Good. I don't work today (laundry day heh) so in between drying my clothes and folding them, somebody fixed my predicament.
That's another 44.99 for Sierra today.
While minimum system requirements are meaningful, they hardly tell the state of a computer. You can have a great CPU, and a borderline GPU and you'd probably have worse performance than me (I have a good GPU, and a 500mHZ Cpu).
Sierra putting that in as a requirement is just not great thinking...people are gonna buy it, and their gonna try and install it no matter what. While Sierra may save a bit initially, the stores that they ship to aren't goign to be that happy if they have a lot of returns for HW2.
Well now I gotta go buy it. Guess I'll buy the strategy guide also- never bought one of those but...I want this one![]()

Well they won't be reading this then, I suppose. You're welcome to start a doorknock if you like.
Did you copy the CD to your drive, and then install using the new .dll file? If so, and it's still going black, make sure you've got updated video drivers.Originally posted by Dirty_Ships

Hi all. i cant download the file if somebody has the file please send me it by e-mail here: gsancr@hotmail.com. thank you.
could somone plz send me that damn file, i cant download it either
mytsike@hotmail.com
strange. i have no problem downloading...it kinda lagged a bit for me while it got the file info, but it was just keeno fine after that.
This is part of the reason specs exist. Your card probably doesn't have the hardware support to run homeworld. I.e. it is physically impossible for your computer to run it. Maybe it lacks HW T&L or something, but either way, you're outta luck (probably).Originally posted by Dirty_Ships

In his situation, I think he's only got an 8mb vid card, and the installer doesn't check for the vid card... just CPU.
does the fix work with the Demo as well ?
(HW2 not yet in Belgium)
Send it in a email to wildcard@evoteam.net
Thanks

Can someone mail me the "dll4wise.dll" file. Ta, I've managed to get the ZIP file but whenever I unzip it I can't find the file ??!
What programs did you use to copy the game cd? I used CloneCD and Alcohol 120 and am unable to edit the image... Any help will be appreciated.

Horatio:
Just copy the CD to your hard drive by opening it, doing a select all, then a file copy. Go to your hard drive, find a spot for it, (create a hw2 folder), then paste it in there.
Then overwrite the dll4wise file with the one you download.
If you can't see the .dll file (or any .dll files) it's because you have hidden files...well hidden. You can change this by opening a folder (any folder works) and go to the menu and do:Originally posted by phstacey

view->folder options->view
then go the 'hidden files'
select 'show all files' and 'apply'
and now you should be able to see the file.
How Do I coppy it from CD to HDD? PS: are their any problems with running it on with XP?
NM to that one, I didnt notist your post about the fle copy.
That's a waste. It'll install but it won't be playable (i.e very low framerates.

You need to overwrite the dll that you have there with the new one. The downloaded dll doesn't have the check for the minimum CPU speed.
"could not load the dll library"
that´s the result
ok its installed now but i can´t play it!
i start it but i see an black screen for a few seconds
after that i´m on my desktop
