Anyway, the patch has dropped -- hopefully things are the same across all territories now.
I'm really sorry about the delay. We've all been working hard to make things go smoothly, and this was as fast as we could make it happen.

... except... i just tried to launch the game which downloaded the patch (AGAIN) and i still get the same error (AGAIN), even after uninstalling and reinstalling the game (AGAIN)!! I can't believe how much i am now hating what was my favourite game and one of my fav game companies!
It's not the fault of the developers who have made a great game and who work hard on a patch - the problem is with policy, specifically the enforced patching system. Hasn't it occurred to anyone that the quickest temporary fix would be to take down the "enforced" patching system to allow Australians to at least play the game without having to patch or disconnect their network??!! At least stop enforcing the patching system for the duration that users are having problems with it??
The only reason this game hasn't gone back to the shops yet is cos i reckon it was a reasonable price, so i'll give the problems some slack - this is a game i've chosen to support. But i can't risk hanging on to the game past the 7-day refund policy timeframe if i can't get online gaming going before then! I don't care about the patch, i just want to be able to play something i've paid for!

Well I installed the game which takes forever.. AGAIN !!
Like the other guy and AGAIN it downloaded the patch and AGAIN it had the error and deleted my install... so its not detecting my australian version and downloading the shit patch again.
Can U guys please just put up a link it would make EVERYONES lives much easier.

Ok saying the patch is LIVE then just leaving everyone in the loop is pretty piss poor.
And the patch obviously isn't as alive as I thought cuz even after doing EVERYTHING you said , clearing all old patch info and uninstalling everything then reinstalling it still downloads a jizzed patch. A download link for the patch would of solved everyones problems and made life that much more easier. But that would of been the smart thing to do

I just tried to reinstall, got a 10104 error.
Followed this procedure, to get the result below.
1. Uninstall any and all vCOH & OF installations and delete my documents COH folder.
2. Install OF.
3. Use autopatcher to patch.
4. Add vCoH key to OF installation.
Megabyte .. ur thanking them.... it Isn't even FIXED yet.

It doesnt recognise my australian version and download a "special" patch so just POST A GOD DAMN LINK TO THE AUSTRALIAN PATCH and then we won't have these BS problems with the BS auto update feature on relic online.

Alrite..no silly words, but I'm really disappointed with relic this time.
The autopatcher, really pissed me off as this never be a good thing to me in many games, almost a trouble maker to me..especially this time. I spend many hours try to get the game working but still no luck. Its not vista problem, I'm using xp, and I'm pretty sure I have a "clean" re-installation as I format another PC to do only for this game.
I just want to say there's some place in the world like australia have download limit for most of the boardband internet service. I've try re-install and download the patch many times following the "instructions" and wasted me plenty of hours and download usage. If it still can't be fix in the next 2-3 days I rather just go refund and get an illegal overseas copy. Dun force a relic supporter to do this....
This is not a minor bug but a serious technicial fault which shouldn't be happen for a popular game title like this. I appreciate for the effort of the relic team to make this such a good game, but shameful to the one who're not aware of/fix the issue prior to the game release in retail. For now, even recall from retails is not an option, but at least I think should inform the retails of the issue, its not fair for the buyer not knowing this problem.

Is there an official OF web site that releases a progress/update on the misfortunes of us aussies? The OF site lists media release as "Coming Soon". Pretty poor effort on Relic if we have to rely on heresay forums to get an update on something thats been broken for a few days now. Im sure there are many gamers out there in the dark as to why they cant get this to work.

I dont know why they didnt leave up the ENAUS patch. I used it at everything seems to be running fine. Might re-install and get the "official" one when it has been confirmed to work though just to be sure.
Just in case people are still looking for the md5sum - I just downloaded it and it is
Download md5sums from http://www.pc-tools.net/win32/md5sums/, then drag and drop the patch onto the md5sums.exe. could there be a caching issue in australia? i.e. are the local hosts caching the old patch on their servers? you might want to check this.
