Relicon UK - London baby, London!

  1. #1

Games Relicon UK - London baby, London!

So... Canterbury not so good, huh?

How about...Gamerbase in the London Trocadero?!

I had this suggested to me and having checked it out then they have 60 PC's that you can book for either £4 and hour, or we can get a day pass for £25 on Saturday, or £15 on Sunday. Opening hours are 10-24 on Saturday and 12-18 on Sunday so hey, choice is yours.

They allegedly have a list of games, but I'll be jiggered if I can find it on their website. They have DoW1 and are soon to have DoW2, but do not have CoH (boo!). Oh, and they said that with advance warning they would do mods, so maybe we can get some combiner loving or FoK going on.

Anyhoo, they don't seem to need any booking fees and we can just ring up a bit in advance and say "Book 30 PC's for me, my good man!"

So... how's this? No BYOPC and no CoH, but it's in London and we could make a day or weekend out of it.

    TTFN,

I'm definitely interested, of course the only way I could go is when my dad is not away in Bahrain, but if it's next year I think that'll make it more likely.

Unlike all the other forumites, I will actually tell you that I'm from the UK.
Being a music student with too much free time, I'm certainly going to this as long as it's on the weekend.

Man I wish this was in the states. If it was I would put together a whole caravan of Asheville Relic fans to attend.

I think this might have come around exactly because us Euro dolts don't get enough Relic related weekend goodness.

I cant promise attendance, but I'de fancy going if I'm free.

If this is somehow in between semesters i'm so going to attend!

What is this? I don't even...

Birmingham seems to be very doable by train (eurostar -> London-Birmingham, probably 4-5 hours from Brussels or Paris) and is also reachable by airplane.

Depending on my university schedule and finances, I would also be interested. Especially if Relic would support or attend the event.
Hint to Relic; host a preview HW3 beta multiplayer feast @ the event...

    Wow, that is awesome Fuggles.

Also, Take heart Australian Relic fans. If enough interest gathered, I could potentially organise a smaller, Brisbane based event next year as well at the Lan Center that I work at currently.

Great news, and if the pricing info on the City of Heroes is anything to go by it will be immensely cheap.

I am very interested, and shouldn't have any problems attending.

    I'm interested.

    When's DoW2 getting released anyway?

    Next spring.

Can we have this as an announcement, BTW? Since not everyone checks GD.

I'd be interested, depending if I get a job down south.

I think Relic is a mostly UK based company, if so, it might be worth while contacting them directly.

I should be able to be there. Seeing as I live in Birmingham it'd be pretty rude not too!

I highly doubt that I could make it but I'm interested anyway .

    Great job mate.
"Celtic fans right now sit in silence and watch, and hope that the damage doesn't get any worse from this Graham Carey free kick. Away by Wilson. Teale. Still options waiting in the middle for St. Mirren...OH, AND THEY HAVE ANOTHER ONE! It's stunning! It's absolutely stunning at Hampden park! And it's Steven Thompson, who scores his thirteenth goal of the season, and that might just be the goal that takes St. Mirren into the league cup final!" - 27/01/2013

So this would be scheduled sometime around the launch of DoW2?

Ace, as they say over there. I would be surprised if Relic did not at least voice support with an essential thumbs up if you reach critical mass.

It's likely to beat out the Homeworld launch party for attendance at any rate.

(Also sorry unlikely to make it.)

Well it definately sounds interesting. Though i doubt i'll be able to make it.. travelling expenses, as i doubt a trip from Denmark to the Relicon is going to be cheap.. And then there is the time.

weekender please! Makes the trek to birmingham worthwhile...

I'd be on it like Beth Ditto on the last slice of pizza.

I''ll be at the i-series i34 event (UK's largest lan event - 2000+ gamers over 5 days) this coming weekend near Birmingham... might try and slip out for a look at the venue...

    Hmm...
It does sound good but seeing im under 18 and really doubting that my parents would let me go to UK just so i can be with some strangers and play games for two days, but if my cousin does go do Ireland around that time i might try to tag up and then swim for it
Or i could start the trip with a bike around now and be there in time XD

Is amazing so man people are going to come attend just to play the Homeworld games, really returns my faith in humanity.

Because naturally everyone who's willing to come to a Relic LAN party are diehard HW fans.

DoW2 time would mean spring next year, would mean after February (i.e. when I turn 18), which would mean I could make use of this alcoholic bar, unlike in Vancouver.
