How about not asking at all ? The mod team will post something whenever they have something to show im sure .

Asking for updates every few days isnt really helpful to the progress of a race mod , some mods wont post anything for weeks or even months at a time , doesnt mean they havent been working on anything or that the mod is dead , just that they have nothing to show.

-major texture touch ups for most units
-finalizing untextured models for new commanders and heroes
-coding in alternate commander powers to replace orbital bombardment
-possible addition of unit to other race
-(soon) texturing of custom units
-(hopefully in the near future) repackaging of materials into internal beta 1.06 to be tested for errors
-(only god knows) [if beta 1.06 is solid] package beta 1.06 into public beta version
[if beta 1.06 is FAIL] rework to beta 1.07 for more internal testing

Lionel, "only god knows" is the only phrase you need to look at to recognize the obvious moding answer.

Unless you are on the internal beta team. But then, you wouldn't be questioning here.

Sounds to me like adding the fallen to CSM's or others if you believe they're really not as bad as the dark angels say they are That would be a neat tier 2 reskin unit of csms, as to not have to dabble in balance, just a cool additional choice to the race on the recieving end

Yep Cypher is being done. He is one of the War40k main characters I've been wanting to do for 4+years and was on my "hit list". Imperial Honor's The Fallen Mod will be pleased although he tells me he can't finish it due to skuel and studies. But a Fallen faction mod shouldn't take too long to do for anyone wishes to move it forward. I mean, how much new 3d stuff would The Fallen need as a faction apart from Cypher himself?

Thud, you don't seem to know the confusion around the Fallen, hm?
There are varying 'kinds' of Fallen: the ones who followed the Lion and who turned on their erstwhile brothers, the ones who tried to loyally protect Caliban and who are now considered traitors, those who were from Terra who were set aside from the Great Crusade and rebelled against the Lion when he turned on them (those the DA try to silence by all means), and the ones, sucked and lost in the warp who slowly became tainted and turned to chaos in their will to live or in their madness...

Hard to mod a single 'united' and coherent Fallen faction then unless you decide to be very restrictive and reduce the 'Fallen' but to one of the above mentioned groups... Notwithstanding Cypher seeming to belong to a non-chaotic kind of Fallen.

I am unsure a Branching Fallen mod to consider the differing sides of The Fallen Angels would work but anything is possible. I'm more looking at 3d assets and minimizing work although is it worth it to have a Fallen faction? What would they bring to DoW gameplay apart from complementing the Dark Angels?

@thudo, lemme dig around the fluff world for that answer, WAIT, there is the star child theory in which Cypher has to kill the crippled body of the emperor so that he can be reborn! center him leading an army of fallen trying to get to him, even if it means working with the enemy

If I remember correctly, there was a section about Cypher and the Fallen in the old (now ancient) Chaos Space Marines codex. I believe it said something about the Fallen mysteriously flocking/ converging to Cypher, as if being drawn. I wish I still had that book. Shoot, I don't even have the issue of White Dwarf that an article about Cypher was in.

So, correct me if I'm wrong- but don't the Fallen kind of follow Cypher (the ones that didn't truly turn to Chaos anyway)? As Cypher makes his way to Terra, doesn't he cause riots and stuff like that?

there are multitudes of theories as GW hasnt made an official statement of it, it is used to kill the crippled emperor in the star child theory, in another he is making his way to the emperor to repent for his crimes then kill himself with the sword, and another that the "fallen" are actually the loyal ones, and the new DA chapter is a secretly heretical body
