    Works fine with VPN and Skirmish

    Hey guys out there.
    A friend and I tested it with VPN Wippien
    and in skirmish/combat mode (in German its called "Gefecht". I only have the german version sorry).
    Then he have joined over the friend list to the game and it works fine.

    Hey there I have a small bug and I was wondering what I could do about it:

    I have the NHC 1.4d installed, but when I click on the shortcut it says something about it trying to run 1.4c and that it needs to be v2.4 to play. However, a few moments later CoH runs and I get to the mod just fine.

    I thought maybe I had some legacy NHC 1.4c file in there so I uninstalled the mod then did a search for 'nhc' and deleted all files in the CoH directory and then reinstalled the mod. Same thing happens.

    Its not a game breaker, but it is kinda strange. What should I do?

    Je préfère pas trop mettre des skin dans mon mod. Il y a moyen de rajouter des skin immédiatement dans le jeu sans avoir de mod. Les gens peuvent les rajouter eux-même. Il y en a des pas mal qui trainent sur le forum.

    Personnellement, je met une bande son et des skin personnalisé dans un dossier différent car uploader la bande son pour que les allemands parlent allemand et les anglais bien anglais, ça prend 1 Go et pour les joli Skin, plus de 400 Mo... J'ai juste inclus quelques skin pour les héros dans mon mod et ça fait déjà 30 Mo!

    Donc si quelqu'un veut rajouter des skin, qu'il le fasse.

    Hi (or "Moin") I'm new on the forum.
    The nhcmod of you ab2531 is atm the best mod I played till now.
    but I found some "bugs" in the version 1.4d for example the standard
    british soldier have all riflegrenades on their Enfields if they have no special weapon but they shoot with their rifles normal. I'm checking all things in the game and try to create a bugreport for you. (btw I play it on 2.502)
    So thanks to you for this nice mod.

    This bug has been reported to me about 10 times already. I already have a list of bug to correct, but I will gladly welcome your bugreport. I have maybe missed some of them.

    I dunno about the normal riflemen but my highlanders did have riflegrenades.

    More importantly, highlanders were 25mp more expensive than a normal rifle squad. Was this intentional?

    By the way, is it possible to change my vote in the poll? I earlier voted " i dont care" but I want to switch it to " keep it, its like powell". To my knowledge the AI wont build it and hence there is no need to pull it out. If you dont want to use it, dont! Its a simple joke and the in-game model is hilarious.

    In the stat, the Higlanders are 10% more accurate and have +1 in speed but that's a secret...
    You can't change your vote, sorry. Anyway, I am the only one who will decide to keep or not the Eselschreck.

    Hey, I noticed a few small bugs while I was playing the Wehrmacht Defensive Doctrine. The gun on the 88mm bunker disappeared and it stopped firing at anything. Later I built a new one and it was fine except that it refused to attack ground...

    Also, the mortar bunker is strange. The incendiary shot will not light up in flames yet has much longer range than the normal barrage. Is this supposed to happen?

    About the 88 bunker, err... it sometimes happens without any reason. I don't know why.

    About the bunker, there are no incendiary shot but a long range shot.

    It is possible to play in LAN with 2.502 but you must play in skirmish/combat mode and your friend must join the game. The "multiplayer" button make crash the game.

    Hmm I was able to press the multiplayer button just fine -- I even had 2 games pop up which I'm hoping were others using NHC. My friend lives in the USA and I'm in Turkey so a LAN is not possible. As a "b" plan does NHC work with virtual LANs like Hamachi?

    On a separate note once school is done I could try to help translate the mod into Turkish. Turkish is my 2nd language but its by no means horrible either..

    About artillery in the mod.
    The british 25-pounder on Royal Artillery Doctrine won't get the upgraded ammo
    (I don't know how its called in english 'caue i have the german coh) so it has a shorter range then the m7 priest. And also the 105mm howitzer of the american forces on infantry doctrine both barrages (normal and upgraded) have the same range over the hole map (on Lyon 2p).

