    If you say the mod is 2.6 Compatible... it works right? I thought the current release only works with the previous version of COH.

    well its kinda confusing except for the 1000th time u have said it, but the title used say 2.600 compatible thus making ppl who dont know dl beta 2 and get dissapointed etc just thought i would toss in my input

    burton, im installing ToV as we speak just let me know what ya want done and i'll try to do it. not too good when it comes to vehicle skinning and models (having some problems with the damn alpha) but if you want any abilities, or icons etc made up, lemme know.

    (for sketch-up ) so if you see sometething write it down and post it and then when i get pro we get a nice collection of tank and/or gun

    Can some1 hlep me out? SOme time ago I found a reply from some1 in here that had about 10 or more links to tutorials and stuff and one of the link had a tutorial page and the first thing on the page was a Japanese Zero Fighter how to model. I've tried to search trou the 24 pages, but no luck :/ if any1 will see it here pls repost that post with links and hows the mod going?

    I know burton i just searched that many models so we would actually have something to choose out i mean we would probably search 5-10 tank thats it maybe 2 helicopters ( maybe not even ) and a fichter jet maybe get the civllian vehicles and adjust them and use 3 of them and a replacement for the willy i just dont want that our models are being limited because only u are the good moddler in the zombie mod team it was also meant to take some heat of ure back - and i just wanted to impress everyone with what i could find on the net lol

    vehicle skinning fixed (alpha threshold problems thanks to gimp, fixed thanks to psycho :P) what do ya want me to do, PM me.

    Edit: had an idea in regards to vehicles and what not, possibly have a call in for a "diesel mechanic" or something similar, that can repair wrecked vehicles about the map rather than being able to call in overpowered vehicles, just be limited based on the map

    Nice idea Uccido, at present we have it on maps that have these vehicles available on them, that you first need to get some fuel from a hostile area to add to the drama, before returning with it. Other ideas were trying to implement also is garage stations(map specific again) and possibly fuel rewards(dropped items) on certain ideas we have and that also have been suggested in forum. But the idea is useful in other areas similar we could use it for or even a combination of both, thnx. ZMod wont be to heavy on the vehicles anyway, but the civilian ones are handy occassionally to help on mission based objectives or short trips around town, just dont end up in the wrong neighbourhood

    haha. hmmm. give vehicles suppression that goes up as they move, so after so much use they "overheat" and are effectively pinned til it cools, or just have random engine damage or something, so they require constant maintenance

    hmm i think the supression idea isnt that bad but must be worked further out, i mean a tank wouldent overheat as much as a car and they almost dont overheat and how about standing still if they stand still they arte still gona be suprresed.

    and how about troop transporting i mean its impossible to outrun a zombie horde so you'll need a transport.

    i was thinking about this a some time ago is it possible to let a tank slowdown when it moves with infantry and stuff so it could provide cover like the captain abillity to follow his units only than that the tank comes closer.

    and what will be our primary weapon against zombie we need this so we can divide every tank every small arm into a section and determin how much it would actually gona cost

    it would also be cool to get units after you have completed the campaign like in TOV
    so youd probably get a new modified tank or something or a New base building anyway it will encourage people to play the campaign and it would also be easyer to replace stuff like you can switch a Abrams with a modified Russian T34 or something just grabbing something out of the air

    and how about some new base building i mean it would be cool to have a tank drive out of a building that is made out of old tank part and some tant pecies and maybe some auto-defense parts while survivors get out of a very big tent

    But in a realistic zombie apocalypse (i cant believe im saying realistic and zombie apocalypse in the same sentence) situation, survivors wouldnt have access to APC's let alone tanks or auto defenses. that's just rediculous. thats like saying i could go out with 5 friends and get an abrams!

    burton, i was thinkin ya have an intro to each scenario, which tells the player what they need to do, and in said intro it has something like "the national guard company that was coming to rescue you got ambushed by zombies, etc, etc" and a secondary objective to get their vehicles up and running (maybe not that much detail).

