not THAT obvious.
#254
Hiigara itself?
Where I stand/ Heat is killed/ by pleasant land: From Kharak to Hiigara.
The Truth came to me/ I saw reality: From Guidestone to Hiigara.
My Interceptor is better than your Interceptor.
#255
Sticking with my Majiir theme then: the Hunon Mountains.
#256
#257
#258
And I steal DC's answer and say it be the Observatory Temple.
the Angel Moon?
#261
No, No and No.
Holy Sajuuk, is this really so hard to guess?
Hint 2: It's from Homeworld 1, only in the manuals.
#263
A Name Daton. Not just "Soban-Sa's Village".
If it doesn't have a name, it is wrong.
EDIT: Daton, I mean to say that anything not having a proper name is not correct.
Soban-Sa's village didnt have a name. :bandit:
Possibly because he burned it to the ground anyway.
Daton
Is it the Nabaal City of Tiir?
#266
aussieman Wins.
The correct answer is indeed the Kushan's Northern Modern Polar Capital of Tiir, the location of the Kharak Diamid.
Tiir was founded by the Nabaal on the nothern pole of Kharak, where the climate was pleasant.
Archeologist Sagald brought the Guidestone, aka 'The Truth' to Tiir, resulting in the Exiles eagerness for Hiigara, the 'Age of Reason' and the Unification of Kharak. Not the mention the construction of the Mothership.
Go Auss!
Aw, foiled again.
Ok here is my riddle:
We found Salvation
After a long Journey
Our Past Forgotten
And so were we
#269
the Kushan race.
we found salvation: Kharak was salvation to them.
after a long journey: the long journey of exile from hiigara to kharak on board the prison ships.
our past forgotten: the kushan people forgot their past after landfall, this was stated VERY clearly in the game/manual.
and so were we: the kushan forgot their true heritage as hiigarans, thus they "forgot" themselves. Also, it might mean that the galactic council forgot about the Hiigarans after they were exiled to the rim of the galaxy.
Projenitor has it.
btw the "and so were we" refferes to one of the terms of the Hiigarans Exile set by the Taiidan, all memory of them was to be erased.
Your up for a riddle.
#271
Awakened, by insignificance of a larger power
Granted, war by raiders
Aligned, a defeated empire
Destroyed, by an asteroid's nightmare
![]()
#272
I'll give it a go and start the ball rolling. Hopefully it will help narrow down the possible answers.
Could it be the Taiidan Rebellion?
Awakened, by insignificance of a larger power - The Rebellion was awakened when Kharak burned. The larger power could be a reference to the atmosphere deprivation technology, since it makes no sense for the exiled Kushan to possibly to be a "larger power" than the Taiidan.
Granted, war by raiders - No idea on this one.
Aligned, a defeated empire - Refers to the Kushan, the defeated Empire. The rebels later allied with the Exiles at the Galactic Core.
Destroyed, by an asteroid's nightmare - Rebellious asteroid cities were ordered exterminated by Riesstiu when the Rebellion started. That, along with the Battle at Vorshan's Rift, almost destroyed the Rebellion completely.
This is probably wrong, but I just want to get one of the possible answers out of the way first.![]()
I have no strong feelings one way or the other.
Epilogue, Truth Seeker, Divinity - Book 1: Wrath of the Gods , Interstellar Odyssey
#273
The Beast. :haha:Is the almighty Troff wrong? (probably yes).
Awakened, by insignificance of a larger power - awakened by the Somtaaw, one of the smaller Kiith
Granted, war by raiders - erm uh... pass?
Aligned, a defeated empire - The beast aligned with the defeated Taiidan empire
Destroyed, by an asteroid's nightmare - Destroyed by an asteroid's nightmare - Somtaaw are asteroid miners, or could refer to the Leech's and the Nomad moon

#274
troff got it.we await your riddle.
and (Granted, war by raiders) refers to the turanic raiders, who attacked the kuun lan when she first released the beast. thus granting the beast warships and it's first war.
none of you remembered that?![]()
#275
I got it when I read the thread, but by the time I had read it, Troff already guessed. Oh well.
#276
I think I would be better at these if I had ever played HW:C or HW:2
But they're fun either way.
#277
it's a day passed troff.
if you're not going to give us a riddle i'll choose another.![]()
#278
Ok ok coming!
I'm gonna PM the answer to Progenitor, cause I won't have time to monitor this thread and I don't want to keep you guys waiting (and Progen will probably guess it anywayz)
I am he, who was nearly hunted to extinction.
I come from the surrogate world's southern wastes.
To kill me you must all attack with conviction.
I am deadly on land, and equally deadly in space.
#279
It's the kharakid Skaal species
I am he, who was nearly hunted to extinction.
-as stated in the manual it was hunted by kharakian warriors near to extinction
I come from the surrogate world's southern wastes.
-southern deserts of kharak
To kill me you must all attack with conviction.
