    CoH Beta for non-english clients + working sound

    Hi, Volks.

    I just wrote a little guide to get the CoH Beta working with non-english versions of the game.
    I hope it's ok i post it down here.
    I will describe this for the german version, but i think you should use this on every localization by just take over the file names of your localization.
    e.g. EngineGerman.sga -> EngineFrench.sga or whatever.



    1.
    Make sure you have no mods installed that corrupts the core files like the RelicCOH.module (custom keys) or any model packs that changes art archives or whatever.

    2.
    Install the Beta Client available here
    If you have any problems installing the beta, look at the error message and try to figure out which file might be the problem.
    If you can't figure out, you better make a fresh reinstall of CoH and ry it again.

    3.
    If you have installed the beta without any errors copy "...CoH"\Engine\Archives\EngineGerman.sga
    to "...CoH Beta"\Engine\Archives\
    and rename it to EngineEnglish.sga.

    4.
    If it doesn't already exist, create the folder "...CoH Beta"\Engine\Locale\english\
    and copy the "...CoH"\Engine\Locale\german\RelicCOH.German.ucs in it
    and rename it to RelicCOH.English.ucs.

    5.
    Open the Locale.ini with an editor and change the "lang = german" to "lang = english".
    save and close it.

    6.
    Now the game is able to start up but the sound packets are missing.
    Go to your [...COH]\WW2\Archives\ folder
    Copy all files in there.
    Now switch to the [...CoH Beta]\WW2\Archives\ folder.
    Paste the copied packtes in here.
    WARNING!: Do not overwrite the existing files. If your OS prompts you press "No".
    Now the missing packtes are at the right place but with wrong name.
    Exchange in all copied files the "German" with "English".
    e.g. OFCoreSpeechGerman.sga -> OFCoreSpeechEnglish.sga
    Now your Sound should work perfectly.

    7.
    Start the game and and download the patch 2.301 (Do not try to patch, it won't work).
    Remove the RelicCOH.English.ucs from the beta folder so that the Locale\English\ folder is empty.
    Execute the patch located at
    My Documents\My Games\Company of Heroes - Opposing Fronts MP Beta\patch\
    After patching you can either copy the [...CoH]\Engine\Locale\German\RelicCOH.German.ucs
    to [...CoH Beta]\Engine\Locale\ and rename it to RelicCOH.English.ucs.
    (Note: This way you will have your buttons displayed in german, but many buttons will show you "$XXXXXXX No Key").
    Or you just download the RelicCOH.English.ucs available here or here (Rapidshare) and copy it to [...CoH Beta]\Engine\Locale\ .
    (Note: This way you will have all buttons displayed in english but no buttons with "$ No Key". I strongly advise you to use this method)

    8.
    If you have downloaded and used my RelicCOH.English.ucs you can simply update the beta to latest version.

    9.
    Have fun testing Team Automatch.

    When the server is down do not wonder about the "No Media - Can't read Disc" error massage. The Beta client has no DVD check function and will only be playable while the server is online.

    I have just tried this but not works with Italian OF version,it install without any errors during the installation, copy and rename the files, launch, loading screen appears, but it jump back very soon to windows without any errors....


    I havent any mods installed....

    Yep I not overwrite,say not at all, and rename a one files where there is italian, the problem still also with or without copy sounds files...

    Whats the point of beta testing a hacked version, answer = none.

    And it may bring up some erroneous bugs due to teh hack.

    Patch

    There was a new Patch from the Beta-server for download. This patch will not install correctly anymore. It will fail if you managed to get your non-english version to run, as stated above.



    Sooo you cant play anymore with a non-english version for now



    There is a proposed workaround from gamereplays:

    You need to cut the files you renamed
    (Engine/Archives/EngineEnglish.sga) + (Engine/Locale/RelicCOH.English.ucs)

    copy them anywhere (But save them!)
    instal the patch

    recopy the two files and start the game.

    For me thisone works

    I tried it and it worked

    The other way I chose was reinstalling the whole game

    I think your way could cause problems!!!!

    Use this way:

    Uninstall the Beta.

    Create ?:\CoH\Engine\Locale\Eglish and put the file from my rar in.

    install beta

    copy your Engine*****.sga into your Beta ?:\CoH\Engine\Archives and rename to EngineEnglish.sga

    Copy all your ?:\CoH\WW2\Archives files with a language ending like OFCoreSpeechGerman.sga into the same Beta folder and rename the "German" part of all files into English. :OFCoreSpeechEnglish.sga

    change language in locale.ini to English


    now you have a running Beta which is patchable!!

    god.. another patch.
    seems relic is workinh quite hard in this.
    Hmm, they better do after ond and a half year without Team Automtach!

    One thing i like to note:
    You better download and use the english.ucs i posted up there.
    Since Relic is intergrating a new function to the RelicOnline interface, thing will be changed in there surly more than once. If you use this file and a patch will update it no error will occur.

    God, When poeple dont have a clue, why they don't just keep their mouths closed?
    I didn't hacked the game in any possible way.
    I didn't corrupt files in any way.
    The core files of the game, like engine, textures etc are the same to all players over the whole world. otherwise we couldnt play with/againsr eachother.
    I just fake an english version (locale.ini change), means i act like i have the english version of the game by just renaming the locale files for sound and interface translation.
    The only problem that occurs is if one of those files get patched.
    And thats why i use the original english interface file (RelicCOH.English.ucs), althought i wouldnt have to, it just makes pacthing easier.
    You see, in all other cases, i just copied files i already had on my HDD and the beta installer just didn't copied cause they had a "German" instad of an "English" in their names.

    Still not works here and I havent wish to reinstall my game for tryng a beta with the risky that it anywhere after will not works....

    I think some version are english compatible, some not,(bad luck) I dont think is only a .ucs and a renaming the sga file question for this version.....other thing are for sure changed....

    I will must waiting for every version release.....

    I have a non english version.With the advise of half-god ace4sure, i can play the beta and patched beta.
    For the patch, i cut and paste somewhere else the EngineEnglish.sga and RelicCOH.English.ucs.I patch the game. Then, recopy the files to the original folder. Work fine.

    thats what i told you.
    your core game packets in WW2/Archives/ (think the art.sga's) were corrupted.
    Im quite sure you overwrited it/them when you copied the files from the the original to the beta directory.
    You said, when Windows prompted you, you clicked on "No to all".
    As far as i know, there is no "No to all" button. Only "Yes to all".

    I dont know seems to me that I have click no sometimes....anywhere it works and I take a screenshots....I think never happen anymore to meet this two guys!!!!
