For some reason, I cannot capture the the Battlecruiser in this mission. I cant figure out why, this is giving me a migrain >.<
When the Marine Frigates are done boarding, they fly away but the BC still isnt under my control. When I try to board it again, they just start shooting at it and refuse to board. Am I doing something wrong, or are these cruisers not allowed to be captured?
If you already have the maximum BC's your allowed to build, you need to Retire/Scuttle one of them since the Vaygr BC takes up one of those slots.

Although the Bc sometimes has a nifty hyperspace module, remember that it cannot be upgraded.
I found this one surprisingly simple.
I had a full complement of bombers when the level started. While harvesting started and I was waiting to see what nasties would emerge, the first Vaygyr force turned up on my 2 o'clock. I sent the bombers straight at the carrier and wiped it. They died, but wth!
I then aligned my 4 destroyers, BC and Dread in front of the MS and set to guard it. I then used all me corv's fighters etc to guard the BC. The 2'clock remaindewrs never showed up till later and I had great delight as the 12'o'clock Vaygry forces were wiped in seconds again and again everytime they hit me defense wall. 12 Torpers were placed between the screen and MS. I was making money, barely losing a ship and had collected the 2 side cores by now. I then set everything to guard the BC, built 2 more as it slewed it's way through the wreck and punched some serious damage throught the 12 o'clock Vaygyr.
The destroyers cleaned up the bigger guys while me fighters and corvs just kept annoying and doing the sweeping up afterwards.
I then set to collecting all resources and now ready for Miss 12.
Just send a probe to any of the locations first and all will work fine.

Intelligence on Mission
Three group of Vaygr force will converge into this mission area. Their size and strength can vary depending on the size of your fleet. The Vaygr attack will commence soon after one of your ships pick up readings on one of the radiation fields in this area. All Vaygr forces are suited against radio-hazards.
As long as you don't pickup any reading on radiation fields, the Vaygr will not attack. It means you'll have time enough to research, build Battle Cruisers, harvest resources or even circle around battle field with all necessary ships to surprise the incoming Vaygr!
Vaygr Diversionary/Salvage Fleet emerges out of hyperspace near a resource field at 2 o'clock position of Bentus ruins. Your Fleet Intelligence will alert you of their arrival. Their mission is to recover the Hyperspace Core of Bentus. This force consists of a Carrier, a salvage team (resource collectors) and a large fighter escort, 3 or more destroyers and numerous Assault/Heavy Missile Frigates. Their size varies, depending on … you know.
In the mean time, Vaygr Strike Force Wave 1 emerges out hyperspace near a resource field at 11 o'clock position of Bentus ruins. Their objective is neutralize your fleet. They consist of a shipyard, some Destroyers, numerous Frigates and some Attack Bombers.
Vaygr Strike Force Wave 2 emerge out of hyperspace a few minutes later to reinforce the Diversionary/Salvage Fleet's position. Fleet Intelligence will notify their arrival (by saying "Vaygr Forces are using shielded carriers to navigate the area). This fleet consists of a Carrier, one Battle Cruiser and some Frigate/Strikecraft escort.
Vaygr Battle Cruisers are reported to build hyperspace modules and try to hyperspace near Mothership.
I failed the mission, oddly because I couldn't figure out which strike force was whose. I'm fairly sure that one of the carriers tried for the 9 o'clock fragment because after destroying everything on the map, (everything I could SEE, anyway), I got a mesage saying mission failed. In the heat of battle, I'd forgotten whether I took out one or two carriers though, so maybe I left one.
The way I figure it, if you don't kill the carriers ASAP you lose. IF you don't kill the shipyard, it (eventually) builds so many ships you die.
I'm going to have to try the "mover shield" method to keep the fragments safe indefinitely. What kind of forces to the Vaygr send after the fragments?
Also, can someone teach my lame ass some capture technique? I am always trying to time my Marine Frigate insertion properly. But too soon, and they get chopped up (as in when enough Vaygr forces remain to cover each other), or too late, and there's nothing left to capture. I'd like to get the Vaygr BC, but until I actually learn how to capture ships....it's just more Marines down the tubes...
Sorry for the noob question, but how do I activate my Defence Frigates' shields? I think the reason I can't get to the fragments is because the DF's shields aren't up.
PS: I've researched the anti-radiation tech for the DF.

to activate DF shield, go to special actions vertical bar in the lower left side of ?action? bar, u have your regular actions then you click the thin vertical bar to get to the special actions. alternatively, hit f10 to go to menu then options then keyboard config to find the kybd command to active defense field--looks like the letter T after u click on ur DF frig.
anyways, has anyone found the hyperspace equipped BC after installing the 1.1 patch?
