Nesewdjet-Nedjety [2.18.2013 Epic Reaver Update]

Its not the arm but the way hes holding the sword, his hand is unnaturally bent holding it, maybe turn it up a bit to follow the line of the entire arm

Dude... you're only about two weeks late with your post there... He finished painting him on the 16th. Of course, that's only if you are talking about the plasma guy. If you are talking about the commander, you are even further behind the times. It's on to rhinos and 2nd ed landspeeders now!

I've got to say the pictures turned out pretty good. And I LOVE the idea of putting the current landspeeder stabilizer on the back-- Of course that may be because I suggested it to you

It looks great. I can wait till the speeder is done. Land speeders have always had a place in my heart.

Heh, no worries. I've done that before.

  6. #156
well after painting like a fiend yesterday and today, the speeder is nearing completion.

All that remains is the pilots arm and the base for this critter. Ireally need to figure out how to blend better with bleached bone and white. seems that those are the only colors that really give me issue.

    well here are the shots:

A cool model to begin with and I think you did a great job on them to suit! The overall style of the speeder is cool, and I like the helmets on the marines, sweet model to include in your army

It looks great but some weathering woyuld not be out of place.
    Still it is great work!

  9. #159
Thanks y'all. I'm hoping to get that arm finished up this week and then the base saturday. Given that these are supposed to look kind of like a transitional speeder variant between the new style and the old single fin style, I've been toying with the idea of some weathering. Haven't quite decided what to do or how yet. If I can find another I plan on getting a third of these old style metal speeders. One will look mostly like this one and the final will be a pristine specimen painted up to look like first company.

  10. #160
Ok, the speeder is finished. Just have to seal it once the weather settles down this weekend. Ok now back to the rhino.... or perhaps another tac squad. Here are the pics of the finished model. C&C welcome!

I am over come with the sweetness of it all. So awsome and the models look great. I do like that captain.

  14. #164
Thanks! I hope to have a squadron of 3 oldstyle multimelta equipped speeders and 3 new tornados by the time I'm done. I think I'll work up another tac squad now since I know that 5th won't affect those. I'm a little concerned that traits an extra armor prices whenever the new Marine codex comes out might affect how I built the dev squads and rhinos so I figure I'm safe with the other tac squad and it'll probably take me until then to get that and another speeder done

  15. #165
Well I decided to take a break from cleaning the next squad of marines and paint up some BFG ships. Texhnically they will be the Imperial Navy portion of the my Chapter's homeworld defense force. At the rate it takes to paint these I can probably finish the next 3 escorts and 2 cruisers next week.

Very good, you have any Space Marines vessels to join them or just Imperial Navy ships?

  17. #167
right now just IN, but I'm using the Segmentum Solar list so I'll eventually add in the marine component.

  18. #168
Finished up the firestorm blister last night, now on to the cruisers. These ships seem to go much faster than my 40k marines I might be able to get the last escort blister done by Thursday along with the cruisers if I work hard enough.

I must say, your colour scheme transfers beautifully onto the Landspeeder, and on the ships it looks fantastic. I really like the ornate look of the ships. It's very 'Imperial'

Thanks, Well I started the first two cruisers monday night and nearly finished them up but had to put it off till last night, and then I forgot my camera and couldn't get the pics uploaded till today, but here are the shots of the first capital ships, two lunars. Probably going to follow this with the two gothics sometime next week. The coloration is a bit different, going for more of a dirty gray while retaining the escort colors in the prow. I'll probably do the escort coloring on the Emperor though as the fleet flagship. The last pic is the fleet as a whole.

Ooo! They look nice . I've always had a bit of a fondness for BG, it's refreshing to see some ships here.

They look great! Very dignified, as should be vessels in His Navy.

Forged in Vulkan's fires, we are stronger than steel!

  23. #173
Thanks, with how fast these go I think I'll keep up with the fleet before returning to the next tac squad.

  24. #174
well this is the last of the escorts. I also got the two gothics put together and basecoated... I'm planning on starting in painting them tomorrow if I'm capable. Here are the pics of them and all of the escorts... just have to seal them sometime.

  25. #175
One question, how big are those ships actually, something like minis or bigger/smaller, comparison with a hand or something would help, just curious, and they look very nice

  26. #176
All this BFG talk lately makes me want to get some, even if I never played the game, I enjoy the models.

    Your stuff looks great Vaaish!

