    Im actualy at a trade school at the moment and computer networking here is extremely tight and almost everything transfered is questioned and punishable, i can only mod on the weekends however during ym xmas break i will be picking up alot of the slack from my end but for right nwo a good chunk of the work has been Whisper2me and I

    Just letting you all know, that I do believe this is it for SoT.

    We are done, I have taken interest in other things besides HW 2/Modding. I cant help but feel that the HW2 community is thinning out. Less and less people visiting the forum, less and less new members, or new content. However, if HW 3 ever comes along, i'll jump back on the modding wagon, Until then I'm going to work on other projects.

    I will still come by on the forum, post, help etc. If anybody needs anything from the mod just ask, if you need help etc.. just msg me.

    Concerning my creations, they are available for use as long as you contact me before you release them in your mod.

    I will see if moleman has time to separate all the ships, so that they can be individually downloaded.

    Whisper, I was curious if any of the models you made earlier in this thread are available specifically things like the deep space mining station, the gun turret platforms, transport frigate - or any of the other ships based of HW concepts.

    Hey, pretty much anything you saw so far Is being released. You may feel free to use it chris, hopefully you can put it to good use. I have lost some of the work when my pc was reformatted However, any requests that you may have for me to model/texture I will do so since I did tell you long ago that I will give them to you. Time to honor that promise

    Also, the last release of SoT, has the Titan mothership in it as well, just isn't scripted in the starting fleet, there is also the Hiigaran dreadnought in there too.

    Now when you are releasing the source of all the models/objects, are you going to make a final release, or are you going to just hand us the models? because with what you have now i could probably make a final package, i would just make it releasable. in a .BIG format is all or .SOT format. you know Sand of Time format. its completely up to you, or are you going to release a playable version and the models?

    So in the spur of the moment, I started modeling again. Been going on a crazy modeling spree.

    Started working on the Taiidan. I have decided to make their race a little different then the rest. The Taiidan will have a mobile refinery, which converts RU's into CP's (Construction points). Their capital ships will also utilize a new concept that has been running in mu head. All cap ships will be powered by "cores". You can make a cap ship, but until you transfer a core into it, it is useless. Basically a gun turret. All cap ships will have a moving part that separates to dock the Core.

    For this mod to stay alive, I cant do this all by myself. IF you want this mod to live, just apply. I need an animator and a hodder/scripter. In the vary least, I need a guide on how to make animations if nobody can help me do them. I have looked over the net, cant find a good one.

    What's the difference between RU's and CP's? Is there different value or even diferent use?

    You say gun turret, so capital ships without cores do fire and defend themselfs or are completely inactive?
    Will there be any other use for the cores? (for example eject the core before ship destruction so the core can be reused.)

    I think that the core docking animation shouldn't be hard. It's practicaly almost the same principle as Pride of Hiigara side door, except instead of capital ship family it will be for new core family, you could probably use the same madstate with just slight change and the animation itself is pretty simple.

    BTW no one wants to see this mod dead.

    Thanks for the positive feedback.

    Perhaps I should have explained the idea of cores more.

    Your Collectors can hold almost double the RU's in their storage. They take the RU's to drop off points. (refineries) Their RU's can be used to make fighters/corvettes/frigates.

    You can changed 2RU into 1CP. However, Taiidan capital ships cost lest CP then other races.

    The cores only give propulsion to ships. If a ship is without a core, then the ship can only use weapons, nothing else. Cores provide shields/propulsion. When a ship is destroyed, the core is left behind. If the other team steals your core, they can dispose of it for a hefty amount of RU's.

    Its in your best interest not to lose cores as they take long to build,

    I also started on the carrier concept. Its meant to have some offensive weapons. Inspired by the Titan-Naam Carrier I made from Talros' Concept drawings.

    I can hod if you want, however I don't have as much free time as I would like too (I'm already working for 2 HW2 mods and 1 Freespace mod ).

    PM me if you want. As long as I have UVmapped meshes and a global idea of where the hardpoints and dockpaths are supposed to be, this shouldn't take a long time.

    What are those hi-poly circles and what are those 4 things on the carrier front bottom part and the 3 cilinders on a front top of the cruiser.

    MathCoFreak and Djodar, I will PM you when I have the textures completed.

