no, i have downloaded again, I saved it in my CoH folder, opened it and it opened CoH OF. have you changed the name on the title/loading page to Back to basics, or have you left it as Opposing Fronts?

The menu is changed. Anyway, you have to open the .rar file with either winrar or winzip, and then extract all files in the rar file to THQ\Company of Heroes.
i dont even know what they are. tbh, i will redownload the mod when it installs itself and opens properly the first time i download it.
Chimera does your shortcut properties say "C:\Program Files\THQ\Company of Heroes\RelicCoH.exe" -mod Improved -dev ?

You have to open the .rar file, and then put the containing files in THQ\Company of Heroes, to open a .rar file you need winzip or winrar.
Great mod! I played a couple of skirmish games last night, and enjoyed it a lot. Infantry units are fragile because weapons are much more effective than vCoH, this shifts emphasis from blobing back to tactics, moreover, it emphasizes the importance of cover.
Is there a readme file for this? I could not figure out how to use some abilities, like off map artillery.

when i play the wehrmacht in skirmish and call in or build an tiger the skin of the tiger is black the skin doesnt work some how. please help.
If you have version 1.09 it shoudnt be a problem, if you dont then dl 1.09, if you ahve already we really cant do anything.

I'll completely redo the first post soon, with only the best and jucy changes.
Some things I did:
Along with many many other things.
- Waffen SS Panther has a Commander, instead of the MG42 Gunner, and has Foliage.
- Wehrmacht Panther has no foliage anymore.
- Buffed Hetzer, M26 Pershing along with some other units.
- Nerfed some other units.
- Finaly fixed the 81mm Mortar Emplacement (The mortar barrage will now work).
- Added the Sd.Kfz. 250/9 as a reward unit for the Waffen SS Armored Car.
- Waffen SS Shocktroopers now have the Stormtroopers' voice.

Well as you might know by now, I am one of the people that hate pop caps and limits on units of any kind! That being said, I will of course continue to test and play with the newest update, but first impressions were very good. 3vs3 skirmish, WH vs US, and things were progressing fairly quiet, saw snipers early on mixed with Engineers, and after some early casualties with my pioneers, I countered with Snipers of my own, so far so good!, grabbed a cemetery complete with walls on all sides slapped in a MG bunker and left. grabbed a house inside a fairly large town, and HQ'ed that.... a couple more MG's and one pak 75mm nest, still only US Engineers and squads, with a couple armored cars attacking my 2 allies.
And then along comes hell-on-wheels, at least 4 Pershings at different spots on the map, they destroyed my mg's, crashed thru the cemetery wall and eliminated that mg from behind, and meanwhile Engineers and Airborne attacked my AT and blew that up, so all my defenses with out ever seeing an enemy were attacked by the one thing that could take them out and never fired at the ones they were put there for in the first place, Now either this is "karma" or Voodoo manipulations of the grossest kind, or bad luck. Now starting again, but never saw much of the Allies until the Pershings started, so kinda jumps right from Engineers to Pershings, I don't like that... is there no way to slow this game down and make the AI build things progressively. I honestly do not think I could build 4 Tigers in the same time, and I had a couple more points than they, so "should" have had more resources as well.... still early of course
@XAMOT: this mod if I remember correctly,remains as v.CoH,I mean the gameplay type is like v.CoH so no need to raise pop.cap or add more resource income...I don't have problems with gameplay and I'm happy as this mod give you the "classic" gameplay style![]()

yeah, I know that the Americans seems to love the M26 Pershing too much. I'll lower it's priority, or even remove it from the AI's build list. (same for the Wehrmacht Tiger I)
And let it build more M4 Shermans and so.

