    yeah,SHADOW is right...it has been a while since I saw a KT,though they can also send Jagdpanthers wich can be a pain in the @$$...also the Allies can build 2 or 3 Pershings before sending them to battle,as well as the Axis can do it with the Tiger...is amazing...finally I can fight against these tanks...do you know what I amost never see...the Marder III or Hetzer....Hetzer more but still...it would be nice if the AI could have variety.

    Thanks for the info Shadow. I was hoping one of you experts would tell me the heavies became more common on harder levels. Something to look forward to for me..

    With Christmas looming and the news of no further BK updates this year, I thought I could at least offer something small to the community with another BK map pack. I demand some realism and I really appreciate a map which shows great attention to detail. Too much map symmetry is also a pet hate of mine. All these maps meet these criteria. I offer them here in the hope others might also appreciate them. I have had at least 3 or 4 skirmish games on each of these, so rest assured the AI puts up a very good fight.

    2p Groesbeek Heights - A fight for a gentle ruined valley in Operation Market Garden.
    4p Ahlden - A long Norman map
    4p Beaumont - another long Normandy map.
    4p Hauffalize Road - A long snowy map from the Battle of the Bulge/Wacht am Rhein campaign.
    4p Laval - a long Normandy map with a rail line and river in the middle. AI plays very agressively!

    @Fritz_Fraghof: Yeah, I'd also love to see more KTs and also more variety in general for the AI. A while ago when sweeten fixed the AI (I beleive it was around that time) the AI also built Marder III's and Hetzer's, but with the screwed-up AI right now (thanks v2.601!) we are arleady happy they msotly tech-up to T4 again. Hopefully sweeten can help us fixing the AI again after the holidays so the AI get's back to old style again. But I'm pretty sure it can be done, at least I'm an optimist on that.

    Thx for the map links BTW, Hauffalize Road is indeed a nice map. I don't know the others you posted yet, but I'll check them out for sure when I get back home again. I need a lot of new maps from time to time.

    i found out that the AI is teching to T4 in 60% of the games i played, when set to expert, whereas the AI won't tech to even T2 when set to hard. talking WH. don't know why and how, only my observations.
    looking forward to the next patch, which hopefully will fix that AI bug. love that mod!

    It seems that a lot of the BKmod maps crash most of the time or have little faults with them IE 6p Lyon the south middle base has sandbags blocking the HQ exit not allowing engineers to leave.

    Hey i have an idea for the mod... how bout you put a little more effort with infantrie...
    what i mean is, Mixed weapons (c'mon not every riflemen is going to have a garand and not every volks will have a k98) and mixed uniforms.

    Just an idea...

    well most had garands tbh, that was the tactics the US army used, lots of semi automatic rifles and less light machine guns.

    Only the squad leader and maybe his XO would have a carbine or SMG. and there would probably be a BAR gunner (maybe two by very late war) Or a M1919 if it is a ranger or Airborne squad. But other than that pretty much every guy had a garand.

    In Wehr were not much different, except they used a lot more Light and heavy machine guns. Again it was useally the CO and XO who has SMG's and the rest with the mauser <-- how ever you spell it.

    The problem with mixed weapons (short and long range) is one that has always been a bugger for a few folks: the soldiers with Rifles stand in cover while the ones with the Sub-Machine guns try to rush into combat range and then get shot by the enemy (exampel: PE Sturmpioniers with Flamethrower --> The Flamers and StG 44 guys try to get into combat range and then get killed all the time). I fear there is no good solution to this. Also personally I prefer specialized squads over mixed weapons, because then you can exactly use a specific tactic for a squad, f.e. a squad with Rifles can stay far away from the enemy while your SMG squad flanks the enemy and get's into close combat. With mixed squads they'd be more versatile in theory, but also not very good in either long range or short range fighting (compared to a squad with only long range or short range weapons).

    The current system allows you to upgrade a squad with different weapons, if you want you can give your US Rifles a BAR and some SMGs or your PE Sturmgrenadiers the G43 and the StG44 upgrade. So you already have the choice to create mixed squads yourself. But we didn't want every unit to have that much choices (balancing reasons).

    On the subject of mixed weapons in a squad - is it possible to show on a squad (in main window or on unit panel) all upgraded weapons equipped in that squad? Now it shows first upgraded weapon (e.g. SAS's bazooka), but the second or even third one (another bazooka and bren) is visible only in hands of a soldier carrying it. It would help a lot if I knew if ranger squad has one or two bazookas, if grenadier squad has a schreck apart from mg42 or dont have it. I know that I can see which upgrades are possible to buy and which are not (thus are already upgraded) but thats not intuitive nor clear.

    I don't know what game your playing mate , my light tanks struggle to pierce pumas let alone heavy tanks, and the stuart struggles to kill motorbikes for gods sake. Also the piats are understandable as the weakest armour is on the top, i find them to be inaccurate if the tank is moving though. I dont think you should throw 100% around, my first 2 hits usaully damage the engine, not destroy it in one hit. The brits are well balanced if you take out the Tetrach as a default tank.

