    Release: Specialized Production Mod Version 2.6!!!! (2.601 compatible)

    Welcome to the Specialized Production Mod V2.6

    2.6 is essentially a quick update of 2.4 to bring it to COH 2.601...it makes very few actual changes beyond that, except now you can play with an updated version of COH

    The main idea of this mod is to make production of units specialized. once you choose a side, you choose what tree you want to use, each one allowing certain units to be buildable. Each doctrine plays differently, and you have to develop different tactics for each one. some trees focus on less squads but micromanagement, while others focus on mass rushes, while still others focus on flanking or heavy weapons support. There are a ton of different combinations of trees on any given battle, making for a lot of replayability and no repetition!!!

    Overall gameplay is slightly faster paced but still manageable

    every tree focuses on certain units
    the only common units are engineers and riflemen and a commander, or their equivalents in other races.

    look under V2.0 for more info on the trees...

    this mod also adds an all-new upgrade/veterancy system, great skins from halftrack, a UI overhaul, a little bit higher popcap and resources, and tons of new abilities, upgrades, and units.

    -fixed axis tank bug
    -added new upgrade system to a few new units
    -updated .abps so all guns are visible
    -added 2 new black ops units...black ops mortar + black ops AT gun
    -all medics now have smgs...they are not very powerful, but no longer are they defenseless!!!
    -fixed old AT bug
    -minor tweaks + adjustments to upgrade system
    -added 3 allied upgrades at thee quarter master that specialize in one type of income...(for example, you can reduce fuel income in order to increase munitions income)
    -lots of other minor balance tweaks and changes

    TO install this mod, extract the zipped folder and place the .module file and the folder in the main COH directory. to uninstall just delete the files.

    THere is a shortcut included to launch the mod

    This mod also includes a few custom maps, which is part of why it is a large file...just be patient, and you'll get a lot of fun content.

    The mod works with all versions of coh(past 2.6) as well as OF and TOV (not tested fully for TOV)

    Little heads up. I think its wise to keep one thread about your mod. Unless you are making another thread for a mod. Since you made now 2 threads why not just change the other one? Well moderators dont like this for some reason.

    i found a few bugs,
    -if concealed drop is called, the fighter will do a bombing run then the smoke will appear, sometimes the bombs kill part of the infantry squad that paradrops.

    -timed drop (i think its called this) is supposed to drop 4 squads, it drops 1

    - "increase squad size" adds 2 more men to the squad instead of 1.

    - all of the LWGF, read "this should not be read anywhere" on the build menu.

    heres a few suggestions:
    -rename "flaming earth" napalm strike
    -when getting ability in CT for "flaming earth" rename it "heavy bombing runs" and make it give you bombing run and "flaming earth"
    -add an MG42 to the "support tree" the whermacht have
    - make the wall uncrushable, but be able to be destroyed with explosives (like 2-3 satchels or arty shells), like how the roadblock was in OF.

    Thanks for the suggestions...i will probably end up implementing them all in the next release

    as for the bugs...the increase squad size was intended...i wanted PG squads to be able to get up to 8 men so they could easily fight a british inf. section...
    THe Luftwaffe bug has already been fixed...along with many other bugs i found...they will all be released in V 2.1, which is to come out in the next week(i think)

    many no key in this mod, i have the german version of the game. Already put the .ucs file in the engine/local/german folder an renamed it. But doesnt work.

    sorry i dont have german version...all i kno is that when u put the UCS in the english file, there is no no key...

    perhaps it is because the ucs file is called SpecializedProductionMod.English.ucs??

    i dont kno how to convert to German, so if u kno tell me and ill do so....

    I love this mod but i cant build the "super tiger" or any advanced tank, it says i need tank commander or something, any way keep up the good work.

