If your going to Germany than say hello to Talros, Mathis and Fox DF. Ohh, I heard you were going to get rid of the BC, please reconsider this, PLEASE!

read back a bit, the unused models are going to be released too, and apparently in the campaign you will be able to capture them and use them. At least that is how I interpreted it.

  4. #754
Im just waiting on moleman now, need to send him some models that he needs to hod and script, then we put up a release.

Not sure when he will be available.

  6. #756

Yes I am and I have been working on it. Part of what I have been thinking of is what projects might fit your interests, not be overwhelming, but still end up giving the community some useful tools.

I like to think that what the community has done in the years since HW2 has added a lot to the game and I woul like to see that continue.

Thanks, you have no idea how long it takes to write that with a PSP

Last update for a while. I've decided to move the release date for the first demo to setember 30th... Sorry for the delay

Anyways, heres one of the stations for the Titan-Naam which gets overtaken by the beast and ends up as their outpost

on other news, i leave tomorrow morning and will be back September

  13. #763
Will you attempt to make the Organic Layering 3d?

  14. #764
yeah, i already have 3d templates for the organic layering, it will spawn on a ship once its infected.

  15. #765
    cool. Can we see them?

Nice work whisper, I'm kinda glad that you didn't release your work now like you said you would, as releasing the demo later will allow you to polish everything up and make sure everything is high quality rather than rushing the mod into a releaseable state. Enjoy your holiday man, lookin forward to seeing these models all textured and ingame. :P

@Fangstergansta: no need to apologize about your English. These forums are here so people can try to communicate with each other and so I am glad that you are trying to do that.

The HomeWorld 2 "SDK" as you call it should be available for download here or at the hwaccess.com

My big file viewer doesn'nt work!
Have you a link for the "sdk" because i don't know where i can find it in the forum?

    thanks a lot!

  21. #771
Wow, all this work is truly amazing, Homeworld 3 is a big title and it looks like you're living up to it. BTW; why are the cylinders angled on the station? Wouldn't it make more sense if they were perpendicular to the support structures (up/down from given perspective), and it would look better IMO...

    But I havn't played HW:C...
    Progress: 12%

  22. #772
    But I havn't played HW:C...
These ships/stations aren't too much more similar to Somtaaw designs than, say, HW2 Hiigaran ships are to Kushan ships. Though I dare say I think the frigates emulate some of the best features of the Faal Corum (Somtaaw "mothership"). So not having experienced Cataclysm shouldn't lessen your opinions about the angles of the "sausage-link" containers, I wouldn't think.

    Emmm sausages...

To be honest cylinders either denote a weak structure or gas tanks to me... but those are just my 2 cents .

One thing I have just noticed about the titan shipyard, Talros' concept has a skeletal version and a "complete" version with the capital ship docks built. The model that whisper has made includes the capital docks. Are you going to seperate these so you have that as a final model and a "starter" model that lacks said capital docks?

Either way its an awesome concept.

As for the station I quite like the cylindrical containers on those struts, however it would probably look 'tougher' if they were closer to the station itself, leaving the rest of the extrusions to taper off into neat points.

Well I'd assume that the capital dock is a subsystem like on other shipyards so... likely the starter model .

Ah ok, I was hoping that the capital subsystem would function like the concept art and the vaygr shipyard, Either way its a cool ship for a cool fleet.

I wanted to notify the community and Whisper2me of my latest absence so i thought this would be the best place to do it, almost immediatly after reciving the last models from whisper2me i was called in to my trade school(im still here) so i no long have access to the models, the mod or even the game for a little while, so im going to have to step a side for a while in working on this mod until i can ensure that my Macbook can handle HW2 and the modding tools required for it.

A belated welcome back to whisper2me! how was europe?

  31. #781
Question! Are you guys going to be using the beast infection spikes from cata? You know the ones on the CS etc, and how are ya gonna get infection to work with the hw 2 engine and balance issues etc.

I'm pretty sure that mods aren't supported on the mac version of HW2.

i probably should have clarified, Mac book pro running Windows 7, runs HW2 fine i jsut need to test out the mod tools

  34. #784
Macs can run most HW2 mods; I can assure you of that. But there are some like HWU that most unfortunately don't work. And yeah, mod tools are another story; good luck finding any of those for mac.

i was acutaly running windows under bootcamp however, i got daring and deleted my mac osx partition and everything has been running smoother since , at the moment im about to install the mod tools and re-test the mod to make sure everything is in order for the moment, then ill be off to work on the shipyard if i still have the files stored

  38. #788
im hoping u have the files, since i upgraded to windows 7 i lost everything except a few things from the beginning of the mod.

From what i recall, i never send u the textured ship yard, might have to remake it.

ah the dll problems, if your talking about correctly registering them, you need to register them using command prompt in admin mode in order for the .dll's to register right, im going to take a look tonight, i just finished installing HW2 and it appears to be working fine, next is to test the most up-to-date version of the mod and then the tools, i will continue posting updates...i just saw that you said win 7 64 bit, idk if they will work or not, ive had no experience with 64 bit os's however im building one in my A+ courses

Great work so far, watched every single model. The Progenitor are sweeeeeet. Although I have to agree with some of forumers here - I'd love to see a fully functional "The Progenitor Mothership" in this mod, maybe somewhere in single player. It's just a great model - of course putting all the derelict parts together :P
Was about to put a cool signature... but apperantly it's too large.

  42. #792
this is looking to be an awesome mod ,all of those models look great. can't wait to play

hmmm idk why its not uploaded anymore, i think whisper2me was the one hosting it, but due to whisper2me's request i have finished uploading the Sands of Time v1.3 latest edition, there are many problems and so far its only a developers release so please do not think that this is the real thing

    @ W2M:
Could I use your Titan-Naam Fighter-Drone, Carrier and RCollector as Taiidan ships in my mod? It's far from done, there is a big chance that it will die before release but in case of miracle - I'm asking for your permission.

I downloaded that but like Moleman said it's a developer release, there's no campaign and apart from the main menu and being able to play the Titan-Naam in player vs cpu I can't see any major differences to vanilla HW2. It said on the SoT forums that the release was meant to have been a demo, I thought maybe the first couple of campaign missions would be available or something. I don't want to sound like an arsehole or anything the work done so far has been great but the above release has only a few new ships added most of which can't really be played against the vanilla stuff still left in the game.

tbh I dont think the modding team counted on moleman going back to college and whisper losing all his stuff when he upgraded his computer. Seeing as these are the 2 main contributors to the mod I can see why this mod is progressing a lot slower than usuall.
