Hi gang, it looks great - I strongly believe that the FoK crash is caused by world owned units such as the IG and Chaos ones on the map. Might just be units, but it might be buildings too.

Right, well as mentioned I don't have a DoW playable PC until September. Yesterday was an exception, so don't wait for feedback from me.
Facts:
In my kronus map, FoK would cause CTD's 100% of the time when there was a world owned horror on the map. This was resolved by removing the horror.
Deleting all of the in game objects will allow the game to run with FoK on.
The SCAR of this map will not be mod compatible.
End facts.
Basically, the thing to do is delete every object on island 8, load FoK. If needed delete the next island, 7, load FoK. etc.... but I have not the PC to do this with (Or we make it non FoK for release, or just non FoK fullstop)
Hm... Maybe we should leave everything the way it is, as JL said, this isn't going to be tailored to work for mods. Maybe if we include instructions on how to make this map compatible for FoK, and any other mod it's having trouble with, we can save ourselves lots of work. If people follow these instructions to the letter, there should be no problem with online compatibility.
this alone makes the work to makes the CMPII mod compatible a waste of time.The SCAR of this map will not be mod compatible
As i said it before ; i won't do anything to be compatible with a mod.
If someone want to waste time doing it, good, he'll then have to recode the scar and implement it on the map....good luck !

Fuggles, I'll make the map FOK compatible once the map has been released to the public. (supposing the mappers are cool with that). I'm wondering if you can make the SCAR FOK compatible? If so, I can fix the map and you could fix the SCAR.
But for now, just DC then SS.

It's very easy to make this map mod compatible, you have to basically add the commander to the list. The caveat is that if you add a commander which does not exist such as say the black templar commander whilst playing DC, or any SS commander whilst playing DC then you get a SCAR error.
I apologise for my recent absence. My net had been knocked out for a bit. I'll get right on testing, see what goes down.

for the SCAR you can import the SCAR markers from my test map, which should take the sting out of it.
I'm afraid that I am unable to do the minimaps etc owing to the PC situation and you've seen my attempt at a loading screen![]()
I'll do an icon/minimap, if I have some time free later on today.

Tbh it only takes a few seconds to do icon/minimap, so just so long as someone does it eventually its not something to stress over.
As for a loading screen I remember JL was working on one a long time ago when it came up before. I don't think he ever finished though, so I figure its anyone's game to do one if they want.
Sorry I haven't been able to be very active, I'm moving into college on the 14th so I've been rather busy getting stuff in order.

I think we need someone to step up and do the ocean and underwater parts for us. Once that is done I think that's all the texturing done.
btw - this next week is the week I'll be gone. Hopefully we can get everything polished and ready for release soon.

not really, the coral reef decals will be good, if not i'll send you some others i got in stock there.
a good trick is painting a gradient from the shore (almost white) to the deep water (deep/darkblue) then aply the decal.

Wow...my first DP.
I can't help but feel that this map has completely lost momentum. There were 9 of us who made this map - SOMEONE must be able to push on.
I'll have my PC back in 2 weeks, although I'll have very little spare time so it will take me about that again to finish the coast lines.
I will see this finished - if no one else will do it, then can someone please send me the final versions and I'll finish it when it gets done.

What is it that you want from the team specifically?
As of next Saturday I have my DoW PC back, so if someone sends me the latest file before then I will crack on with coast lines and whatever else needs doing (unless you fancy starting that JL?)

It is my belief that following the alpha, no-one else has any more thoughts on things that need changing beyond what has been stated in this thread already.
I think that all that needs doing is:
Add a warpgate to Jack's area
Fix rocky outcrops around map edge
Fix bugs identified by the team in this thread
Add SCAR and check it works (and over LAN/Internet if possible)
Add minimap/icon/loading screen
Create Installer
I'm ready to put this to bed this weekend if possible, just let me know what needs doing and it will be done. In the case of a loading screen, I can't guarantee it will be done well... but I'll do it anyway! Possibly a montage from the map sections... even Rocky had a montage.
However, it will be on GIMP so that may take some time to learn.

Still work needs doing on the coast lines and especially back of JL's area and the south of mine. Also the south of mine needs either an impass or a more obvious crossing.
I await JL's instructions so as to not duplicate work.

so... got a bit bored. Done a bit of tidying / editing - I'll send to JL and see what he thinks.
EDIT - just looking at the first CMP loading screen and it's just text talking about the map, the contributers etc. I think we should follow suit, describing the vast troubles we've had and also the stargates.

i just saw Fuggle pm stating that he get the scar implemented and have done some change on the map.
I want to thank you Fuggles for what you have done for this project, coding the whole teleporting thing was a big chunk of code chopping and folowing the directions i gave you was not the easier thing to do. And now you completed the job by implemeting the map with the code and mandatory things to make it working:

Package it up with the installer would you JL? Ira hasn't seen that, so he'd be a good test subject (bwahahaha).
EDIT - don't thank me too soon JL - I'm testing the SCAR and realise that some tweaking needs to be done. If you send me the map I'll do the minimap / icon and get the SCAR running smoothly before sending out for final tests.

I'm still here, except my Map Editor is almost non functional. Looks like I'm going to have to re install Dark Crusade... dunno why. The install disc is being hard to find... I'm really sorry about all this. I mean, as of now I can't do much of anything.
