test your reaction time - graph to follow.

    1) Go here and run the test ONCE.
    http://www.mathsisfun.com/games/reaction-time.html

    2) Post in this thread your age from the following categories, and your reaction-time score. PLEASE BE SCRUPULOUSLY HONEST.

    3) New submissions will be "frozen" as of Monday, October 27, at 12 noon GMT, and I'll graph the result. Then we get to discuss what this means for old-fart gamers like me.

(we did something similar a while ago, but this is a fun little experiment, so hope you don't mind the repeat)

I had to run it twice, sorry. But I was distracted and got a 2 second score on one of them.
The big one was about the same both times though. :/

    0.284, 17-18 category. Sloppy.

However, when I took it a second time and was paying attention, I got 0.208. I'm really not sure which one is more accurate.

    Average: 0.212
    Lowest: 0.189
    Highest: 0.24.

The last and big one was the 3rd best. Best was the 3rd with 0.189 where i was concentrating and staring at the screen without blinking. increased to 0.202 and 0.209 for the 2nd last and last ones. Worst was the 2nd dot where i wasn't paying too much attention with 0.24.

Hehe, seems like my reaction time is quite good compared to the rest of you relicdolts. That does make me happy, and i haven't been playing any twitchy games recently nor had anything stimulating that give you wings, at least not in the past 1.5 weeks. spending most of my leisure time playing slower-paced games and watching stuff.

The big dot was my slowest one as well, it was the split second of confusion over why it was doing something different.

I scored .21 three times. Pretty consistent I guess.

Big dot was no different because I was using my startle reflex for all of them :P

Actually, all I was doing was waiting for ANYTHING on the screen to change. This would be a much more interesting test if there was other stuff going on and you had to focus on the dot.

0.263, age 26-28. Each time got better because after no 2 it was startle effect all the way. You need some time to get the adrenaline going. Had i taken it again right after i would prolly have been closer to 0.2.

If anything it would be intersting to post the startle effect as well and graph it. Who knows, maybe the effect of age shows more or less on the startle dot.

You ought to de the test twice and only count the second one. You also should make sure that you're not hopped up on caffeine or somesuch while you take it. When you take it will also have an effect. It should be done in the middle of the day after a good night's sleep, and not right after intense physical or mental exertion.

    Curse your methodology!

A young clerk thought that Curzon's memorandum was balls. But he was afraid to say so directly, so he wrote faintly in the margin, "Round Objects". Lord Curzon replied in a note: "Who is Mr. Round, and why does he object?"
