Apparently AA is not working properly with nVidia cards due to HW2 overriding the driver settings.
In Remy's words...
The AA is due to a bug in HW2. Basically HW2 says it doesn't want AA every frame and unless you are in Quincunx or 8X the driver listens to the application.
