Can anybody confirm that the 25 pounder can now hit something remotely close to what you aim it at (as opposed to obliterating a hill or building 20 yards beyond it)?

I can confirm that it does now hit closer. It was adjusted for just that reason and is listed in the change log.
Thank Relic. That thing was disgustingly inaccurate.
As a wehrmacht player who likes his stukas and tanks, i was pretty thankful that brit artillery never hit anything.Ive still to play a game with the new patch so ill be wary when fighting brit 3v3's on the schdmitt.
Even still, I'm certain you understand what it's like to not be able to hit anything-- just immagine if your rocket arty spread so much that it never actually hit the intended target even once.
To accurate also isnt good. Especially with counter artillery. nebels shoot, nebels walk away and the shell will never hit them. Hey melissa are you hanging around the coh forums until you get soulstorm?
Don't forget on some rare occasions you hit friendly units which weren't even close to where you set the artillary to be.
I did not mind the overshoot that much. You just had to aim a little different. Sometimes it sorta was like having a mini creeping barrage...
I was 25poundering away last night on the hochwald map and it's better in los but when firing inot the fow (at bloody hummels) it's still hit and miss
Remember that you still need LoS for anything approaching good accuracy.

Nope, I actually play CoH more than I do DoW nowadays, as CoH is my more recent purchase.
Personally, I still prefer the nebel arty, but that's probably just because sending waves of rockets at the enemy is much more fun than indirect cannon fire.
I agree. There is something about sending a bunch of rockets to your opponents base. Its even more effective if you use 2 or 3 even. Your intended target lives but everything around it gets it.
When I played the first Brit mission when we reached Caen in 2.103, I'd have a hell of a time hitting those MG/mortar/garrisons to the west that was killing Bcoy, but yesterday I had no trouble (as a mtter of fact, my first round shot hit the targeted MG42 position directly).
P.S. Cheatmod make it very easy to get 25ers that early![]()
it's also the screeching sound of the nebels, makes me feel good about myself haha.I agree. There is something about sending a bunch of rockets to your opponents base. Its even more effective if you use 2 or 3 even. Your intended target lives but everything around it gets it.