    And the "Panzer Elite", "Defensive Areal Kommand" is the best doctrine or addition for any game nothing will ever top that ever.

    you need an upgrade in the Panzer factory place...it should be in ui slot twelve(bottom right) for the advanced tanks

    and yes....the british tank tree can school pe areal command

    It still doesent work and its the Wermacht (or how you spell it) team i mean. It say i need heavy tank commander to constract, Panther, Tiger and super Tiger

    I have a saved game now with all uppgrades and everything else you can possibly build butt still cant build them

    LOL i found the problem...the upgrade was being hidden by the rally point button.....my fault.

    Ahh loking forward to it

    Any chance you will let the Tiger tank and the grouped squads like AT and machingun squad get levels when you level upp?

    And please give Wermacht some way to heal there troops.

    PE: heavy munitions panzer dont have any abilities that the text says minelaying and infantery support ( it´s a wery cool tank anyway just wanna let you know)

    When im at it a little higer population cap sould be great so many cool units so its a shame not being able to deploy more of them


    Recently broke my leg so i have played this mod more then 40h in a few days hehe

    lol too bad about ur leg....the munitions panzer gets the mine laying ability from the command tree (i think)...it was already there in OF, but it was useless, so i gave it a gun....
    infantry support just means that it gives infantry cover when motionless.
    ya I already raised the population cap for the next version.

    Aha that explains the tank

    Another thought the US Airborn is wery cool and original but its a wery great risk to take the Commander? out close to action. maybe give him some transportation?

    1. Maybe take away the dropped AT gun (from the command tree not the commander) that makes you more depentent on your commander (maybe increase the zone wich he can order drops a bit not much thou)

    2. The AT squad that is being dropped shuld probably come with wepon ready its kinda hard to get AV when u need 125 ammo and hafto own the territory mayby switch it with rangers?

    3. The supply drop is not wery fun Maybe change it for "heal drop" or a a BIG smokscren that covers huge area making it possibel to drop in squads and when the dust settles...

    4. If you switch at squad with ranger and / or the AT drop you have even more open slots mayby dropping an combat enginer to do some field work behind enemy lines. Or a recon team similar to the one PE have in your mod.

    OK back for another game (just played US airborn as you might have understod)

    Keep up the great work i realy love this mod.

    Ok i would like to be able to start the program in CoH Launcher or something. Or is there another way to add new maps kinda know the ones that came with the mod by now...

    And the healing for Axis must be a bug right? the icon is thre but you cant use it becouse you dont uppgrade your HQ ?

    ya there is another way to add new maps...
    just add them to the COH\WW2\Scenarios\MP folder

    however, in order to run them with the mod, you have to add -dev to the target in the shortcut...

    aha ok thx

    There is a bug where some allies are walking around with a 17 pounder and its not killebel or targetebel but it does do alot of damage.

    I´l try to get this to happend when i play as allies so i can explain better.

    hm....i noticed that too, only i was PE fighting against Commonwealth...still trying to figure out the problem

    it didnt seem like the gun could turn or move though, it only fired within the firing cone

    Yea must be the same error it was my enemy so i culdent move his gun, but he stod with it on the same locaton the whole time.

    Now that im thinking of it there where two of em close together. (Guns that is same bug on both)

    Dont know if it´s helps but ill uppdate if i find some more.

    In vanilla game axis soldiers culd heal themself using medpacks after you upgraded your HQ.
    So now the med packs are still there you just cant use then becouse you havto expand to battle phase or something.
    (I know its the uppgrades you do yo your HQ but no wich one
    )

    okay...i get it now...i just fixed it for the next release...

    now u need to buy a medpack upgrade from the Krampraft Centre...it costs 50 munitions

    UPDATE!!!

    okay so just an update with the mod...the next release is about 80-85% done...but my brother and i are going on vacation on monday, so we wont be able to do much modding....
    this postpones the release date of the next version to July 8 or 10....
    if there is enough demand, we may release a BETA of the next version....this will incorporate the new upgrade system for everyone EXCEPT the Panzer Elite, as well as fixes to all the bugs except the AT gun one...it may also include ATC as an option.

    Please reply if you would like us to release this before we leave...

