Im having a invalid selection when i try to find my HW2 game manually, b/c it wont find it in the first place even tho i reinstalled it and still hasnt found it .. any suggestions.

Hey there. I started playing HW online back when WON was still up last summer. I haven't played online in quite a while, although I did do a bit of LAN with a friend a few weeks ago.

But for now, I have to go. My Jr./Sr. class is headed to Washington DC for a week. *w00t!*

EDIT: I tried to use Firefox to get to the GR forums, but FF says that the GR forums need an application to open. So I clicked 'Game Ranger' on the app choices list, and it opened with IE. I HATE IE. How can I open it with FF?

I think my version died. It times out while trying to log in and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get it to shut down.

It's not like I was using it, but still it's pissing me off just a bit.

This may sound silly but have you installed the 1.05 patch?
You had to install it when playing WON and if you have uninstalled game then you probably may have to reinstall to play on Game Ranger

That's what it was apparently doing, and timing out/crashing if I had anything (My Pictures/Documents/anything) running at the same time it was trying to update.

It works now, but I just don't feel like playing Homeworld. I'd rather talk about it here on the forum but aside from technical issues all the plot discussion has died, sadly.

Is it not time to arrange a meet-up for Homeworld's anniversary?

It'll have to be at the weekend, that way we don't have work or school or anything else to do. And it'll have to be a time accessible to everyone, not just Americans or just Europeans.

EDIT: I just got a Gameranger account, and was really surprised at how many AOE2 games are flying round - I mean, that game's almost as old as Homeworld!

Just wanted to say thankyou to Scott. Game ranger is a great service and I had some brilliant games with fellow homeworlders. My tag is Booker Emperial and I can play during weekdays due to unemployment.

I just had some games with some new people recently
the most recent player is rheinhold who found us on gameranger via this thread so he told us.
So this thread is invaluable in recruiting new players to Homeworld. If you want to play, join a game if you are new or if you dont see a game, host one as one of our regulars will find you, especially on the weekends

@Everyone : Gameranger is definatly the place you should visit. Even if you are beginners at multiplayer, I or the other members can help you. Most of us are on every day, and as we are from all around the world, you will surely find a fix player to train with. 3v3 games aren't too rare aswell. I can only recommend joining.
