People are just waiting for the auto-patcher mirrors to catch up, so it provides the latest version of the patch (not the old one if it is cached). That is the only problem remaining.
It would be nice if sites that normally host patches (like internode etc.) also linked to the AUS_EN patch - the good thing about patching manually is you don't have to reinstall because you tell it which patch to apply explicitly.
Is it possible someone can torrent it, then post the torrent? Or use one of those file upload sites, eg www.megauploads.com or somesuch. I'm still have serious trouble with the autopatcher, it takes a good 10 minutes just to download a meg. I was really looking forward to at least playing it once this weekend

Yeah i have just used the autopatcher and its fine. Thanks Relic for fixing this so quickly, even if it was a little disappointing for those of us who got the game early.
The reason this thread has slowed down to a crawl is that the new patch works!

I posted up the link to TinyFly on both GA and Internode and they still havent mirrored it. I'll see if i can get it hosted elsewhere.

does this patch update only apply to aus owners?because im in the us but still cant patch or play singleplayer if i disconnect my internet.
I think it may have created a bug, can other people check for me and make sure i'm not the only one?
In saved games created before AND after the new working patch was applied i cannot allocate general points. They build up to ridiculous amounts (my record so far is 23 on the final British campaign mission). You can open the tab and select what you want to apply them to, and when you close it they stay the same and no changes are made.
This only happens in save games. If you have applied them before you save, the skills you selected are still there when you load, but you cannot climb any further up the tech tree once you load the game.
It does not happen if you load a level from scratch, which is what i've had to do with both campaigns, just not save my game, and load each map from the campaign menu.
Sorry for the novel, but i thought if it is a new bug i've discovered you would want to know the ins and outs. So can anyone else confirm this for me?

Ok, I went out to buy OF today. My CoH installation is still at the last patch before the 1.8 gig patch (1.71 or whatever the version number is). I'm installing OF now.
So I do not have to worry about anything then, just let the autopatcher do its thing?
Ok, so the autopatcher was no help. After applying the patch (have no clue what it was because it was a different installer) the game crashed at the loading screen after the intro movies. Not happy.
Now I'm doing a complete clean uninstall of everything remotely related to CoH, and reinstalling. If this doesn't work, I'll be extremely pissed as I expect a game to work straight off the bat when I put down $100 in order just to have the rights to play it.
There should be Anzac reskins of the Tommie squads available to only Australian/New Zealand customers released as compensation to the crap we have to deal with.
if you dont patch the game and unplug internet when starting it,the singleplayer plays alright,i had 3 crashes in the beginning but after that smooth sailing.im not even bothering with the patch yet...

Mine worked straight after getting the patch from shadow. I had massive slowdown when trying to use the autopatter, NFI what it was, but i'm hoping it'll be fixed by the time the next patch is released.
I new, fresh install can do amazing things, even if it is stupidly painful and slow to do. Hopefully that'll fix everything for you
I'm really looking forward to giving Jason some shit tomorrow about their fuck up with all this, it'll be fantastic... he'll deny everything of course though...

Is anyone else having a problem adding their original CoH to the products list? It keeps telling me that it can't validate the media.
Auto patch is working fine. (now)
To install it you must uninstall O.F. then go back in and delete the remaining files under your drive: -> Program Files -> THQ -> Company of Heroes.
Note you may need to delete the files in this folder in reverse to get rid of them.
Then you MUST go to My Documents -> My Games -> Company of Heroes and delete this folder and all of it's contents.
Then you can reinstall O.F. download the patch via the auto updater and then log on to Relic online.

hey, this is my first post here and to be honest i wish it was in happier times.....i uninstalled/deleted all vcoh stuff....tried installing opp.fronts, i dont have the patch issues cos i cant even get the fu@@%$g cd key in...."invalid cd key entered" ....bought this game at 3 pm today (sunday)...its now 1:51 am on monday and still no joy....
just re installed my vcoh. updated patches....1.0 - 1.4, 1.4 - 1.7, 1.7 - 1.71, 1.71 - 2.101.....will try the "add product to vcoh" method????
p.s. i got the patches from www.gamershell.com.....2.4mbps..fromthe iinet server..(and i been shaped to 64kbps..

If your Opposing Fronts CD key isn't working when you attempt to install OF, thats a different problem all together.
Have a look through the tech assistance subforum here to see what you can do to fix it.

well at 5 30 am i got it working.....USING A DODGY CD KEY OFF THE NET
can only play single player,...no LAN, and only english or panzer....
i used my LEGAL cd key for the relic online thing and got banned...
makes me wonder why i wanted to buy this one rather than use dodgy versions like usual??????

they most probably all have red X's next to them? find one with a white numerical ping

Ok fantastic! I have uninstalled and reinstalled for the 4th time now and downloaded the patch for about the 6th time. This time instead of auto patching i decided to download from the link just about the ENAUS patch.
Wonderful it gets past the engine.sga file and gets to the fullenglishspeech.sga and crashed with the same error message as usual. So i try again and it crashes on reliconline.sga now every time i try.

If you still have problems installing the patch then your problem is probably more than just a faulty dvd. I've seen a lot of patching errors related to hardware problems with past Relic games (especially coh). Start a new thread on the tech support forums and post the relevant info from the stickies plz.

Please remember to delete all trace of all folders including the folder under My Games.
Then install OF.

I have a patched up version of vCoH (which works fine), and am thinking of getting OF soon, would i still have to do the full uninstall and reinstall or whould i just be able to add the cd key (with the add product option) to my patched up version and not have any problems?

You'll need to fully install OF to get the new faction audio and the new campaigns.
It looks like the install/patch issues relating to Australia have been fixed so should be fine.
i tried to add the CD key from COH, but i said invalid media, any1 know the solution?

Just a quick question, I don't mean to hijack the thread:
I recently bought COH:OF retail but I haven't installed it on my PC yet. I already have vCOH installed. What do I have to do so that I can play COH:OF online and in single player, avoiding as many problems that I've been hearing about as I can? Help appreciated.
Also, I hear COH:OF uninstalls vCOH. Is this true? How am I supposed to play vCOH when I install COH:OF if this is the case?

OF contains everything CoH has, so instead of doubling up on the disk space, it saves you space by having it all in the one place.
The best way to avoid any problems is to remove CoH completely from your PC before installing OF.

One other question before I do, though. I've just read a whole heap of forum threads about the problems with Relic online and OF in general. I intend to play through the single player campaign and then spend a lot of my time online.
Since the game is still boxed, should I actually return it because of all the problems that are being reported? Will I spend more time regretting than playing OF? A straight yes or no answer would be the most valuable.

Most of the problems are exaggerated.
If your just playing the game for more of the single player then you should have no real problems. Even if the server goes down, all you have to do is insert your DVD into you primary drive to play offline.

You said you played more offline than online, I didn't want to waste your time.
I'd rate the overall performance of OF at around a 8, the Single player works great, the only problem is the online server is currently experiencing corruption problems. Which should be sorted out this week I believe.
Sweet. I opened the box as a result of your post. God help you if I'm not playing online in less than 10 minutes :P

I've installed it, looks like all the problems are history now. Except the connection errors when connecting to games in the lobby, that is -_-

I'm sorry you feel that way, but luckily I seem to have had few problems at all with OF. Connection errors in the lobby being the main one, but other than that, OF is awesome.
