i have a poblem i run my company of heroes on steam
so what would the target be for it on steam because i get the error that it need THQ/COMPANY .....but my target is diff
I am getting the sherman blue box also, and i only changed the target box and the start box to where the COH folder is. Is there a fix yet for the sherman not appearing or just deal with it?

I have no idea what can cause this. Can you post a screenshot of your graphic settings (in a spoiler)? Also, if you had any previous version of BtB, remove it first and then install v1.12 BETA.
I haven't looked back through these pages, so apologies if this is a duplicate:
a) this is a great mod - I much prefer this to standard CoH
b) when I place a 17 pounder (playing as Brits, Canadian faction), it never fires until i manually re-face the gun. Even just a degree or so.
I have no idea why.

I couldn't see any mention earlier about it - the Pantherturm, buildable by the Logistic Pioneers (PE). I selected Scorched Earth tactics, and built all the HQ bases (incl Brute Force), built one of the LP units, but no mention of a Pantherturm - just an MG nest and the 25 lber howitzer gun. Is it available through an upgrade?

I've played around with the mod a bit now and I've only encountered one serious issue.
There are no bullet impact effects anymore. Except when a soldier or a tank gets hit.

I haven't noticed that, but I guess I haven't really looked for it - do you mean as in explosions, or things like ricochets etc?
What sort of detail settings are you using?

When the bullets hit the ground there is no dirt thrown up etc. Tracers are still present.
All settings are on max.

I agree with 2, 3, and 4, however number 5 I'm not so sure about.
Watch any sort of WW2 video/film and you'll see that Marders were invaluable. No, they're not meant to be used as a main battle tank, more of a heavy AT gun. A good example in CoH would be on the Vire River Valley map, you could have 2 or more guarding the bridges and ford, with other vehicles as backup.
If you were to use the Marder during an assault, it would need to be supported, which is where you heavier tanks come in, e.g. the Jagdpanther etc.
Re the scout car/armored car that's a very good idea - I'd imagine for the upgrades area you'd have the lockdown upgrade, or the cannon upgrade, and you can only have one (the other option is removed/disabled). Good suggestion :-)

Thanks for the feedback War Saber, I'll answer all points.
- Actually, the popcaps are fine, it would ruin balance if we'd lower them.
- The Munitions Halftrack already is renamed to a Supply Halftrack a few versions ago. It does not only recharges abilities, but also heals nearby infantry. The Vampire is already an awesome unit by itself. And there is a Leutnant loaded into it, which can order a small mortar barrage.
- This would ruin balance, as they are different tier units.
- Agreed.
- They already have the Panzer IV IST, Panzer IV and Panther.
- The SE Tactics already have 2 Howitzers, the 88mm Flak 36 Howitzer and the 150mm Hummel Self-Proppelled Artillery.
- This would über kill balance.
The Buildable M26 Pershing and Tiger I are unlimited (however very expensive). The Tigergruppen Assault Force (Tiger I + Stormtroopers) is limited to 2, and the Tiger 812 "Tiki" can only be called in once per battle.
Oh sorry I quickly posted without going through all the pages ,So some of my suggestions would appear insane balance killer { How can one go through 18 pages during one visit]
I wanted to ask whether Tortoise , Jadgtiger , M3 lee , and chaffee are included as planned????
About that pop cap issue i was asking about Light at halftrack which costs 6 pop in vCOH TOV {Same as Stuart which returns it to scrap and bolts in a few shots}![]()

Nothing is planned. We'll see what models will get released in the Ammo Box in the future.
You may add some additional vehicles for Reward From the Armoury or any other place}
Is this mod TOV 2.601 compatible???

Probably not. We are not planning to add much more units/vehicles anyway, since it will ruin balance. Only if we can find a really good spot for it we might add it. This is also the reason why most of the current released models are not in BtB.

I was asking about reward vehicles and units For base units as well as Doctrines..........This would give more strategical choices and allow gameplay to be much more fun as we would be able to choose which strategy to use..........Moreover gameplay should be doctrine specific{Which is actually very well done in your mod
...........But Improvements might not hurt

1 The panzer Elite Flag is gone , instead there is wehr's
2 The wehr's flag on the HQ , at the right side of the HQ
has a US flag overlapping the Nazi Flag
3 In The 'Tank Destroyer' Tactics , where are the so called tank destroyers????? The only one is ONE Jadgpanther???