    i myself have access to some interesting pieces of weaponry just outside my hometown, part of living near to a weapons range i suppose, and in the event of something like a "zombie apocalypse" they arent gonna pack up and store everything they have, its gonna be a matter of grab your shit and get moving. just how the military works (theres always someone left behind to clean up the shit :P)

    Well, it isnt that redicoulus its just in wich time period early-mid-late ure currently talking about the late period where zombies have infected everything but still zombies dont have guns so tanks you find in a base will be tottaly unharmed - except when zombies go bashin un them but since the zombie are in many numbers you need something to defend against them not only survivors like you said there will be smart and heavy etc could you imagene stainding there with and army of men while 1000.000 zombies are running to you well than you wished you had a tank or at least a gatling gun

    I may have a solution to fill the Hunger for those that wish for these certain vehicles, or ideas. We could have/do a 1 off map containing these and other things. This would need confirmation amongst other Team members and most certainly forum debate will be crucial to that final decision. But if it where to go ahead, this is how i'd like to see and have it setup. I would keep it entirely seperate as not to derail the main gameplay and mod, and segregate the map into the Operations: Stonewall, even if the map doesnt have that style gameplay(code) and requires its own, that way it would feel seperate and it would also feel acceptable to have those vehicles in that gametype, and by doing so pleasing everyone enough but with some compromise. So as I stated, I'm neutral, just an idea at present, but thought as this debate constantly comes up, how it could be overcome. I'm sure the Team will update soon on their personal thoughts to this, as so will forum debate, thnx

    Civillians wouldnt be able to get a tank running, end of story.

    Its not like Battlefield 2 where you can just jump into the vehicle and begin pwning.

    I do like some of the ideas, but some are a little over-the-top.

    nifty, im a civi, and i know how to operate a tank... and fyi, all of australia's tanks, vehicles etc are built by civi companies. and im pretty sure its the same company that builds alot of yank military equip aswell.

    Angelic whilst i did say that they may be able to drive em but they would certainly not be able to use the main tank guns. Im in the ADF (Australian Defence Forces) and whilst im in the infantry which is what the footsoldiers would be in the game i.e. the marines would not recieve training in armoured warfare apart from training with tanks. Unless thay have been assinged to the tank corps or armoured units.Also by that logic saying anyone can dive a tank/APC you are technically saying anyone can fly a F/A-18 Hornet and effectively use its weapons systems.

    @ Uccido- Thats not exactly true all of australias's tanks are built by other countries for example the MKII Leopard tank is a german made tank. Also lots of other aussie equipment like the F88 Steyr and F89 Minimi are Austrian and American Respectively.

    the last gen of APC were designed to be driveable by ANYONE who can drive a car, not sure about strykers and abrams (havent been in one lately). but the idea behind all their designs is in the event that its needed, someone who has had basic training (doctors, nurses, file clerks, everyone gets the same basic training, good old ADF) can fill that role, not quite as efficiently, but they can still do it.

    @lost squad: designed overseas but manufactured here in Aus.

    with the exception of using the latest i.e. leopard, abrams, stryker weapons systems they can be complicated at best so there fore they need more training to use them and because they are more and more computerised so you need the expertise to use the comps and to tell the comps which shells to load etc. etc.

    they arent that mechanised :P but it does require basic armament knowledge which your average civi would have no clue about. difference between sabot, HE, phosphorous, shaped rounds, dummies, etc, how to load the gun, targetting, fixing jams (the safe way lmao, hammer = bad)... i can go on. it requires a fair bit of knowledge, but all you need is 1 competent soldier to instruct a few halfwits and you have yourself an operating crew

    that is all based on the fact that soldier has dne a course a in all those like armaments etc. etc. like the shell types are easy but then theres the technical data. etc. etc. no 1 grunt is gnna have the experience to maintain a tank and u not likely to find a tank crewman that knows evrything bout a tank. each person has their own unique skills like FCO (Fire Control Officer) or the Gunner/Realoader etc. etc.

    Actually with regards to the abilities and skills on tank driving and such, it depends on what country you are emulating. In the US each soldier is only taught one job, While in other countries they are taught the basics of everything.