Celéstial; don't take them out yet unless absolutely necessary, as my next game went so much better, same map, changed the starting sides to 2vs2 one Brit and one US AI. 1 WH (me) and 1 PE, game was still going strong when I saved. There were Pershings, but saw some Shermans as well. Took out the first Pershing with Volks and 5 Panzerfaust shots, kept running around the buildings and popping out the other direction, meanwhile an engineer frantically tried his best to repair it!! Didn't work
I still prefer your ranges and weapons, MG's are sooooo much better.... Squads seem more fragile but then the weapons are better! The tanks actually seemed to be a little more destructable as well, again I loved this from the first I played it. I think all in all was a little bad luck the first game, maybe too many Americans and thats why too many Pershings... Funny I have not seen one British Tank yet.. well, there were lots of Honeys and Tetrachs... they were annoying but I know I can destroy them if I can catch the lil blighters! I really have a hard time keeping infantry squads alive, yet the few times I ambushed them, they died, most of the time I died especially in one on one fights. One American Rifle squad held up in this building, in the alley between that one and the next I had placed a MG Bunker. They of course started getting hit and yelled for assistance. So I sent in 3 Grenadier squads, with mg34's and Panzerschrecks, they all died!... sent in two pioneers with flamethrowers... they died too... shelled him (one guy left with a bar) with 88 artillery.... never hit a thing, so sent in a Stug42 and while that was hitting the house, it got pasted up the "hiney" my a passing Sherman... so I guess Rambo isn't as far fetched as some people think!! I left him alone after that wasn't worth it as the MG bunker died too.
The only weak link, so far that I see, is the need for more stronger fortifications and more ways for Engineers and Pioneers to destroy them. Dragons Teeth and Roadblocks should be standard to build, but the enemy should have to waste or use resources to blow them up, they should not be crushed so easily. Saw a mod once that even had the barb wire with the ability to tangle up the treads slowing or stopping the tanks and vehicles until they were freed or repaired by Eng/Pio's (Yes I guess it can happen, some tanks were so bound up with wire they slowed to a crawl and Stopped, sometimes turned in circles.. Was in a book I read about British tanks in Normandy and beyond.) I realize some of this is just me, I love some of the maps out there, but too many times the AI will drive a freakin tank over every tree and wall and fence in the game with a perfectly good road right beside it... so I put tank traps along the wall to protect them, for all the good it does. Thi smight mena stronger bunkers too, maybe a little more Mortar in the Concrete or a little less sand.

lefH18 is under UV wrapping by Halftrack, but not finished, haven't got a word from him lately (not even on xfire or anything).

anyone actually tried playing with people instead of comps, may be me but i have been trying to host a game, so my son & self could stomp opposing comps, and all we get is incompatible version or unable to connect to game. im pretty sure its the game not us as at one point ive actually copied all b.o.t.h files from my hard drive to his via usb pen and the result is still unable to connect or incompatible version, no matter which of us hosts the game, even a lan has the same results. gw btw from what ive seen ingame sofar its impressive.

yes m8 did that after installing the files via the installer, during host gane it did the mentioned unable to connect and uncompatible version ect. thats when i deleted the lot off his machine and copied it all off mine onto his.
paths on both machine are exactly the same as on your shortcut , the modules are in the main coh folder and the improved folder is in the main coh folder so at the moment its got me baffled.

Make sure you also update the modules, not only the modfolder. Since in v1.10 I edited the modules.

celestial, figured out why beefy and me couldent play hedges, believe it or not since this last patch, if we have a custom art sga running ,when we try playing a mod it doest allow us to connect, giving the diffrent version of the game excuse ect . with default art sga it works fine. daft really because it doesnt effect normal online play at all having a custom ww2art.sga.

I played this mod and I really liked it. I only have a few suggestions/bug reports.
1- Bottom of observation posts are blue tinted for some reason.
2- Population cap increased just a little? (Not too big of a deal.)
3- Make tanks a little bit more infantry effective. [A ranger squad can easily take out a panther or two, at least in my experiences, which brings me to my next point.]
4- AI on Americans spam nothing but Pershings and Rangers.
greetings Celéstial, how are things on the eastern front,...? well at least more eastern then where I am. Anyway, I wanted to "attempt" a little project. I want to take an existing mod, and update or improve the weapon data tables or what have you! This would be for personal use, I want to take the "Ewiger Krieg" mod which I have already combined with the Cheat mod. The problem is they still both use vanilla CoH. And once I used your mod, I can't play with out your mg's. I really get tired of the AI crawling slowly toward your mg's and finally blowing them up, same with the flamethrower, take some weak assed pioneers that flame non stop and then get owned by US engineers with smg's, is stupid and unreal.. I figure if I can just improve the weapons then the game play will be better! Can this be done? remember, I am not a newbie with modding, but most certainly never attempted it with CoH always figured it was too user unfriendly

You can always edit the files, as long as you keep it for yourself and do not release it public.
Sorry mate, maybe it is me, but did I misunderstand you? Lets pretend for a minute that even "IF" I could, edit my own stats, then they would be Mine! And I could release what ever I did. BUT!, I can't do this and it would be a long time planning and getting familiar with this game and modding to even contemplate this! Not likely ever, ever gonna happen. I was hoping I could somehow use your weapon data and copy it over into another mod or vanilla game, Is that possible? As for then sharing it to the public, I wouldn't for starters,(cause I don't operate like that, I don't even play online, pretty much a skirmish guy) and secondly putting this into another mod and then releasing it with your data would be "double dipping" getting credit for your weapons and someone else's mod... the community would never ever let me download or look at another forum for decades
