Thanks, I'll be sure to check that out.
Thanks, I'll be sure to check that out.
Btw luciferum are you going to do some markings for the Pz IV? I would definately use it if you put a few symbols here and there.
Agreed, you can only see the German cross on that tank when it has armour over its wheels. I don't mind bending the history rules a bit if it means that you can actually see the symbols easily. One on the front and one on the turret should do fine.
Actually, I'm checking some documentations to put markings on this Pz IV.
The cross on the side-skirts will be probably removed and put on upper skirts. I will put numbers too I guess.
For the Pz without skirt, on cross on the hull and one on the back of the turret.
Front makings were really limited because when facing the ennemy you needed better to be concealed
This topic is open of course... and I could change.
Ok, sod the one on the front then, just stick a couple on side/back/turret and it'll be fine.
this skinpack works with everything on low right? no glitches?![]()
Gamers don't die, they go to the next level
Here is a preview shot of the new skin for the Sdkfz 251 replacing both PE and Wehrmacht one.
A 3 colour pattern has been applied with a common pattern during spring-summer-fall 1944. The tarpaulin (?) gets a splinter A pattern.
@bottenbreker:
Not sure.. never tryed in low res but ... I guess it's ok because I had a glance of my mod on a low res game from a friend and every thing seemed to work fine.
Nice improvement on the current 251wondered where you had gone with your skins

Don't worry.. I'm still here... but busy so I do lack of time... I do my best![]()
Awesome halftrack!

Finally!The tarpaulin (?) gets a splinter A pattern.
I was waiting for someone finally doing this - Halftrack's idea with the foliage as cover was nice, but the use of an actual camo pattern is much better.
Man, the paint job looks ace, but the cover really doesn't match it.
I think its because the cover is too shiny.. possibly just the angle of the picture
No, it's the WB.I think its because the cover is too shiny.. possibly just the angle of the picture
Thanks for help Jarhead: As some may know, this shot has neen taken with "worldbuilder" which tend to display very bright colours.
This one played in game should be better.
I will release it as stand alone tonight. Will someone agree to make some screenshots in game... I really do lack of time those days...
It would be like becoming beta tester for my mod
Actually, the first versions were much more brighter and I had to reduce this with the .gls file.
I agree with Keelan, the cover for the vehicles was single "color" (grey or brown in "mate"). That Splinter was used for the zeltbahns and another clothes but only few rare times in vehicles. The paint rocks! Nice job!
I'm not really talking about the reflections being a problem, Its the actual camo patterns you have got 2 totally different patterns just clashing there and they really don't match. A single cover colour would be better.
The displayed version is downloadable on my web site. Screenshots are welcome !
Thank you Monkey to propose me...
Well, about the camo cover, let see the result in game !
I have to find out pics of real cover, even BW photos to see what could have been used. But right, splinter pattern was used for tent... but may be on other surfaces, may be at least for experimentation ....
That is a really sweet haltrack! Good job mate
R.I.P MrScruff-A very talented and valued friend who is sorely missed
Hey ! Thanks a lot for the screenshots. I'm quite surprised with the good result of my skin in game.
The colour difference is less "shocking" here... actually I don't think it is at all.
From this camera point of view, the cover camo pattern is quite not visible.
For it's size, my idea was to match the size of patterns we could see on uniforms, but may be it's still too small...
Honnestly, I didn't find any evidence of camo cover on ht but it's not impossible that some were used locally using the same cloth as for zeltbahn.
I was thinking about applying this kind of pattern on Panther...
The pattern of the HT?
Well, we already have some vehicles featuring such camo in some variants - personnaly, I would love to see something new. Maybe a Panther in plain base color, Dunkelgelb.
Or maybe the second(the right) variant from this drawing(maybe without the brown stripes):

Hm, I remember that I already posted that drawing some time ago...wasn't you thinking about apllying the first sheme on the Ostwind? Or to busy for it?
THIS ONE is also interesting.
Well, or the one from FH2.
Why? That would look very boring. And it doesn't makes sense either, because every tankcommander wants it tank to be camouflaged as good as possible. But yellow sticks out in most places.Maybe a Panther in plain base color, Dunkelgelb.
Gastredner:
the pics you have taken are in -dev mode, right ?
because I've tried my skin for online game (changed ww2Art.sga) , and the old skin for the "wehrmacht" HT appears. That's quite weird because I've checked the attribarchive, and .rgm files, and all sdkfz 251 seems to point to the PE HT skin.... another mistery for the relic coding !!!!
hey, what will the volks and grenadiers look like? with your mod I mean.
AKA Sad_eyed_Irony!!
No, they are taken during normal gameplay without the -dev parameter. I always use Corsix or the Skin installer to simply put the new files directly into the archives - I am not really an online RTS gamer.Originally Posted by luciferum
But: I changed the names of your HT skin files and replaced with these renamed files the original ones in the axis/vehicles/halftrack/halftrack/model file. I only wanted to use the new skin for the WH HT.
Sad_eyed_Irony:
PG will suit a peadot pattern uniform...
For the VG, I will probably use parts of the TB model, with an oakleaf pattern for the over-jacket.

