    Mouse pointer frozen

While playing Soulstorm's campaign (it also happened previously on DC campaign) my mouse cursor's image frozen in the middle of the screen and the real cursor is still active but becomes invisible.

Reloading the game or restarting the mission doesn't fix the problem. It makes it extra harder because I have to guess where I'm clicking with my invisible cursor.

Anyone knows how to fix this annoying problem? This happens at random time during campaign play.

This problem is kinda like my previous one I was having. Try re-installing/updating your graphics card driver. If you don't know how to do this, go to Google and search for your PC name, then specifications. Find your graphics card name, and search the official site of the producer and see if there is an update. Or simply, check Windows Updates to see if there is an update.

I did install the latest driver for my video card but still no luck. The game even feels like crashing more often than before.

It is really weird, because I never had this problem back in the original DoW and WA. The first time I installed DC everything was smooth, eventually the game was uninstalled and only be installed again after a view months. And then, the dissapearing mouse problem start happening from then on.

    It's weird!

I am having this problem as well. I have hundreds of hours playing DOW1 with all expansions....the ONLY recent change was the installation of Steam

HOWEVER, I only DL'ed the DOW2 Demo and then uninstalled it as well as Steam.

I have fully removed and reinstalled all DOW1 games with no luck.

Steam is still banned from my PC as I have a sneaky suspicion Valve altered something that's causing this.....

I will attempt Video card driver update as well, but i'm not holding my breath...

    I MISS MY DOW, DANGIT

UPDATE: I updated my wireless mouse drivers with no luck. MY cursor is still frozen at lower left of screen, regardless of DOW expansion pack (SS, DC, WA, or base game).

FINAL UPDATE: For DOW users who are NOT using DOW via STEAM: The SAME FIX used to fix the Steam version is needed if you experience this frozen/hidden mouse issue on the non-Steam version. For whatever reason, STEAM will modify the SPDX9 file as listed in the Master Fix file as listed by Kapp'n.

One last note: Running Windows 7 Ultimate, I was initially denied permission to update the SPDX9_Config.txt file - simply save the original as .old. Then update and resave to your desktop as SPDX9_CONFIG.txt - then copy and paste into your non-steam DOW directory(ies)....complicated, but.....

I've tried to fix the config on the notebook but I can't since it's "read-only".

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Makes your changes to the config file and 'save as' somewhere else. Then swap the new file with the original version making sure to keep the original as backup.
