    Erm, pre-order for Soulstorm? (unofficial)

Now this is only eBay, so sorry to disappoint those that thought this would be a fully official site, but a seller has 100 available here:

    http://offer.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI...248830&guest=1

His 100% positive reputation suggests he's legit, but what I'm interested in is his idea of the release date. According to the seller, the game will be with you for 07-03-08, which is "subject to change"

Would anyone be willing to buy one of those, and simply wait for it? What do you think of the proposed release date, accurate right?

That "preorder" isn't worth the paper it's written on.
I may make you feel, but I can't make you think.

Note to all Americans - that link is from the UK ebay. The date 07/03/08 means "7th of March", not the "3rd of July"

But yeah...legit or not, preorders for the game are nothing new. You've been able to preorder it for a while now. Doesn't mean they know when it'll be officially released yet.

7th of March is a pretty good date if you think alittle logically. A demo is generally released 2 months or 3 before retail hits the shelves. Even if the demo which was released and now removed wasn't the official demo, the content was pretty polished and playable barring anything about the flying units.

Its also likely that it is a UK and European release date and US will get it early again, even if its a cascade release the 7th fits in well enough if US gets it last week of Feb. But mebbe us UKers and Europeans will get it earlier :P. Also Soulstorm has probably been in developement since DC was released or just before it, so thats about a year and abit ago, which seems to have been the turn around time for the expansions in the past.

But naturally the date is subject to change as usual.

I humblely suggest using GAME for preorders, mainly because you earn reward points to use on other purchases (with a reward card) as well as recieving the games a day early (providing the postal service is working well and you leave it to default on second class, which is dispatched 2 days in advance as opposed to first class's 1 day).

This is the Soulstorm Preorder. Not a bad price in my opinion.

At any rate, If you order with GAME I have had excellent support with their customer service too, so I suggest using them, as well as for the creditable retailer mark.

    *hugs play* Soulstorm pre-order

No reward points like game, but nevermind. Tend to get the game on the morning of release, like Hirmetrium said it will depend on the postal service at the time

Thats what I like about GAME, because second class delievery on a good day means you get it early, and if the post is bad you will still get it on the friday

    $30 is a solid price, and they're listing $27.

    I'm not pre-ordering though; I don't foresee a problem in getting a copy.

I remember the day that OF and DC AND COH were released. That statement is not to be taken lightly if your american.

So far the USA sites are listing March 4th for release. They all list it as Soul Storm, not Soulstorm, weird.

That place with the things and stuff.
Relic/IL are useless atm. If they want to sell this product, why has there been little/no info on the demo or about the game. We have to go to other sources constantly its boring. March the 7th is its apparent release date, thats not a great deal of time away. They should show a bit more respect to there investors instead of the occasional screenshot. Its bullshit.

Uhmm.. Maverick, it is not their responsibility, that is THQ's, besides all the info as you said has come from other sites, gaming sites, as is the point ! We got a demo which is pretty good, sure there was some confusion, but hey, shit happens !
In any case, don't you think it is best to release the most information shortly before the game is coming ? So that people won't sit and be bored while waiting a long time ?

Sorry this makes no sense, you've contradicted yourself there. People are bored/fed up because there is no information until the game is released.

Tell that to Ubisoft... they control their media on games, one just needs to look at the Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway game. The developers Gearbox Software want to let everyone know more but Ubisoft has a control on what they can release\say and what they cannot. Also it is the publishers who have the marketing department who devise the advertising campaigns and release of information for public consumption not the developers, and when your relying on a publisher to fund your project your not going to go annoying him to the point where he drops your project and you have to find funding somewhere else. Also Relic is a THQ owned development studio which means THQ can basically control various elements of what Relic actually does.

People are bored and feed up even when you do give them content to read and view becuase no matter what they still want the game. Again someone can take a look at the example of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway for one, there people have been treated to new interviews, pictures and the sort for a while on at least a monthly basis for some time yet they are still bored and feed up because they want the game.

Trust us, Maverick, THQ controls quite a bit of the process, including the marketing, support, pricing, distribution, packaging, and QA for patches at the very least.
