Oh noes! I think I found this out the hard way, after reinstalling the skins I tried playing some online games only to meet our good friend Mr. Sync Error after the first 30 or so seconds of gameplay. They worked in skirmishes but any online game would crash with a sync error. Uninstalling the skins fixed the problem... That's a real shame as I love those skins and particularly the new HT's.Originally Posted by luciferum
Any ideas on how to get around this? For now if I had to choose just one I personally like the Infantry HT skin the most and it's the one I use the most in game. Relic seems to have stuck it to the mod community with this one not just with this but also with the -dev command not working anymore. Hope we find a way to get these HT's working again soon!
Yes, it works in Skirmish and Singleplayer. Only multiplayer seems to be broken due to Patch 2.300.Originally Posted by lukeman

Well ... for those who could be lost...
The skins are working online, I mean if only the files related to ww2Art.sga are installed.
If the Attrib.sga is modified, it won't work.
The consequence is we are loosing the hability to set a different skin fo each different type of halftrack... Sooo bad ! I worked quite a lot on them.
Yep, Skins work for me. I'm using these skins and using Halftracks Wehrmmacht and American skin packs for vehicles and infantry and am having no problems.
Also, can't wait for you to do some more skins for the British, even though alot of the Brit units already look awesome.
when i choose the luftwaffe tree the k-rad is his skin to default
Well, I think that comes because the Luftwaffe-Kettenkrad uses another texture... It has the camo-ability, so it has a camo-texture.![]()

Thats right Shaverman, the Luftwaffe Ketten uses it's own texture, or atleast a variation of it.
Luciferum, is there a Luftwaffe variation in the works, or has that just been skipped over?
my attrib.sga is modified, i've gotten couple of sync errors, dont know whether if its related to the skins or not, yet but as of now my online games work.
EDIT
Yeah, the same crap is happening to me. It's only when the Luftwaffe doctrine is chosen, I don't understand what is causing the error, but I'll take a look in my spare time.
EDIT2
Strange, whatever doctrine, from SE to Armor, my game crashes as soon as the Scout car comes out from building process..
Any leads from anyone on why this might be happening?

It's an action_apply in the ebps.
There's a separate Kettenkrad diffuse texture the same folder; reskinning it will solve the problem.
Panzer Jager, my game is struck with the sync error has soon as i build a scout car, how is re-skinning it solve the problem exactly?
Don't you just think that any change on AttribArchive.sga is the cause of synchronisation problem ?
What is sure is only changes on ww2Art.sga don't cause any problem to play online.

Luciferum! Your tommies look awesome! I got around to having a good look at them ingame finally yesterday and i'm absolutely impressed. You mentioned a touchup of the Commandos, any chance of sappers being redone too?
I haven't looked yet, but did you reskin the riflenades variation of the tommy too?
Well, new skin on tommy should apply to rifle grenade... no time to check for that now...
Not sure yet what to do on sappers... but according osprey book, sappers were wearing olive green outfits...
Working on KingTiger right now... a big big piece of work because base skin has to be recreated...
A little sample of the work in progress :

Looks very nice.

Think you could put up an alternate download with just the modified textures? Downloading 500+ MB is a bit much, even if the skins do look incredibly awesome!
Those with the know-how can just patch their own files.

PJ:
Sure... this is just a draft, as you know my draft models tend to be always flashy
Decimus:
The +500Mb file is just a pack including several other mods on which my 0.28 mod is added.
If you want only my 'light' mod... just look above on the web page and DL it. It's arround 20Mb... take HSM v0.28.

He he, two tone Tiger II!
The pattern looks rather promising.
KT needs big change but I still dont like how prominantly you are making the red in your skins, especially the KT. I think a darker brown would do better.
Treizoz:
Check historical books and you might discover that the brown used by germans from 1943 could appear almost red according the process used to apply the paint... The brown is called red-brow and the official 3rd reich designation is RAL 8017
looking forward to Luciferum to the KT!
Was the red tone actually really created by applying the color, or was it intended to be so reddish? Because, RAL 8017 itself really looks much more brownish. Actually, it's todays name is "Schokoladenbraun", chocolate brown.Originally Posted by luciferum
Besides this, the camo looks promising.
sure.. all the colours are too bright on this preview...
I'm also working on PE Pz IV, I can finish quicker...
here is a preview... colours need to be desaturated and markings removed...

