How well does this describe forum life .. relic in particular for the vote but discus others in body of your post

IMO the maturity of this forum is largely section dependant, with the community forums being a good few ponds away from the cesspool depicted in the comic, while the COH and DOW boards are closer to the zerg-pit-of-doom.
I think this is because most of the 'forum stereotype' DOW and COH section goers don't hit the community sections much.
Just about. I exclusivly hang out in the community forums, unless I pop into the homeworld speculation threads every month or so.
I would say that comic is correct to most forums that have anything to do with gaming, and I am not sure why this forum has not slid into spammed anarchy. Probably good admins and a self perpetuating group attraction. Higher quality membership attracts more high quality members. PROOF! Proof that positive feedback loops can occur on the internet. Here we have overcome the collective entropy of the internet at large, creating a point of light in a sea of darkness!

That's pretty much a perfect description of how I remember DoW.
Of course, I haven't managed to pull myself together and go back there for several years, so it may have changed. But I doubt it.

I see the Fallout reference in the comic so I win the thread. Also it accurately describes the seedier parts of the forums, but not the rest.

Substantive and interesting responses to this thread seem to me to offer a lot more than just "lol internets omg forum users are idiots".
