US INFANTRY - Off Map Reinforcement

Heya guys, I used to play in 1v1 auto alot, but never had the chance to use the 800MP call in for American infantry tree.

We all know that its 800MP to call in, and also cost 12 Pop cap and instantly comes from off map, but every time you use it, its DIFFERENT reinforcements...

I.E. Sometimes I had 2 Wolverine tanks and 2 rifles, sometimes 2 mg squads with m8, sometimes mortars etc....

Is it by RANDOM? Or does it come in how much pop cap you currently have, or how much AT is needed etc? Does it sense it automatically or random?
    Lvl 12 1v1 auto... need a mentor to 13+!!! :D

It's alot better than what it used to be, at least now you're guarantee to have a somewhat rounded up. Back in the old days, you can hit the jackpot and get 5 Mortar teams which didn't really help considering your enemy has a Tiger on the field.

it's been my luck the 1st use is normally infantry related (ie mortars, mgs riflemen etc) then the 2nd use tacks on the heavier armor
I'm back because i used to be here but then got turned into a guest?

Once I got M10, M8, ranger squad, and mortar.
Another time I got 2 M10s and 2 AT guns.
As it says the battalion sends you what it can spare aka random comp pick.

I don't think it's random. I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that what you get depends on your current troops on the field already. For example if you have more tanks you get more infantry such as rifles, mortars, mgs, maybe even armored cars. But if you have a lot of infantry on the field you are going to get armored cars, and sometimes M10s. I don't know if im 100% right, but I just remember that from somewhere, and this is the only forums I go onto so ya... I don't know about you guys but I actually notice it.

The game files prove it's all random, not dependant on what kind of forces you have.

  12. #12
it's random, but you are guaranteed to get some AT and a rifle squad.

If you all want specifics, you will first get either an AT Gun or M10 Tank Destroyer, then you will either get one of many support weapons, rangers, or and M8 followed by the guaranteed riflesquad and 1 more support weapon, riflesquad, or M8.

Which begs the question... is a mixed bag of tricks worth the 800MP?

    I vote no.

Well it can be like lets say a m10, ranger squad and a mg for example thats 940 manpower and 55 fuel for just 800 manpower so its a good deal. Obviously you might not need everything it gives you, but theres a chance itll be really cost effective and helpful. However, it's never really turned a game around for me but certainly helped hold a vp with the at gun, mortar and ranger squad. Now is saving up 800 manpower just for that worth it? Easily debatable

It has just never been a very good ability. It's useful if you've skipped alot of Tiers and want some support weapons. Even then, you're not guaranteed to get the stuff you really want.

Yeah, so it's value lies in it' cost-effectiveness, though the stuff you get might end up just gathering dust...It's a weird ability: I wonder if it wouldn't be better suited for the middle of the tree rather than the end.

  18. #18
actually it is useful when your are on a lightening push and need reinforcement immediatly or your getting attacked by a large army of enemies and you need immediate support( thats is when you are able to hold for a little that is ). thats how this ability is used.

Hmm, what, for 800 MP? and than build extra stuff at the same time? :P I wonder where do you spend your MP in 1v1s...

not sure if its all that bad but i think it is somewhat useful in 2v2, insta units with 0 build time for 800mp. u can even get AT guns without motorpool. m10s without td.

1v1 has very little use for it, 2v2 on the other hand, could be handy when u need that extra units to assault a position/after losing troops in a huge battle.

In the back of my mind.
I rarely use the Infantry company, and it's even rarer that i use this ability. Usually the only time i've ever used it is either when i'm playing a 3vs3 and winning and i just call it in to bolster my forces just a tad, or when i'm busy getting majorly hammered just for me to look down and see i'm floating a fair bit of mp (usually without fuel), so i get it hoping to get some support weapons and armour without having wait the build times and without having to spend the fuel.

the 800 mp reinforcement is always cost effective as you usually pay a lot less for the same units. but the randomness is the problem

need ai: you gain a freaking m10
you need at: wow 4 30 cals'!

  23. #23
Its a useless ability because theres a good chance it will give you units that you dont need, and you cant spend that 800MP on ones you do need.

It should be split up into 2 abilites, like anti-tank call in or ai call in where it gives you appropriate units.

I've found OMCG to be pretty cost effective. No matter the situation I can ALWAYS use extra units, even an HMG late game. You're paying 800mp for anywhere between 1k-1.2k in manpower for the units you get.

Its good when you need any sort of reinforcement, But not when you need AT or AI.

OMCG is the best ability in the game. I've gotten 2 m10s from one call in once. Saved me from a KT. It was a pretty fun replay too.
    Greyhounds are my favorite, still!

It's usually a desperate gamble when the enemy has too much armor for you to handle. The value of what comes out is always well over 800mp but often it's junk. If I throw the dice I want M10s, AT guns and MGs. I find the mortars, rifleman and greyhounds to be the least useful units it produces and since there is usually enough of these to make the bundle bad value I opt to build instead.

useless, 100mp gain is too little,
it could use a buff like JP and KT, "get it now and pay later"

I've had some lucky rolls with it before. I got 2 M10's, a rifle squad, and an MG or Mortar(can't remember). Pretty handy/cost friendly.

Well in my opinion it comes to late and is to random to be useful. In the end it is a nice christmas present to end a game youll win anyway for anybody whos wondering what they will get.

It's too random to be useful in my opinion.

I like having having a set of balanced forces that can complement each other. Random units do not fall into that philosophy.