    Hey Shadow i know you guys are on hols, but for future releases can
    you give the brit commandos from the Support truck 4 Rifles and 2 stens, or something like that, and keep the call in commandos to the commando doctrine, cos at the moment i dont use the commando doctrine at all because the air strikes are expensive and i already get commandos as default.

    The reason i would like diffeent weapons is so its feels like your actually getting a better form of commando by choosing there specific doctrine. I think making it more like the Paratrooper doctrine of the Americans would be cool, have a commando spotter group paradrop in, then they can call in specific gliders and support. Also last thing, can the Tetrach be put back in a glider, commandos need cool vehicles like that, and makes choosing the doctrine worthwhile.

    Off that topic a little bit, brens had brilliant range, and there are stories of brits putting em on single fire and sniping with them, so why have less range than rifles? they have like smg range, give the Brens the same range as a BAR and if an smg for the brits is so important give them a thompson upgrade instead of rifle grenades, theyve already got grenades now anyway. Just my opinion.

    unfortunately SHADOW is pretty much spot on,

    the AI behaviour is not conducive to mixed weapons in a squad, as the squad separate themselves apart when they try to close in to the effective range of their respective weapons.

    until there's a script to force a squad cohesion so they would stop running off at the first chance available and run headlong into bullets, it's quite counterproductive imho as well to give them mixed range weapons.

    @Kat: This is not possible, they Engine only allows one head-over symbol for weapons.

    @Athalus: You better also PM me those suggestions, sometimes they easily get overlooked in a thread like this (or I simply forget it). If you also PM them to me I can take a look at them once I have some time.

    @darkness1990: Unfortunately we always remove older versions from the Server once we have released a new one so people don't get confused with all the little patches. What exact problem do you have in v1.6.0.3. --> "turn the game"?

    I just dl'ed the mod not to long ago here and am loving it so far.

    One question though, I have Version 160, and the update, however I can't seem to get the Multiplayer version anywhere. Where can I find it?

    Multiplayer version was effectively canned; it was too much work doing a single player version and a multiplayer version (the AI is too stupid to put tank crews into the vehicles) so they just went with the single player. The AI's still too stupid to use transports, so the tank commanders are useless for them

    I have no idea, that's not my "department". I suppose you need to change the texture file, that could (??) be located "Blitzkrieg_SP\Data\art\models\races\axis\soldiers\panzergrenadier" (for WM Grens).

    I tried that but i know that's not your department... silly me ... Xalibur has mixed up all the texture files so it's a bit confusing. Panzer grenadiers arn't panzer grenadiers.....

    From what I can tell the skins are 'muddled' because different skins are used for different doctrines; so if you're terror doctrine as the wermarch, your panther's a different skin to the panther if you'd gone defensive doctrine.

    Now if only I could figure out which is which...

    @vonDietz,you need to change it using Corsix...if u know how to use it you can change anything you want...for example...go to ebps and on the panzer elite open the soldiers and then a file called panzer_grenadier.rgd


    Then look for entity_blueprint_ext,find animator and there you need to write the abp. of the skin you want to use for example...if u want your Panzer grenadiers look like the Luftwaffe Ground Forces,then only add "Luftwaffe" but first erase "Pgrenadier"

    my compliments to the Oh-So-GreaT moddeR!!!


    However.. 1 thing that SERIOUSly messes everything up is the lack of manpower throughout causing Unnecessarily long gameplay.. i mean Seriously guys.. everything is TOO CostlY! :@
    You might want to reduce costs.. (or mayb increase Mp rate??
    also could you increase the territory points (munitions/fuel) too? since some unit productions use up all 3 of them.. you always seem to be lacking them.. I mean come on!!! even after capturing more than half of the entire map I still had cost problems!!
    PLZzzzzzzzzzZZ try to fix this in the next update!!!!!!!

    Its not a quick playing game though thats the point, if the maps were bigger it might be ok but if the build up would be too quick if there was more manpower. If you think about all the command abilities as well it wouldnt work. Plus if there was more manpower you wouldnt have to be as careful with your units, if there was more manpower then there would be too many units to play properly with. The whole point of the mod is that your careful with your units, losing a tank or a squad should be a big deal, and you should have more manpower/ammo/fuel to constantly re-enforce because it doesnt reward people that play tactically.

    (When you recovered the Nashorn(sp) with a Btiger you would get a Hummel instead.