  27. #177
Thanks! I'm hoping to finish up the next two cruisers tonight since I didn't get quite as much time as I expected to have to work last night.

Until I can get some new pics taken, the bases all those ships are on are the small flying base that usually mount Tau gun drones so the escort classes really aren't that big. It probably takes about three or four hours to paint up three of them.

  28. #178
I got the two gothics done tonight, so here are the updated pics of them and the fleet. I hope to finish the mars over the weekend and possibly start in on the tyrants. That will leave just the battleship. I was in a bit of a hurry so these ended up a bit rushed on the metals. I was in a rush and I forgot the pics with scale references.

Brilliant scheme, and I like the way you painted the hull. The gold really stands out against the rest of the colours, well done.

Now I want more Battlefleet Gothic.

I hate this forum for one reason.
The painting is so good you want to go collect what ever it is imeadiatly and paint it your self.

  31. #181
Thanks, I still have five ships more to go. Going to try hard to finish up the two Mars BC this weekend and get the final two cruisers assembled and the battleship. If all goes well I should have the fleet finished up in a week and a half. Not a bad one month or so break to get a 2500 point fleet painted up. After that it's back to the tactical squad.

  32. #182
Could we get a comparison shot of the ships next to a space marine or other model? I've always wanted to get a BFG ship, for display only, but I'm not sure how big they are.

    Cheers,

Here is a quick comparison image of the cruiser and two of the escort types with a firewarrior Prometheus painted. I think the cobras are smaller and I don't know about the other races.

    ........Vaaish's models are worth..uhhhh..1,000,000 words...

  35. #185
Thank you for the comparison. They are certainly larger than expected.

  36. #186
Finished up the two mars class BC's Sunday. That leaves the 2 dominator and the emperor to assemble and paint to complete the 2500 point fleet. I started cleaning up the emperor last night too. Just have a little bit more to trim and it's ready for washing and preliminary assembly.

  37. #187
Well this completes my 8 cruisers. Finished sealing the 2 dominators tonight. That leaves only the emperor battleship to go. In a strange twist of fate, I accidentally sent the port mid turret deck piece into the jaws of the garbage disposal... Garbage disposal 1, Emperor 0. Fortunately when I called GW they agreed to send out the piece... which seems to be the entire kit, so now I have a second apocalypse battleship kit that I'm thinking of doing some conversion work with to make a Oberon.

  38. #188
I've been lurking on this one and thought I should finally pop in and offer some praise. I think that this is a fantastic project and I've really enjoyed watching your progress with these models. I think you've done a great job, especially considering the scale, and I look forward to each of your updates.

Thanks! I'm glad you like it. It's been a fun break from endless khaki on my marines and with the number of ships in a 2500 point fleet you basically have enough for two people to play so that makes it more useful

  40. #190
You know for me it's all the little things that make this a great looking team. I like the grieves and the attention to details of the force commander. I like that his sword looks like it's glowing with heat and not crackling with electricity. I love the base and the mixture of old school and new speeders. It give a feeling that this chapter has been around for a long while. The fact that you have a gothic fleet in orbit is just the icing on the cake. Can't wait to see a dreadnought, or a Chaplin, this team looks tight.

Well it's been a long time coming, but I finally finished up the minor conversion and painting of the fleet BB which, after I seal it tomorrow, completes my BFG diversion. Back to the Tac squad after this!

Beautiful ship, that final one (well, they all are). The eagle on the prow looks especially nice. I'm almost sad you have to go back to Marine after seeing your work on BFG!

Oh plz great vaaish honer us with a full fleet pic.
I have to agree with fire and steel, that is one nice prow.

  45. #195
Thanks! I will eventually get a full fleet shot posted, hopefully later tonight. The prow detailing took much longer than expected and I didn't finish the ship until about 1:30am last night so I didn't have time for much more than a few quick shots and dropping in a few other ships.

  46. #196
ok here is the pic of the entire fleet:

Tim - Oh, it's not baaaaa...aaaaa....aaaa.....aaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! It's like the devil p*ssed in my mouth!!!

  48. #198
That's really great looking Vaaish, I am super jealous! If those models weren't so shamefully expensive (for me), I'd buy some :P

  49. #199
Thanks! this has been a very fun project for me. And honestly on a 40k budget, it's pretty inexpensive. That entire fleet cost around $120 US and it's 2500 points, well over the average game size.
