    Not exactly a whole lot is slow about the movements of their "slow" units other than the fact that they don't have transports (assuming you discount tomb spyders), and pariahs and immortals have to hoof it (again, immortals only if you discount tomb spyders).

    Every other unit only moves slow while fighting. They all have a teleport on an individual cooldown, and flayed ones have deep striking without a cooldown. (Deep strike, recall, deep strike)

    You basically don't run into a single necron mobility problem unless you're playing on gigantimous map and the other player's abusing half his vehicle pop full of transports to keep running away as he attacks your oversized base.

    From what I've seen, Necrons don't really get played near as much as the other races....one thing that could be nerfed, make them less BORING to play. They really don't have a lot of versatility. Are there any offical necron units that are not currently in the game? I'd like to see the normal NW get their damage split so they do the same to vehicles as troops (flatten the damage) so that immortals can drop their anti armor role and become a elite choice like termies or possessed, that do greater damage across the board than their NW counterparts.

    Edit: Hmmm looks like the Tomb Stalkers (tomb spyder titans) are all that were left out

    As far as I know they are not in the necorn codex anyways, and with the word titan in the description they sound way too big for DoW.
    The deceiver will be in soulstorm.

    NWs countering both infantry and vehicles was imbalanced, try play 1.11. Besides, making them counter everything and immortals becoming super verions that counter everything would be considerably more boring than it is already.

    I do like the split reaserches into HP/speed and damage/range as a diversity option.

    The only way to make them more interesting is to up their move speed, so (assuming for one second, an equal fight) instead of your units being effective being a function of your enemy's micro versus your cooldowns, it becomes a function of your micro too. I mean, that part was plainly obvious to everyone to begin with, really.

    Quite frankly, giving necron warriors tac-like move speeds and sub-tac ranged damage, upping their range to the old values, then heavily bumping the later disruption field researches scaling their shooting, would turn them into a good melee unit that deals with being outsquadded due to cost efficiency in tier 1. Perhaps buff morale to compensate, as well. At least then you have to try to put them into melee with something, and they can inflict losses on the way.

    Right now they win if they shoot, they win if they fight, and they win if you run away, so what micro is involved other than telling them to move to cut off the enemy retreat pre-emptively and get more standstill shooting time in instead of attack-moving?

    Necrons Crons, Boring?

    Having been a stoic nec player since the release of DC i have always been happy with their tactical diversity. While it is true that they have a limited range of units compared to other races they play distinctively at all tiers. If you want to win regularly with necs there are a lot of factors you need to take into account. The most pressing of these are the artifact choices of the lord. If you pick the wrong things for the wrong enemy you can find yourself in serious trouble. Also, while they are slow moving the tomb spider provides the army with a highly reactionary element as they allow the nec player to change the make up of his army as he advances. However i do believe that when you know haw to use them they can be a little over powered, hence the soulstorm eco nerf. We'll have to wait and see if they've over done it but i'm expecting them to be an interesting challenge after the overhaul.

    On the contrary...ask any Tau or Eldar player when they have the most problems with Wraiths...it's tier 1, not tier 2.

    I agree. Wraiths are too spammable and too effective vs tau and eldar and especially IG!. One stupid wraith can tie up or chase(chasing is just as effective) an entire squad of xyz shooty units. They should be capped at 2, be weaker, and should serve the role they were meant to serve...detection and decapers.

    An alternitive fix would to move them to tier 2.

    If I could change only one thing about the necrons, out of all the problems they have, I would definatley change wraiths

    tier 1 wraiths suck, they die to fast. In tier 1 just use lord with chrono and solar, 3x nw and some fo to block enemy troops. use tier 1 wraiths to harass lps, they aint good for anything else in tier 1

    I assure you, they are. Wraiths are very powerful in T1. For 0/60 you can make a unit which will render a 430/30 Reaper squad completely useless. You think they're too weak? When they're low on health you simply phase and repair them. Yes, that's right, you can repair wraiths. With their speed there's no way the Reapers are going to catch them, you can easily keep a Scarab squad just out of sight of the battlefield and ensure your wraiths can continue to chase forever. While you're doing that you can be ecobooming and throwing in a few Necron Warriors to score even more kills while the Reapers run in pointless circles.

    Generalchaos is currently #8 on ladder (skillcronz), so I guess he has a point.

    I think he means there are better alternatives in T1 than wraithspam, not that wraiths are worthless.

    Well yeah that's the idea. If Wraiths or anything else are still an issue in Soulstorm then we make another thread. This thread's for DC 1.2 Necrons, and it's run it's course.