    I understand itz all about being able to micro your squads more carefully but damn... u cant just micro 3 or 4 squads only!! u need more to cover/backup/hold territory!
    I basically like to play mostly with infantry but apparently itz always a mad rush to capture most fuelpoints to build up a tank... n once u have a tank "infantry-go-to-hell" scenario... coz u cant get close enough to blow it apart- tank mg is super deadly (just lyk it SHud b)

    so.. i kno u will say just build up an AT to counter it..
    ok/... AT gun destroyed tank.. NOw... the guy who build up a tank is totally frozen coz he spent waY too much resources to build up his tank........ :@

    I am not saying to hav a extremely unrealistic mp boost.. just enough to maintain gameplay without losing the "Fun" factor!
    it really gets boring doing nothing but just to wait for more mP!



    also low/high resource points both seem to hav the same capture rate? (shudnt hav messed with THIS atleast!!) low resource points shud b capturable faster!!!!!!
    and PLzzzZZ increase the points generated!!!!! I ALWAYS hav munitions problem coz they seem to be mixed with Every useful thing you build!! in the end you dont even hav munitions to use your abilities!!!

    The mod is called Blitzkrieg for a reason.

    Use tanks as an armored spearhead to break through enemy lines in support of your infantry. When you use combined arms the tank will protect the infantry and the infantry will protect the tank.

    Personally I think the mod is pretty much perfectly balanced. It rewards using a wide variety of units in unison and punishes armies comprised of only one type of unit.

    Someone please help me out, this is driving me and a friend nuts. I kinda want to avoid a reinstall of the game, so is there any possible fix?

    Failed to load file CoH\Engine\Locale\English\PattenMod.English.ucs due to overlapping range with Blitzkrieg_SP\Locale\English\Blitzkrieg_SP.English.ucs
    -- FATAL EXIT --

    This is the Error, pretty much. The fix is to delete the PattenMod.English.ucs in the \Locale\English right? Problem is, there is no PattenMod.English.ucs.

    I only have the problem with Blitzkrieg, European Theater 1944 and Vanilla works fine. Btw, this happened after I installed "New Enhanced Combat Leader: Beyond Overlord" which totally fubar'd it. I already reinstalled Blitzkrieg but it didn't fix it, I removed the module files and the folder from ECBL, but no go.

    Please, any help?

    @ Snip3r : Just keep practicing. Blitzkreig is really well balanced and fairly realistic as far as COH mods go. As far as I am concerned AT guns are a must in BK, requiring only manpower, being cheap and very effective when camouflaged. Infantry have quite a few options against tanks. Disabling one's engine or tracks helps a lot too.

    Personally I love how some battles can go on for hours.

    if you still have the "New Enhanced Combat Leader: Beyond Overlord" original files, then i'd suggest you start backtracking and removing it's files, or if it comes with an uninstaller then it's time to remove it.

    you said it yourself that it all started when you installed it, judging from the message i'd hazard a guess that the ucs number overlaps between Blitzkrieg and Beyond Overlord.

    so you removed the Blitz files and reinstalled it, but that does nothing because the ucs number still overlaps (the number does not change so if the 2 mods are incompatible with one another due to it then they will remain so regardless of how many times you reinstall them) if i am to make a guess so when u reinstalled it, the same problem repeats.

    if you want to fix it then naturally you gotta remove the other one, else reinstalling Blitz does nothing as you'd just keep smacked into the same problem. Which means you gotta choose, Blitz... or Beyond Overlord, at least that's how i see it and remove the one you don't want.

    yea Sniper you'll get better with Blitzkrieg like me, i used to not like the tank battles cos i thought the germans had OP Tanks, but once you learn that the dredded Jagdtiger can be disabled with 3 Sticky bombs and then rush it with AT infantry, you'll turn the tide of your gaming Experience, oh yea and please take care with your writing, some people who dont speak good english wont understand

    and about the munitions, why dont you just go for the Stuff you need the most, for instance, i know the AP Rounds cost about 150 Munition, but then just build tanks which have the powerful gun,

    btw does anyone else get quick battles, i never manage to get all the Commander points in a single match, the AI takes most of my kills and rushes the Bases, anyone else get this??

    Thanks for the reply. No, it doesn't seem to come with an uninstaller, but I removed the .module files and the main ECLb folder, is there anything else I need to remove? Because even after that AND reinstalling Blitz, it still won't work. And as I said, the Relic .ucs is the only file in the Locals folder, I even deleted it and 'redownloaded' that file through Steam. I know Steam isn't the problem though, my friend has the disc version, still doesn't work.

    dude the EXACT same thing happened to me too!!
    and if i seem to remember.. right after i deleted my Eclb mod.. all other mods have been messed up because of this
    anyway.. since the patten.ucs file is of the Pofia mod
    what i did was to move it somewhere else whenever i wanted to play some other mod as put it back it the local/english folder if i wanted to play pofia...
    In your case like you say you dont have any file except the relic.ucs there..


    dunno mayb you should try reinstalling/repairing the pofia mod? it might fix the problem!


    coz I am pretty sure that pofia DoesNOT mess up the other mods.. everything worked perfectly fine until i installed EClb *sigh*

    ohh n xalibar... PlzzZZ could you post an UPdater instead of Full installer??
    I dont really hav the worlds most dreadful internet connection but mine certainly falls in its top 100!
    its kinda hard to download 604 mb!
    God knows how much i had to sweat my pc hours to download the original blitzkrieg mod!
    an update would have been a lot better for us poor souls
