I dont really like the sound of zombies with guns, I thought we were just going do the normal zombies.
For 3 doctrines I think it was going to be:
28 Days/Weeks Later infected: Fast, vicious, but weak.
WWZ: Slow, numerous and sturdy.
Night of the Living Dead: Extremely numerous, sort of in between infected and WWZ zombies, however can be frightened by fire.
And Zombies with guns and driving rusted cars... :S

IF we are talking about stages i got some if youd be so kind to read these..
Police stage:Strange murders in the suberbs basic police units now buildable.
Swat stage:Odd noises from the sewers and woods worry residents SWAT deployed to find the cause.
Military stage:A full blown infection is upon us,The US military is deployed to stop riots (Doctorine stages of course)
Zombie stages,
Minor infection:Its the begining start the infection.
Minor outbreak:Sucess!We have infected the suberb.
Major outbreak:The city belongs to us!
...I like Tutts ideas better then my ownbut since the doctrines will be the deciding factor in whether you use police or army units, I dont think it will work....but the zombie phases, what will their effect be exactly?
Also, Idea: Zombie Infection Hole: It works like a medic station from vanilla, but the medic zombies drag survivor bodies and infect them, collect enough enemy bodies and you'll be granted a zombie horde(squad)

Like the infection hole idea, and zombie phases.
For phases it will be like:
1) Infection Stage: Available units - Slow dumb zombies, fast dumb zombies - 200 MP
2) Outbreak Stage: Available units - Doctrine specific zombies, plus those above - 300 MP
3) Epidemic Stage: All units available, zombie nest available (triage center in essence) - 400 MP

Epidemic Stage: Spawn Pits buildable, these are small pits that work like forward HQs.

what about an upgrade for your zombies that reduces their speed but lets them trow rocks which are accurate low damage medium fire rate small range weapons
or you could make this a special zombie unit that can be upgraded into the rockthrower or a super fast assault zombie
i really think that the parasite or virus that made the zombies would be able to create enough intelligence to throw rocks even if only in 10-20% of the zombies
that might be something the smart zombies can do

Hi Burton, I was wondering if you have a team or anyone else helping you on this project, and, or are you looking for ppl with knowledge in certain areas of mod/map making and Scar capabilities?
yes SCAR would be a HUGE help. Its just me right now, and I have no scar experience.
For SCAR, i just need a few things tbh. The game mode that failed epically and a few maps. Maybe a little later a single player campaign, but that wont be until the first release is successful.
Well if your interested, I can mod/make decent maps(with all the trimmings) plus have a good understanding of Scar and its capapbilities(as you know yourself theres always more to learn in every field, noone knows it all). I have already made scar based mission maps, plus also a Scar game mode I am constantly upgrading for the purpose of balance and upgrades for any map. So if your interested, as I am, maybe give me some insight of what you want and I can do it and send it and see if its up to your likening and maybe get this baby up and running.
EDIT: Oh, and by the way, it will always be your child, if I do get a chance to help, I could be classed maybe as a relative or close family friend...hehe..the reason I stated this is I know some ppl are worried about outside influence coming into there games and conflicts....where'as for me, I'm sitting at home making all this cool stuff for knowone really to enjoy except myself and a few close friends, and I know my work is up to the standard I see on these forums, and so would like to share it for an exciting mod or project and yours does.

I just had an idea for the building issue..Well a setup i mean..
Remove the explosive effects and replace it with the name:Zombie pit
Descritpion:This pit will be dug in the house and replaced with thin boards when a human steps over it it will cave in.
Just remove the explosives and explotion and add a scream say..a HL2 scream.
House destruction:While the zombies attack it a small zombie will shoot a infective puss inside a window and it will spread like fire.
Map ideas:Keep lyon,route n13 (or is it 18?),The sheldt as say a port map.
nope that is waaaaaaaaaay to smart for zombies. however an alternative could be something to do with a zombie having been locked in the basement back when other humans were in the house...though thats more like a random event.

Zombies throwing rocks.... what damage is that going to do to a soldier wearing body armour and a steel helmet? And thats too smart for zombies anyway...
Spitting puss... maybe the zombies are similar to the infected from 28 days later in which they automatically spew up infected blood or whatever? So when they go near a house maybe they spit up into the house and take it over or expell the survivors..
Damn, we need some way of getting survivors out of houses without making the zombies looking too smart <.<

hmmm well i forget have we already said its impossible to have them rush the house?
of hell ive got it!!! can we make the houses act like capturable points? if we can then use the mod that makes it so points are captured by having units in their area then set the limit so that if x number of zombies are in the area, then the house is theirs maybe we can work from something along those lines.
idea for house clearing: chemical/gas. The fat explosive zombies can choose between two explosions, the big sticky anti tank explosion, or the house clearing gas explosion, which hadly damages buildings. The gas spread into a somewhat large area, but not significantly, only enough so that if you get close enough to the building and detonate, the gas will reach just enough to the building to start slowly killing the people within and any one else trapped in the area.

so how do we deal with tanks exactly?....oh wait I get it, we DONT since they always seem to be the answer in video games and movies....OR, mine-like object called "Spider Holes" that are like monster tentacles and what not that with lash out at anything that comes on top of it, but disappears after doing so.

these arent soldiers they are people with no armor and the national gaurdsmen are the only soldiers but i think zombies are strong enough to throw a rock to kill someone and it dosent have to be first hit

Its not like zombies have superb agility, and because zombies just sort of walk around in a clumsy manner very slowly.. I couldnt imagine a zombie slowly walking to a survivor, and then suddenly in 2 seconds flat BOOM Headshotting a survivor with a ROCK
National Guard arent the only soldiers.. for the 3 doctrines its Police, National Guard and Hunters.
Well... riot police and swat would definetly have Armour and Helmets, National Guard units would all be issued helmets as the zombie outbreak area would be defined as a combat zone (and by law everyone has to wear helmets, Iv been in the Army so I know more or less).
I would imagine Hunters having helmets covered in camoflage..
I do see your point Churchill but zombies throwing rocks just doesnt seem like it would work.
The only way I see zombies taking out buildings would be a boomer, but it should be hardcapped at 2 or 3, I hate introducing a different type of zombie but its better than rock throwing zombies, spitting zombies, and zombies that are smart in general >.>

These are all good ideas though, nothing is insignificant, and whatever happens the mod will be great, even if zombies get replaced by pink elephants that shoot tiger tanks :O

Yeah i like the idea of the "zombie in the cellar" booby trap. That will be in the game, i can promise that.
i guess boomers could be explained by biology: after death gasses build up inside the body cavity from decomposition, and i guess in the right scenario it could explode in a destructive manner.
so 2 or 3 boomers per game to counter buildings plus zombie in the cellar?
I think that would work, and would be a good fallback option if survivors happen to kill the boomers before they close the distance... only to be surprised by an occupant who was having a cigarette in the cellar![]()
couldn't you make an ability for the zombies? call it Tear the house down" which enables them to destroy any house they choose and have a cooldown timer on it?
....what about....DOG zombies, I know you said no new zombies but, EVERY zombie movie and game has dog zombies

I don't have 3ds max 7 or 8 (only program supported by the model exporter), and last time I checked its not free.
Not all Zombie films have zombie dogs, Dawn of the Dead doesnt, 28 days later doesnt, World War Z doesnt
@kureave: Thats not a bad idea, but 12 squads of zombies would be able to tear down 12 buildings instantly, lol
What about changing the boomer into a really strong horde of zombies that have that ability? Obviously this 'Heavy' Squad would still be hardcapped.
