Which in The .SHP file or on the model files in the LOD folder?
In the ships model. the name of the engine points should be ENG0 and ENG1.
For the standard/missile corvettes and all other ships the engine trail definitions are generally at the bottom of their respective .SHP files.
Where it says ";Engine trails" and then theres the definition.
Well I checked the model files in the LOD folder and both ENG0 and ENG1 points are there for both of those corvettes.
When I swapped the heavy corvette for the missile corvette I notice it had only one engine trail even though I took the shp file directly from the p1 folder (Turanic side) without any alterations. But in the sp missions with the npc pirates, their corvettes have 2 engine trails for some reason.

Yeah, the stock Turanics don't have enough engines. I think I fixed those in RA - you could look at that for inspiration.
An engine consists of two components: points in the .mex file and corresponding entries in the .shp file. You need both for them to work.
So would using the HW to HW:C model convertor, apply the TC Cata textures and edit the .shp files accordingly work?

OK, before I answer that, let me make sure of what you're wanting to do. Am I guessing correctly that you want to give the Raider corvettes (and Beast version thereof) four engine trails to match their four engines?
The Turanic raiders mod at the bottom has the corvette with four engine trails. Or you could just add you're own with the ship editor.

OK, the easiest thing to do in that case is just to open the relevant models and their corresponding .mex files IN HWSE, move the existing engine point(s) to where you'd like them, and then add engines until you have a total of four in the proper places. Then open the .shp's and copy the engine code to match.
On jeez, this'll take a while..
Now to set about getting HWSE working and to the state I can actually figure out how to rotate/pan the damn view.