I figured as much but im downloading skins for looks that I enjoy, not for their historical accuracy if they detract from the cool factor.
The new PE pz4 looks great though, I wish you would transfer that style of brown to the KT
hey guys.. don't worry too much for the KT... I just wanted to show I'm working on it and the pic was one of the multiple test I'm doing. I won't release a red KT !!! lol

New shot of the PzIV without markings and colour adjusted... still have to make new markings and skirts

nice colors
...I wanna have it.![]()
Definatly the best PE PzIV skin I've seen so far.
Hi
You may notice my painting factory restarted aiming to finish Panzer Elite Skins quite quickly.
On it's way, PE PzIV (previously shown), Winblewind, Panther...
Tunings on Sdkfz are still planned.
The following shot has been made on wordbuilder so it appears more brighter than in game.
Good work, only the Balkenkreuz seems to be a bit too clean.
But I guess it is not the final version.
looks really nice
your skins are pretty good![]()
i like it ^^

Luciferum, i poked around the other day and there are "issues" with the Tommy. When upgrading to the Rifle nades, the unit's change to a role variation with some pouches disappearing and a haversack appearing on the left hip. The problem is the haversack on his left hip remains khaki and not green. I thought i'd pass that on since no one else seemed to notice it.
Good luck with the pack, and i'm especially looking forward to more Brit infantry skins!
Lethal:
I played a lot with my tommy skin and didn't noticed the problem you're talking about.
One the other side, I don't especially zoom on the units all the time
Well, I will try it ASAP.
I would also like to know if some people noticed this touble too.
I will check the alpha channel of the map to see if there's no mistake with it.
Does anyone know how to show role variations with worldbuilder NIS? This would be helpful and easier to check some problem..
I don't know also how to make the PE PzIV appear with the NIS.... Help would be welcome.

Below the last preview for the wirblewind which will be released very soon in a new update of HSM mod.

Looks good.
On the second Picture also the "Balkenkreuz" looks better.
Can't wait.![]()

Luciferum, i'll try to post some pics asap for you. BTW, i noticed that your Luftwaffe Ground Forces skin has some little "issues", namely the skin doesn't meet at the back of the model and leaves a nasty slit down his back, as well as a similar thing down the inside of his thighs (can't believe how dsirty that sounds).
I think i remember you saking once if it's possible to remove the container and zeltbahn roll off his back, well i't s possible and it looks pretty good as i use if for the PE's weapon_flak_crew, however with your skin theres the slit down his back, however it's not there when i do the same for the standard Relic skin, so it's just your skin that doesn't quite reach.
Edit: Pics of the tommy are up.
Your Tommy unupgraded

Lethal:
Ok for the tommies role variation.
Actually, some of the bags and pouches are not repainted which explains some sand brown appearing...
I will fix it ASAP.
For the Luftwaffe field soldier, I would like to see some pics of the problems you're talking about...
For the "backboxes", I tryed to erase them but some corner parts still appear so I stop this idea...

Great skinpack but I think vehicles should have more wear'n'tear and more dimmed colors. Markings and crosses are too sterile. Please dont get me wrong - its a great skinpack.![]()
hi all... as I planned, I started to work on turning some or all vanilla models to Waffen SS... as a preview, here is a pioneer.
This model is now deriver from Half-Track pioneer...
trousers, helmet, belt buckle, collar tabs have been remade.
Last edited by luciferum; 16th Apr 08 at 1:20 PM.
Looks great
but why you changed Wehrmacht to SS?
#342
He stated before that the Wehrmacht faction was, in his opinion, the Waffen SS.
Which in my opinion makes no sense, but as long as there's nice skins
That's also Halftrack's Pioneer torso.
@Franky:
Well... everyone is free to like it or not but I think it's nice to introduce Waffen SS uniforms in COH... at least for visual looking.
As I said several times before, the "wehrmacht" faction and units composing it can suit what were Waffen SS. As "my" Panzer Elite are representing a mechanised wehrmacht/Luftwaffe kampfgruppe, I thought it's good to introduce Waffen SS in "Wehrmacht" faction.
From the historical point of view, it's impossible to forget Waffen SS fightings... Have a look on battle for the hill 112 in Normandy (part of the battle for Caen). Without SS, battle for Normandy would have last 2 or 3 weeks I guess...
The last point... I want to do something different that other's have already done...
Why should I reskin Wehrmacht when I see beautiful work from Halftrack.
Monkey:
Well, the stripes are the remains of removing glasses using alfa channel. I'm not sure if it's possible to make them totally disappear. May be I'll put glasses back... what do you think?
Maybe 2 versions. One has no glasses, and one has glasses on his helmet (not around his neck) But in general you won't notice it, so if you want to make one version, just keep the glasses removed.
Good work luciferm, dont forget to remove the goggle remenants from the new pio. Also Id love to see a PE grenadier reskin to make em look SS or at least not wearing winter camo... Can you release your skins as zip/rar files that I can use the skin installer to add only the skins I want? IE. I already have wirbelwind skin I like but want the tommy.
Luciferum it was only a question ^^
i like your skins really![]()
and i have a nother one ^^
would you change the stormtroopers to the Waffen SS?
or the Knight Cross Holders ^^
your skins looks skvělý (i dont find the english word srry) ^^
btw. srry for my bad english![]()
#349
Well Luciferum, your Waffen-SS Pioneers look very good! I especially like how you used Dot44 for the trousers, oakleaf for the bedroll and zeltbahn and another (planetree?) for the helmet cover. If they were all the same camo it would be terrible, so you did really good there.
It's a pitty about the black lines, but sadly thats what happens when you remove stuff from the skins. I've found though that if you remove as much extra black from around each piece of the texture as you can you can minimise the extent of the black lines.
For those who could be interested, a stand alone release of the SS pioneer in a beta version is published on my web site.
It can be downloaded HERE