-strategy how to attack it, as described the same for the Taii destroyer (sorry for being short with these points, i dont wanna go and quote the original texts :-)
I am deadly on land, and equally deadly in space.
-reference to the Taiidan male and female destroyer duo, which when used in concert are effective against all types of attacking craft.
Ave Qwaar-Jet!
"Once again shall the great seas of space run red ...with the blood of Hiigara"
#280
Correct but specifically it is the MALE of the species thus Skaal Tel and not the female.
Guess that was too easy... ok your turn now...
#281
i liked it. mine'll be much simpler.
i am so powerfull, just don't be behind me...
...or don't be too fast...
Fear the wrath of Your god,
For your capital ships shall perish in our deadly web
Considering some things... I'd have to say the Qwaar Jet.
"i am so powerfull, just don't be behind me..." - Qwaar Jet has poor coverage; attacking from the back ensures your safety.
"...or don't be too fast..." - The powerful turrets can't hit fighters, nor the ion cannons.
"Fear the wrath of Your god," - "Qwaar Jet" was the name of the god of pain and suffering on Kharak (or something along those lines). It's written in the Cataclysm manual.
"For your capital ships shall perish in our deadly web" - Web of crossfire of ions/turrets? I think I'll pass on this one...
There are some other ships that fit this description; however, I think the Qwaar Jet is the most likely...![]()
#283
Major problem with the taii cruiser is its poor coverage. But its damn cool looking.
#284
Ent just made it so easy since the Qwaar Jet was on his sig.
#285
close, but no. i have hoped the first ones would guess Qwaar-Jet, but that would have been just too obvious for me. Look at the wording more closely
Is it the infected Quaar jet in cata?
#287
I haven't guessed yet, but your clues point to a GODLY SHIP.
Our friendly godly ship is...THE SAJUUK.
Got that one from the 'web' part...Sajuuk's Point Defense Systems.
#288
technically, Qwaar-Jet was much closer.
and no, not infected Qwaar-Jet, though that's one kickass ship too. Strategically by far the most fitting for me.
Hmm, my clue is, look at the ship descriptions more closely. Watch the phrases.
#289
Since it's not Qwaar Jet, and it's not Sajuuk, and it's Enterprise posting the riddle, then...
... Vanaar Jet is my guess. Which is acceptable since DUST WARS is included in this riddle thread.
Vanaar Jet has, from your own descriptions, excellent point defences that would shred strike craft (AKA things that move too fast) and presumably, even anything that tried approaching from the rear. (The ion cannon tech used has very excellent coverage)
Meanwhile, capships would die pretty quickly since your Vanaar Jet is designed to be equivalent to the Hiigaran dread classes.
#290
Is that the Sajuuk Cor taiidani ion cannon frigate?
i am so powerfull, just don't be behind me... [technically an ion cannon frigate is useless if the enemy is behind it, and it is VERY powerful considering weapons technology.]
...or don't be too fast... [ion cannons can't track fast ships properly.]
Fear the wrath of Your god, [Sajuuk is what the hiigarans/kushan call their god]
For your capital ships shall perish in our deadly web [might mean the web of ion cannon fire seen since the only way for an ion cannon frigate to take down larger capital ships was to hunt in groups.]
#291
Congratulations, Progenitor got it!
Fear The wrath of Your god resembled Sajuuk-Cor's translation: God's wrath
and the thing with the deadly web was also directly taken from the description, where it was "...pin a capital ship in a web of deadly blue-white cutting beams..."
Now comes Progenitor's turn
Btw, Atmawpn im honored that You thought of the Vanaar-Jet :-)
#292
Woe unto the fastest of your warships
For I engage them the first, of my brethen
Eternal damnation they face
As the past gains new life in my release
#293
The Missile Destroyer.
Woe unto the fastest of your warships
Strike Craft
For I engage them the first, of my brethen
Eternal damnation they face
Missiles do a lot of damage to them.
As the past gains new life in my release
???
#294
close earthborn.
a small hint:
be more specific about the answer that you guess, as it may have many variants of itself. a hint is provided in one of the lines as to which one it is.
#295
Infected Qwaar-jet infecting Strike craft?
OR
'taaw Dreadnaught
Woe unto the fastest of your warships-
Missiles/infection beam loves little targets
For I engage them the first, of my brethen
Missiles/QJ can take a beating
Eternal damnation they face
Death/Beast
As the past gains new life in my release
Past-the missiles are an old weapon/beast
#296
don't relegate a phrase that you think is just an addition to the overall riddle into the useless category.
you're both close BTW.
#297
Kushan "Perdition" Missile Destroyer -
perdition= eternal damnation..duh![]()
#298
Missile destroyers introduced long outdated missile technology again, because of their ability to produce them internally, in the midst of combat. This made missiles effective again, as the ship wasnt rendered useless after firing it's initial load of missiles. As the past gains new life in my release
???
#299
correct E-E, on the explanation.
Void got the right answer. we await your riddle.![]()
#300
Small among my kin,
My original purpose harmless,
I can now bring down the mightiest of foes.