    @Pouk. The circles aren't too high poly, just added smoothing to those sections. The 4 front extensions on the carrier front bottom are Resourcers docking points. 3 Cylinders on the Heavy Cruiser are Shield Generators. The shields last 2minutes with a 4minute cool down. The subsystem can also be destroyed.

    hey Whisper2Me are you uvmapping the ships right now? im hopeing you have saperate obj files fore the meshes and one with all the meshes in the right place. i dont know if you can saperate the parts into different obj files when youre done with mapping. what modelling programm do you use?

    Glad you've hopped back aboard the HW2 modding train. I really like these new models, but I find I have to comment on the rather humorous fact that both new Taiidan ships have big targets on them.

    I in general don't like those circles on ships of some existing race, because it makes me feel like the author has just a lack of imagination. (Which definitely isn't you case, I didn't said that)
    But because this isn't an existing race, or it is, but it has changed and developed over the years, there isn't any reason not to keep it.
    You said you want to make them different and this makes them exactly so. Those new Taiidans are so beautiflul odd, that I thing it fits there.

    Hey, I'm interested in joining this project because I think it has a lot of potential.

    I personally write music as a hobby and have a decent amount of experience doing it. If you are wanting your own soundtrack to add to the originality of the game, I would enjoy attempting to write it and giving it a "homeworld" feel.

    Like any good mod, writing good music also takes time, so just inform me with your decision of whether you need music for the mod or not and I'll get started.

    Masada is located in between the 2 Vaygr Tribes of the 3 Clan’s Alliance & the 3 of Sulr. It is most convenient that this Mega station is actually on the Gate Network, which probably means that this was a relay station for Kaolo Gate. For 10000 years this station broke into smaller pieces of debris, until in the year AHL 155 the Hiigaran Kiva Pahlava 1st Task Force was investigating the network route to Kaolo Gate, then they came across this Station. The Daiamid council deemed this as a secret & several Shipyards & Naval Ships were sent to repair & secure this ancient Derelict. Masada became an important rallying point for the allied forces in the 2nd Beast War.

    The History of this Derelict goes back to the Civil war in between the Progenitor factions known as Abassid, a part of the Emperor’s Assembly of Lords that turned against him and lead a revolution to free Bethsidea Society. While the Bethsidea were led by their Emperor, who wished to see the powers of Imperialism come to the golden age, their flagship was known as the famous ‘Sajuuk’, named after one of the previous Emperors. Masada was one of the very important Relay Stations that were operated by the Abassid in the Civil War. Masada became a floating hulk after the Progenitors were forced out of the Umayyad galaxy due to a T_MAT incursion.

    Mountain is located in the Bethsidea Keeper Zone, it was one of the greatest Shipyards deployed by the Bethsidea, spanning from one end of a system to the other, that is why it got its name ‘Mountains’. After the fall of both the Bethsidea and Abassid this ancient derelict became one of the greatest Keeper hotspots in the Umayyad galaxy. The Combined Taiidan-Vaygr-Hiigaran fleet came across this derelict in AHL 235 after the 2nd Beast War started. Mountain is comprised of nearly 1000 docking and building facilities as well as a Inter-Galactic Hyperspace Drive.

    In the 3 Heithbyr Turanic regions they tell of a Stone Ship, one that looks similar to several Progenitor ships. When a Raider group came across this derelict Convoy they overestimated the Derelict. While they were un-armed dozens of Movers launched from the Progenitor Convoy and they ambushed them out of the blue. All of the ships were destroyed, but they were able to send out an emergency Probe sending out a warning signal to all other ships.

    In the past these ships were heavily armored, fast & very well defended. These convoys could hold 40 Fighters/Corvettes & an extra 20 probes. The ship was destroyed when it came across a Bethsidea battle group, and yet the crew was evacuated and the ship was kept intact to drift in space. A dozen of these Convoys were also found in the derelict of Masada Relay Station, floating around nearby several pieces of the station.

    May I note that the pictures above are not the one you want. You want the ones down below, this battlecruiser does look as if it's the normal Devourer class ship but the design has evolved from that.

Also, as stated in the other thread, we are looking for 'solid' and well 'developed' concepts, and those 2 links you provided are not that we are looking for. I would appreciate it if you stopped posting concepts for a while, as we do not need any at this time.

    Say Whisper, what sort of concepts are you looking for? like specific ships? I think Tek had some good ideas, especially the orientation of the corvette, I think he should make them larger and more clear though, like pick one of his minor sketches to blow up into a full concept, I do this sometimes.