    Changes from V2.1:
    -fixed all things suggested in forums...(except AT Gun thing...)
    -added all new UI w/ spec-Prod icons etc.

    -added completely new upgrade/veterancy system for all races except PE:

    --->Universal infantry like rifleman, airborne, commandos, tommys, grenadiers, volksgrenadiers, and stormtroopers, etc. get this system
    ----> on construction, the player chooses one of 3 (for weaker units only 2) specializations. all units can be either assault or defense, and some elite can be tactical
    ----> these specializations unlock certain abilities and weapons with veterancy
    -----> veterancy is a lot easier to get normally, and can also be bought thru upgrades for all races....
    ----> most tactical units will unlock an ability at level 3 that is currently invisible....however, you can still use it. it is a camouflage that only works when the squad is in light or heavy cover...try it out, its perfect for ambushes...(the shotgun squad unlocks this at rank 1)
    ----> engineer units have different options...they can be repair, combat, or universal(a mix of the 2)...these are self explanatory, but at combat lvl 2 u get a flamethrower, and at universal lvl 2 u get a mine detector.
    ---> i cant get focused firing for stormtroopers to dissapear, but to use it, you need to be lvl 3 tactical...

    -added Auto Territory Capture as an option
    -much more...cant remember


    NOTE: this is not well tested, as it is a beta, so do not expect a fully polished release


    Note: the maps are not included in this release in order to speed file download time...

    I was playing "soft" at teh begining of the matc but when I realised it wasent going so well just a few minutes in I did try in vain was fun as hell to actually lose against the ai without settting it on Expert.

    no...all the releases are packed as SGAs...so they overwrite each other. essentially, you simply cannot have the maps in the latest release.

    there is one way to get some of the maps...download Kabizzle's Map Packs, and place the maps in the COH\WW2\Data\Scenarios\MP folder...then add -dev to the end of the target section of your Specialized Production Shortcut.

    p.s. no im not back yet...it'll be a week or so till i can do more modding...

    and as for the screenshots...this mod doesn't edit skins or anything, so im not sure what to make screenshots of....

    mostly, it edits the game's tech tree as well as adding more units(a lot more units)...i guess i could post a screenshot of some of the edited UI, but im not on my modding comp...and wont be fore over a week,

    Mod is currently being slated for 2.3 Release.
    no 2.2 because the new version has a texture overhaul (currently finishing that up)
    also, vet system is being finished up, and a medic truck is being worked on, might not come until 2.4 though.

    okay, i just looked at the 2.5 patch changelog, and it's bad news...expect a delay in the next release, and your current versions may not work correctly after patch installation due to the gameplay changes. what i mean by this is that balance might fall apart, things won't match up, and it might become a mess. Patch should be coming soon, so if you guys could tell me what needs to be fixed (if the mod works at all), because surely i'll miss a few things...thank you for your patience and feedback in advance!

    I put the .ucs in the English folder and I keep seeing "$2189471289452309 No Key" on half the units. I've redownloaded and reinstalled a lot of times and I'd like to know why it's doing this. Thanks in advance...

    hm.....im not really sure why this is happening.....u do have the english version of the game, right???

    im assuming u do, i cant think of what it is.....the path should be this:

    C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\Engine\Locale\English\SpecializedProductionMod.english.ucs

    tell me more details if it persists

    Yes it's English, and yes I have it exactly like that. I also have it installed through Steam, will this make a difference? It hasn't in any other mods...

    okay.....i dunno what is happening....ill go thru the paths for all the files

    Specprod folder (in this folder there should be data, dataattrib, movies, etc.):

    module:
    C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\SpecializedProduction Mod.module

    hm.....perhaps its conflicting with the UCS files of another mod you have installed....try moving out the other mods' ucs's to some other safe place and running the game....if this doesn't fix it tell me....

    ya the problem is the modder's range for ucs is kinda small, so sometimes we have to use the same numbers, and when one number has two texts attached to it, the game goes crazy lol...
