    Y'know, the artwork on the cvt/ ff gives me the impression that it has an asymetrical design, with the engine(s) on the main fuselage, and sporting a massive weapons pod (something about which screams "Plasma Bomb Launcher"), instead of the two (engine?) pods on yours.
    Still, like the rest of them, a very nice model. I'm looking forward to a full release (and a fresh SP campaign).

    I was thinking that too a few minutes ago, i was looking at the concept and the model. I tried to get the same angle on the pictures, and for the life of me, i couldn't get the second engine to sit behind the ship and not be visible.

    Maybe it did only have a single engine.i'll see if i can cook something up

    Seconded, looks great. Come to think of it, the only blatantly asymetrical ships I can think of are they Vaygr destroyer and the Taiidan flagship. Of course, if you think it comes out better go for it!

    Reminds me a bit of the P-38. It's different, engines look powerful, but what's with the little fin in the back?

    I just got a brilliant idea for the beast, lets say that an infected shipyard produces a carrier; everything will be enhanced like armour values, speed, attack, accuracy, build time. And lets say that if the carrier produces some interceptors then that squadron will be more enhanced. Or lets say a beast shipyard produces another shipyard then the other one produces the same then that's going to enhance alot. if you don't get what im saying then search genetical enhancement or the double helix in Wikipedia.

    What about a gene system, allowing the beast get some number of advantages and disadvantages depending on the genes the player gives him at the start of the game?
    Other than that, the beast should start low tech, as it gains technology by infecting ships.

    yep, that's what I am explaining, it's kinda like when the Borg assimilate something or build something, it's genetically upgraded automatically. ohh, lets say that if the beast gains a new weapon it docks with either the mothership or a shipyard and it uploads it into the data core.

    That concept is great! The Titan capital ships are developing quite a character. Can't wait to see it modeled.

    Still need to do a destroyer, and then the capital class is finished. Things left to do after I finish the destroyer;

    1-Finish corvette class, need a laser corvette and mine corvette
    2-finish bomber
    3-finish probe, sensors etc.
    4-Make a few subsystems etc.

    after that the titan race is pretty much done. all that will be left is scripting/hodding etc. Pretty dam good, and all in less then 30days.

    At this rate I might be able to get around to making the taiidan too:P


    anyways, here are the Titan capital class ships. If you look on page one of the thread, you can find the frigate class, and the fighter class too.

    Amazing work whisper, as always. I quite like the way that the mothership is considerably bigger than a shipyard, I never really liked the way that stock motherships were basically nerfed shipyards with a nametag. (more speed, less building abilities, subsystems etc) The shipyard fits the titan naam design ethic perfectly, I cant wait to see these all textured, hoded and ingame.

    Love the YouTube video of Talros coming up with the Ship Yard concept, and the MSN conversation with Whisper2Me asking when the concept would be completed. Over 2 hours of time taken compressed into 9 minutes. Amazing work. Perhaps you could do something similar, Whisper2Me, of you hashing out a ship mesh.

    @rev Species 116. I tried taping on 3ds max, but it always tapes the secondary perspective screens too. If i can fix it, I will do a mesh taping

    it will get changed, the old shipyard model, and the old frigate model, plus the Battlecruiser will be re-skinned and placed in a Graveyard. All salvageable in one of the missions.

    Also going to implement them in a few of the multiplayer maps

    A unique titan naam battlecruiser?! This I have to see. I wonder if when you release the finished mods will you include the replaced ones (that aren't reskinned) such as the old titan shipyard and battlecruiser? (just out of curiosity)

    no, the missile frigate is n the titan build list. Im talking about the first variation of frigates i built. Dont believe I posted any screen shots of it. So it might be a little surprise to some

    sorry, my spelling mistake. We only have torpedo frigates. Torpedos frigates are strong vs destroyers and other frigates. weak vs fighters or super capitals

    while on the topic of capitals, Id like to present the Titan equivalent of the Hiigaran dreadnought. Made from borrowed Hiigaran technology. This model I made in 45minutes. give or take, while surfing for music on youtube

    I tried to give it a hiigaran cross-over look. Sadly I didn't have a concept from talros to work from, so i made one myself. Came up with this shape, I think t fits well into the fleet.

    Very nice indeed, although from the top view those steering / protective fins look waay to far from the back of the ship, Do you intend to move them closer or attach them to the main hull in any way?

    Oh I see, I was referring to the "Missile Frigate" in post 513 (page 11 for me)

    That dreadnaught looks beastly. Like an ion cannon frigate on PCP.

    So will it basically be a super-capital ship killer?

    more or less, I made a hiigaran dreadnought, so the titans needed their equivalent. Only 1 is allowed per side at a time.

    I'll get around to texturing it soon, Just need to finish the RU carrier, and the I have to wait for Talros to approve the shipyard model so i can texture it.

    The frigate from page 11, has been replaced. the model wont be used. Rather it will end up in the grave yard as a junk model.

    also added goblins to the dreadnought

    On most.....well all now that the battlecruiser is gone......of the titan capital ships I have noticed a large, flat pillar like extrusion on either side of the ships. The shipyard and mothership have them near the front, while the carrier and dreadnought have them at the back. Are these to be turret hardpoints or are they just there to look cool?

    Some of the ships will use those ass turret HP's. some wont

    @MelvimVM, i used zBrush to render the images, and also using zBrush for the beast effects on the ships.

    I have some bad news, Im leaving in a few days for Europe and wont be back for a while. Dont know for how long, I will try to update and work on the mod, but its going to be at a snail's pace...

    I should be leaving around thursday or friday. Hopefully when, and if i come back I can pick it up again and work on it

    This also means that most likely we wont have a release in august since I wont be here.

    Well enjoy man, wherever you're going (but your screwed if you come over to england, man our government is retarded. I mean they tax you for having a nice view from your windows....LITERALLY)

    Anyway to prevent me from going off on a politics induced rampage let us change the topic. It will be interesting to see how you (talros and whisper) handle the taiidan when you get round to it, if your originality with the titan naam race transfers over to the taiidan race then I'm sure we will see some very interesting designs and models from you.

    so after long consideration, i have decited to release whats been done so far. It wont be a full release that I hoped for, but a demo

    we will release it sometimes tomorrow or the day after.
