Great skins Widowmaker, but I have one really obvious question... Why does the Captain have Staff Sergeant rank on his sleeve. He is a Captain he should have 3 pips on each shoulder. I know the model may not allow for this to happen, with his grandpa style vest, so couldn't they be left off completely.

I note also that every other Captain model I have seen also gives him SSGT rank, but why?.....Arrrrgh....ok breath...in... out... in... out

Just a small thing, but important to some of us none the less.

Cheers, keep up the good work on standard models and I look forward to future releases.

    Fair enough obvious answer...lol

    BTW---I am using him anyway

The obvious answer is...because I couldn't give him shoulder stripes and none of the other models I've made have stripes well it makes him look important that way LOL.
I did try to find collar tags and hence the change of the scarf to collar but couldn't find anything.
I know many won't agree and I 'might' change it by the time I release the Lieutenant.

On a skirmsh level where you barely have 30-40 men on the field at any time those ranks don't look too bad pmsl

What's with the Tiger 'P'? Do you like it so much?

  4. #1154
I love it! When I was doing scale modeling etc I never had evidence of one in action. Always thought they never saw any and simply converted to Ferdinands and...Finding this sort of amazed me too much...

I had never heard of that tank, I googled tiger P and got many hits and achtung panzer had some facts.

Btw: On the first picture the second tank, is that a panther with a panzer IV turret,
if it is, were they common?

  6. #1156
This was the Porsche rival to the Henschel design that was finally accepted. 5 of these complete 'tiger 1' where made but only 1 is known to have seen action. The rest were converted to Ferdinands/Elephants. note that this is a command tank as well with the extra plates at the front!200mm say you?...
The Panther with the P4 turret was a field conversion. Like mny other wierd ones done by the germans...not on a regular basis..but were done non the less..

    @pojarsma: lol.

@Widowmaker1: Yeah, But Hitler decided to combine the 2 prototypes to make the final Tiger I. It uses the Henschel chassis and the Porche Turret. I am currently building a Ferdinand from Dragon models (the Limited Edition kit). Are you still doing scale modelling?

  9. #1159
@pojarsma: lol, I saw that coming a mile off!

I sort of stopped about 4 yrs ago Celestial. Life changes and all that but...the bug never really went away if you know what I mean....Dragon where my favourite ones in 1/35 followed by Tamiya...anyways...
One of the many reasons i can tell a mile off if a model is accurate or not in coh lmfao

Yeah, I know what you mean. I hope you will start making models again, because it's really fun to do. Could you PM me some pictures of yours I can send you some aswell.

  11. #1161
I've no pictures whatsoever mate...at that point I never bothered. Plus my last years in scale modeling were actually for WH40k/WH

Second variation for riflemen. It replaces the basic rifle squad only (not mortar teams etc),
    Have fun

love your skins widow! But, isn't he Big Red 1 patch quite large? If a guy was a 1st sgt. his rank would wrap around his elbow. hehe

  14. #1164
Nah, I prefer them 'slightly oversized' as they look better during gameplay

I get a bit of a bug with them when I zoom out... I installed the old ones forgot to make a screenshot. Basically the model in its lower quality level has a glitch with a big spike coming out of the left arm... looks weird.
    *poke*

  20. #1170
When you say 'lower quality level', what do you mean? What did you change game settings or lowered skin res or what?

the slider "model quality" is at 2-3 bars for me...

  24. #1174
I've toyed around with the "model quality" and didn't experience any issue. I wouldn't really know why you have that problem to be honest. The skin files are no different to everything else I've released.

    Hi Widowmaker1
    i have a little request
can you make a tiger skin to look like the one on the picture but with little more rust on it

    http://tamiyausa.com/articles/ln/190...e_patton_m.jpg

  29. #1179
I have as much plans as Joker when it comes to which skins I make. This means when I feel like creating a random skins, I simply do it!
This also means...I don't do 'requests' for specific skins, sorry.

I dont know if this is me but... the tank busters look kinda bad from a gamepley point of view... i dont know if its the files i have cuz my Pg look fine but my tankbusters look weird... lovely up close but...
Absence of proof doesn't mean proof of absence.

  33. #1183
Which version of the TBs(there are 3)? Can you get a screen shot to see what you mean. I want to see it its a problem or you just don't like them which...well wouldn't be a problem really

@ Celestial - I know a different similar version is (with the who dares wins patch) but I wasn't sure about this one.

  37. #1187
    @sweeten, no worries.

No, I've not released this particular one yet as it's not finished and will be different in the final version. I will do at some point though. I'm having a small break at the moment doing other stuff

BK mod uses a modified basic tommy. Not these guys.

    @widowmaker
this isnt a big deal but...
this is what i mean they look nice up close but they look kinda bad in game but i dont know if everyone had this problem because the panzer grenadiers look great....
but giving you a picture wouldnt really help cuz the skin is fine but i think the resolution is to high that when they move the skin looks kinda weird thats all

  40. #1190
I believe you notice this if you're looking the game from a very high angle(modified camera view?)as it tries to retain sharpness
You can always lower the resolution to 1024x1024 if you want in PS and then you won't have that problem. It does also depend on the graphics card too....
There is one more thing on the sharpening filter I've set it so it doesn't blurr as soon as you zoom out as much...
anyways I like it in vanila game. So, since it's not a technical problem and you simply don't like it...there are plenty of other skins around

@vonDietz These skins are cool even lower the image to 1o24X1024. Try to lowering the resolution and add again with mod studio ,perhaps this will help you out.

Nice Stormtroopers/Panzergrenadiers mate! Although the Stormies are a littlebit too shiny (would prefer to see more dirt like your other skins).

May I sugest to try using the Panzergrenadiers helmets on the Stormtroopers? It might looks better. (If the modelmix works). Since the Panzergrenadiers look awesome with the normal helmet. And I think if you want to give the Stormtroopers a camo helmet you could use the Panzergrenadiers'.

P.S. Do I spot a Voss coat modelmix in the Stormtroopers?

this model mix is not working . I have test it , the only mix thats working is tankbuster torso legs with voss coat and the result is not 100% good, but is 95% acceptable.

Oh, they are Tankbusters! I was missing something for Stormtroopers.

  48. #1198
Celestial@ You've kinda lost me there...These ain't stormtroopers(model) mate, it's the model mix I use for PE grens
Anyways, these are WIPs though near finished(dirt, some minor details and fixes needed). They will not be released until perhaps Ostheer comes out anyways.

Geo@I know what you mean. I left gas mask there until I finish the front you see
