    Sick, Sick 6 Returns!

    4 Player 2v2 Nyctophobia


    Just in time for Christmas! It's yet another gorefest with piles of dead bodies and lots of firrrrrre!
    After about 6 months of inactivity I decided to pick up on mapping again. S'pose I took a while to finish this one because it took soooooo many titan pieces.
    I guess I would call this a Beta (maybe even Alpha because of the lack of scar). All the strategic points, crit loc's, slags and relics are in place. Still need to do some cosmetic work around the starting locations and maybe tweak the hieghtmap some more.
    Now as for the .scar coding I, you may notice all the little dots in the overhead to the right and left of the bridge. Basically as the half-assed fluff I have so far goes, the bridge is a barrier-protected wormhole through a particularly nasty part of the warp. And the stairways on either side are simply a doorway into the warp. The doorways have malfunctioned and are left wide open. And the wormhole has glitches (the lightning arc spots, similar to the idea I used on my island in the Community Map) that, if crossed teleport you into the pit with all the little nasties. I plan on .scar coding the map so that if you capture the crit loc in the middle of the bridge you have faction with the daemons in the pit and the don't attack you. Otherwise good luck getting the Relics down there. No seriously, it won't happen, there are 3 Daemon Princes on each side.
    Should provide for some interesting gameplay.

    Yeees, hint, hint, jab, jab. I'm working on that right now. Due to the massive amount of hieght-editing of the objects I had to start a completely new version for the Nightshift.
    Here's what I have done on that so far:





    If anyone knows of a way to convert this map to the Nightshift mod, I'm all ears...

    Adjust the sky/fog then you have to put 3 objectives per player in wherever place you want...
    But those are from the nightshift mod, and if Palii didnt give it you, theres nothing you can do..

    the age of squat site is done, the info you need were uploaded over here.

    To make a night shift map

    you need :

    the "Night Shift" mod(you already have it)

    the "NightShift object pack (you already have it)

    terrain setting in the ME :
    light : black
    shadow : black
    fog : black (distance: as needed)

    Four special object called "night dummies" (coming along the nightshift mod or the ngith object pack, i don't remember)

    You have to scatter four "night dummies" object owned by player x for each player on the map. (ie for a 4 player map, this made 4 dummies owner player1, 4 dummies owner player2, 4 dummies owner player3, 4 dummies owner player4. Indeed 16 "night dummies objects".)

    of course the map must be located in the mod map folder (nightshif/data/dxp2/scenario/mp) for you to work on it and play on it with nightshift.


    It is all i can remember from the indication given by Pallii on his former website.

    But i'm sure some of us knwos the good recipe to make a working nightshift map.

    Yeah wasn't someone working on converting maps when that thread got started? I'll have to try that dummy method. Didn't know you had to set the light to black too though. Interesting.

    you can set the light/fog on whatever color, just make it viable for a nightshift map... (eg: pink fog doesnt stand on nightfight...)

    Anyway i dont remember if Palii with the new nightshift for DC was going to release a new object pack to convert maps...

    of course you can but to make NghtShift map ( for the NightShift mod !!) you should follow Palii recomendations

    laawl... i mean, usually i tend to stay away from black fog-black sky, in favor of a more colored & realistic atmosphere...

    anyway, you can achieve a beautifull night map by adjusting colors and fog. Think about how the night is ambiance is "re-created" into movies. A good example of what I think is a good night Ambiance is the map "Cris Nocturnes" from the AdeptA Sororitas Beta relase. a blue night themed map, beautifull.

    @JLord: for a strange situation AS team considered that map a bit spoiled, and they asked me to add details....
    lawl... any suggestion? I was thinking about giving it a more destroyed look, with craters, scars & so on...