I'm also introducing you the new skin for the nebelwerfer...

Did they really aplly camo on there Nebelwerfers?
Hm, I can not remember having seen a single picture of a camoed Nebelwerfer. But, anyway: Nice work, luciferum.
some model makers applied camo on them... guess they have sources about this point:

Hm, I would suggest that you stop using so much brown on your skins.
Dunkelgelb is a really nice color, and the combination with the green color is wonderful - but all this brown in between, it just blends over all the other colors.
I think the first of the two pictures you posted shows quite good how it should be: A bit lighter brown with a little push towards red, but mostly green and yellow.
Yes, I guess you're right. Especially if I want to represent summer 44 patterns. This nebelw. looks more wearing very late war patterns....

Here is an update of the Nebelwerfer... less brownish.

Really love it, But I will download this skin mod when you are done with all units and stuff, because skin installer takes ages, and I just want to do that once.![]()
Looks much better.. really like it, cant wait to get my hands on it as per usual![]()
Ok Jarhead... the nebelw. is now downloadable !!!!![]()
Thanks
BTW you spelt vehicles incorrectly in the zip extraction path, just in case people dont spot that.
Also I posted some comments on your forum![]()
Has anybody else these problems?
The main tank just looks a little to green, while the shields on the sides still have the colour they are supposed to have. This only happens on special maps like Langres, for example. On a custom map I built myself I have the same problem, but because I´m abled to place vehicles on it I did the following: the left vehicle is always a neutral one while the right one belongs to me, and there's, how you can see, a colour difference. What causes this? All problems can be seen on ultra textures as well as on high textures. Is this all caused by me and my hardware or is it because of a general problem with the skin?
Greetings
the Slayerknecht
Im guessing here .. maybe there is a team colour being applied to it, chaning the colour.
No, actually there is something in CoH that changes the colour shades of vehicles for different team members. Eg if you're WH and have a WH ally , then look at the schemes you'll see they are different in tone/shade. Its a way to make units that are of the same faction but from different players a bit more recognisable in addition to team colouring.
This is absolutely normal. Your in game faction will have teh standard shade while your allied factions will have different shades.
Like that Panther by the way pmsl
Nice nebel, definately prefer the revised version, top stuff

True. No, actually there is something in CoH that changes the colour shades of vehicles for different team members.
I'm trying to stop that; I'll provide information if I find anything.
It's NOT mod-related.
A new update of the HSM will be online very soon.
This will include :
- new Nebelwerfer (previously realeased as standalone);
- new skin for bren carrier;
- new skin for tetrach.
Below the preview of the bren. Changes are colour turned to bronze green as were painted uk vehicles, 7th ard div. markings (dersert rats) that fought in Normandy and Holland.

![]()
Below: colour adjustment for the tetrach with 6th airborne division markings.
![]()
Mmmmmm liking those.. much better than the originals. Fancy doing the Cromwell and Churchill next![]()
I will make HQ truck, Stuart, Cromwell, churchill and Sherman... Any preference I start with ?
But first I will update the tommy with 7th Ard div. shoulder patch.
I also need some documentation about tactical markings for the different regiments that compose the 7th Ard Div... I mean each rgt had a specific tactical number. I used 77 for the bren carrier (this number was from a photo) but I don't know the numbers of other (especially armoured rgt).
For the Churchill, I will use tac number 991 which was from the 7 RTR of the 31st Tank Brigade... 7th ard div had no Churchill as far as I know.
Awesome work here luciferum, truely awesome!
Sorry to bring this up 10 pages later, but I was just reading through this thread and spotted this.
http://forums.relicnews.com/attachme...id=20337&stc=1The ammo pouches were green.
I'm pretty sure most British webbing at the time was actually tan canvas. Here's some photos of the pouches above, it's the bren pouch.
![]()
Don't quote me on this but I think all British webbing was mostly this colour right up until the 58 pattern webbing was introduced. However I think I do remember seeing some photos of green webbing being used in Burma, but not Europe.
Good luck with the mod.
