Day One.
We've just arrived on this blasted wasteland. Three whole companies of us, and quickly the command staff set up base camp.
Two of the fucking companies they sent us are conscripts, how do they expect us to fight alongside those whelps? Some of them look as young as fourteen.
The Commissariat are busy enforcing discipline amongst us, it seems that they are more the enemy then those filthy greenskins over the mountainside. I haven't even seen one yet. Sergeant Viacheslav said he did on recon, quite frankly with the amount of alcohol he drinks, he probably thinks he's seen the damn Saint Macharius.
To be fair, the artillery does give the impression that there is a war, as it keeps me awake every fucking night.
Us Valhallans, we’re a hardy stock. We were raised on a planet of eternal cold, so yeah, we’re pretty tough. Anyway, recently an Ork force has attacked a sector, and we were assigned to defend it.
Basic orders; set up base, and arty positions. Of course, by the time we’d set up emplacements, the other teams would have already done theirs and begun firing. There was none of this ‘organisation’ that other regiments have, we literally deployed, and fired. Non stop. We didn’t even know what we were firing at, we were just given coordinates by high command, and told to fire. It was an administrative nightmare. Originally, the Administurum would keep tally of how many shells we’d fire, and how much munitions we had used. Bullshit.
About two days into the conflict and the big guns are firing. Base command has set up a permanent base in the northern mountains, where they’ve deployed several massive arty emplaces. These weapons are massive, mounted on rails. The noise they make is...massive. And deafening.

Just in case you guys don't know how I advertise my solo (well not that solo) projects, this is a mod. Thanks!
I thought I'd add a creative spin to this project, although I agree my first post didn't give enough away, and I fear not enough of you have guessed it already.
This mod aims to add a new regiment of the Imperial Guard to the fray; the Valhallans.