Don't you think there should be any on field reward of resources, support , or reinforcement by Our Superior{general or something}
for good performance or during times of tragedy[like if someone gets detached from his supplies and is constantly struggling to defend......He really deserves some help......} as I think the game becomes difficult during such situations
Why not add some supply vehicles to those who don't have it......I think they should have upgrade choices to determine their function{For eg.- Supply truck[PE] can have uprade choices whether it should be able to heal and repair .....or function as Field casualty clearing.....or can buy Munitions and fuel with manpower...or can drop weapons......[Of course for every faction...and the choices should be balanced ....or the choices can be doctrine specific]}
Maybe[Maybe]... youcan allow the doctrine upgrades .....only upgrades to be purchased from HQ.....This might free any space on the Doc. tree [Only if you require........maybe its a bad idea]

Mod is awesome....the best one i have played......Thnx for pakwagen , Pnzr 4[PE], buildable pershing , Para droppable Fallshrimjagers and henchel bombing run....I really wanted these.....and for reward vehicles[If required for balance].....I know many mods using them like replacing calliope with 105mm Sherman howitzer....Thanks a lot for this mod ....the best one out on Net which doesn't harms fps......

Chill out man, I'm just a human aswell.
I'll lower the AT HT popcap, probably to 4.
Other things you mentioned are just fine, and the whirble will not be swapped by the ost, since it would:
I don't understand what you mean about the hotckiss.
- Remove uniqueness in armies
- Make balance issues
The mod seems to be on the right track. Two things I would recommend changing would be get rid of the team colors, and skin the flags.
He wants you to add a co-axial MG to the Hotchkiss, I believe.

Well it would have to be modelled on the Hotchkiss. And I don't think anybody will do that, and me neither.
Well no one has not noticed the US[like] Flag overlapping the wehr flag at the side of Wehr's HQ? Is it a bug......Or intentional[Ha Ha]......
Some Bugs:
M4 sherman of US has missing RGM error
Bullet impacts on ground are missing
In some matches , The opponent creates support teams in large quantity
Allied armor models .....well....don't look good.....maybe original skins were ...better

About the first two things, if you read the thread you will see I already answered them (multiple times).
About the American flag, I also already answered that 3 posts ago.
And the vehicle skins are the best available IMO, and there is zero chance that I will change them.
@War Saber abaut skins and flags,you simply can change that,if you dont like it you replace them in personal,

Just a quick update from me:
Website: Done - awaiting confirmation from Celestial before distributing the URL.
Launcher: Done (although there will of course be bugs/feature requests I'm sure!)
Installer: Done (combined into Launcher)
Video(s): e.g. trailer - this is planned although I haven't put much work into it yet.
The website has a blog/news section, download area, information pages (which will be updated in due course), a feedback area (for bugs/feature requests/general feedback), and a forum.
The launcher allows you to start CoH without any mods, with the Back to Basics Mod, launch our website, update the mod, and update the launcher. And the best thing about the launcher? You download one file, put it where you installed CoH, and that's it. You can make shortcuts etc if you want, but you only ever need that one file.
If you use the launcher and currently have the mod installed, can I please recommend that you remove the mod directory before you install it? I'll make this clear when you download it too.
The first time you use the launcher it'll make you install the mod, partly because that's the easiest way to do version checking, but also because we're releasing the mod with the next version (1.13 or 1.20, depends what way Celestial goes, when he gets back from his hols).
So, that's my little update for y'all :-)

I found the problem. The filenames path was to long and therefor it could not be extracted.Okay I downloaded the mod a few times and it keeps telling me the file is corrupted when I extract it.
So can you upload it somewhere else maybe on ModDB or re-upload the file somewhere.
So I extracted it to my desktop and that worked.
Just copied the mod to the right folder and I'll play it sometimes and give my opinion on it.
And you are making a website for this mod if I'm right. Well does it come with a forum where we can report bugs and add suggestions etc?

Okies because that will keep it cleaner to see what's been reported and what not.
Anyways played it and I quite like it but I found some strange things with my Shermans.
They got some blue box around them but they move and do everything correct.
I don't encounter this in the other mods I play.
And it says look into your warnings.log so I uploaded that to.
Here's a few pics:
As you can see it happens to all the Shermans.
And I found another bug (or it's something you intended) when I called in a M18 Hellcat the click icon to go to my Supply Yard takes me to my M18 first and then to the supply yard.

And the call-in icon for the T17 Staghound is blurry whilst the other icons are normal.

And could you remove the logo that you make appear on the screenshots? Because it could get annoying with reporting bugs if the logo is over the bug.
If I find more bugs I'll post them here unless you like me to post them somewhere else.
And a suggestion: Maybe you could add the Comet tank to the CW Royal Engineers Doctrine as a call-in unit. (unless it's already in the game)