    Are you sure that you are using the last version? These bugs has been fixed for the NHCmod OF v1.4d.

    strange I'm sure of using 1.4d. But I also have some damaged icon (PINK icon: Call RAF and ToV Bonusvehicles) and a great amount of missing names or decr. (there stands something like"$...(some numbers) no range$) so it can be that my download was damaged or the has some glitches with patch 2.502 or it is my german game version. it is so but I hope this can be fixed *smile*.
    regardless of this minor bugs (the game didn't crash so this is something) it is very good the new units work and even if don't have all the names or descr I can play with it.

    I know that all the text won't work correctly in other languages than English. It was because I have fixed the module quickly to make it work with the 2.502 but not completely for the other languages. Sorry, it will be fixed for NHCToV.

    Note that you can edit the module yourself to make to text work correctly.

    @ab2531: Did you add the M36B1 Jackson Sluggler yourself? People in the Armoury are telling me it's a vCoH unit. but it's nowhere to find in vCoH. I think you once said you made it yourself. And since I saw the pictures he posted, there was also a discription in the building menu. This discription is not in CoH-style, but more like a community member wrote it.

    Nope, I have no M36B1 Jackson Sluggler. I have used a firefly and put a skin to make it look like a slugger but I have abandoned this idea and create a Firefly ace and Pershing ace instead.

    Hey Ab, Abseloutely loving you're mod. I laughed for a good five minutes when I noticed what the Eselschreck was. Have yet to have a disappointing game as well...

    But one little thing. Could you make a little version with huge popcaps? I've tried doing it myself but couldn't for the life of me get it to work, and would really love as a few times been put on the defensive and wasn't able to retaliate as my popcap was severely limiting what I could take off the front line (A tiger and pather with infantry support and several bunkers, Mg and paks, were holding off a constant wave of em) so I was sorta stuck on the defensive.

    The base pop cap has already been doubled for all sides. I nearly never have problem with pop cap. I have even add an upgrade that boost your pop cap by 30 for the Whermacht or 50 for the Allies. How much do you need?

    Well, I personally tried changing it to at least 500 so I would never have to worry about it unless I was intending to invade D-day style. Another mod has some ridcously high, but just another 50 on top of what you already have on should give me the right amount to field a decent sized force to punch through.

    Strangely, those upgrades don't seem to actually change it for me. I've never noticed the cap go up for either side when it was researched.

    The difficulty since TOV has been stupidly difficult. I used to be able to kill the hard AI and now get stopped by it. If I play normal...it's TOO easy :X.

    This is my first time posting here!!!
    And I would like to say that your mod is the best game I have played in a long time! I think you should keep the Eselschreck (donkey) in as it makes your mod one of a kind. I hope you pass all your exams since my play time of your mod has only been against the AI as I can't play it online with ToV.
    On another note, I also hope to see more new units or a few upgrades to current... Maybe a flamethower Eselschreck? With a sniper for a rider and it can hide just like a sniper!
    My dream new units would be the #1) Panzerwerfer 42 (to replace arty strike for defence doc with max of 2 units, kinda like callopie), and #2) Sturmtiger (to replace the current arty tank in blitz doc, this unit would just rock, it even looks mean and when I used to play BF 1942 SW it was an awsome hitter), finally #3) the Geman officer... Kinda lame... How about a redue on him? I would suggest Lt Steiner from the great war movie Cross of Iron. Strong leader and infiltrater unit with a group of cross holders by his side.

    good point about redoing the wehrmacht officer , at the moment hes just a 1 man version of the knights cross holders, could be worth redoing him with some more abilities or a better firearm.

    For the panzerwerfer 42 , I think ab2531 will need the permission of the battle of the bulge mod team , since they were the first to create that specific vehicle, I think.

    Same for the sturmtiger, BotB team did that too , if ab will put it in , it might be a bit overpowered , considering it had like over 200mm frontal armor, a machine gun, and HE firepower that puts the StuH 42 to shame (it was designed to demolish bunkers/strongpoints, but too little too late) , so it will need to be balanced somehow. As much as we axis players want to goosestep all over the allys base , I'm sure there are ally-favored players who might disagree at such OP'ness. Not saying that its a bad idea , just mean that there has to be some sort of check and balance system for each unit.

    And wasnt it Sergeant Steiner? He was promoted from corporal to full sergeant in the middle of the movie ,I dont think that he was ever promoted to lieutenant by that jealous captain stransky
    and hell yes , a 'sergeant steiner' unit would be awesome for wehrmacht , considering the americans have lt.powell from mohaa

    Long time no see guys, I just came back from holidays and spent a lot of time playing old games(Starcraft, Panzer general, people general, red alert 1,...) or new games (End War, Dawn of War,...) and watching TV. It is time that I return to do some modding.

    @WunderWaffen SS: First, thanks for your first comment. About the Eselschreck, I have thought about a lot of weird and crazy idea like an Officer on donkey or a suicide donkey or a flying donkey... but the Eselschreck is already crazy enough .
    About the Panzerwerfer 42 and Sturmtiger, they are available in the Battle of the Bulge mod. It is a awesome realistic mod. Mine is just for fun. I don't know if it is a good idea to add more vehicles to the axis. They already have a bigger arsenal than the allies and as col.sanders has said, it would be unbalanced and I need the permission of the BotB team. I know that my mod is doesn't really care about balance but I think it is quite fair.
    Finally about the German officer name, I am open to any suggestion. It is unfortunate that there is no famous game where you play as a german soldier like Powell in MoHAA. If anyone else has a suggestion, he can post it. By the way, someone can remember the name of the german sniper in the movie Stalingrad?

    Oh yeah, before I release a full new version of my mod, I am about to release first a mini-version of my mod that contains only the heroes. One soldier hero and on tank hero for each army:
    -SAS and Firefly Ace for the Commonwealth.
    -Lt. Powell and Pershing Ace for the US.
    -German Officer (need new name) and Tiger Ace for the Whermacht.
    -Wilhelm Deinhard and Tiger Ace or elite King Tiger for the Panzer Elite.
    It will be a small and portable mod. I haven't decide on a name yet. I will make it fully compatible with CoH, OF and ToV latest patch.

    as far as a wehrmacht officer name goes , maybe put in something like " Lt.Steiner with some sort of description like "sgt. steiner [from cross of iron movie] has finally been promoted to lieutenant". Its a shame there are no axis based video games out there , mostly thanks to political corectness these days. (like moh, although for the original call of duty , there was a single demo mod - level called the german front mod, ill post the link here if anyones interested in trying out this rare experience http://germanfrontmod.looki.de/artik...d=35&sektion=2 )

    enemy at the gates german sniper was major Erwin König , a name that the current wehrmacht sniper uses (its one of his replies when clicked on -"major konig reporting" , or something like that)

Thanks guys for all the info, I'm not really that good at installing mods, i've just figured out how to play custom maps thanks to the forms. BotB mod eh? Your right Sgt Stiener... I just watched it again. A promotion to Lt would be a cool idea. Stiener would be my choice on the poll. Yes your mod is fun and now I must wait until you release the next step in fun. Thanks again!
    PS: Maybe the new Wolfenstien may have some cool bad German officer names.

    I just thought to Wolfenstien as the new officer name. That was the name of the castle, not a soldier but that would do it.

    Hello again...

    Hi there. It is I, WunderWaffen... I had to change my name for the forms as the one I had did not go over well
    So I just wanted to say that I tried the BotB mod. It's good, took some time to get used too. The big draw back was the high munitions cost for all arty and such, I could only fire the Stumtiger once and my 4 stukas never even got out the door. . I liked it, however I enjoy NHC more as it is more about fun and to give more ubber bang to your enemy on either side. I had another question however about a change of sorts, the 88's. I had a buddy run up to two of my 88's with two groups of flamers and poof fried my guys and took them over. Later I tried the same thing against his British 17 pounder and did not have the same "I took your guns" results. Perhalps you could make a sand bag emplacement much like you did for the Flakvierling 38 20mm AA? And Wolfenstien would be a cool name also. Still like Sgt Steiner more. Your thoughts?
