Is it just me, or does it look like the name changes depending on what upgrades are selected? It looks like it if you compare the photos.

No. In the pictures, you can see a Design tab in the same area as the Research, Build, and Launch menus.
I really like this mod because it is similar to the idea I posted to Behgins about an ultra complex mod where the ships are built as chassis and the player would have to build the weapons and systems onto it.
That way you would have to guard newly built ships because they would have no way of defending themselves.
fxmod9ccn would you allow players to build their mods using your mod as a platform ?
I would like to use this in one of my mods since my ships have large numbers of weapons system on them.

Very impressive! I'm looking forward to this new feature. If you can really code something like that then it is outstanding good. That would bring Hw2 to a new horizon.
I hope how ever that you won't focus totally on this. Better you fix all the bugs and remaining tasks for your fantastic FX mod first. As you can imagine i'm a huge fan of your FX mod. So i wish that primary.

-More Balance between the races
-you said you broke the race limit.. Give us the remaining races if possible it would be cool.
-Fix the ingame Start locaction bug.
-Fix the Battlemissions so that they are playable + the grammar.
-Fix the missing names on kadesh etc ($$$$ signs).
-Fix your awesome Tutorial mission (Crash to desktop) at the moment.
-Fix the Vaygr defence frigate (isn't working at the moment).

Heh, this is gonna be way better than FX. FX is just a mod. This... this is an advancement in the capabilities of the game. I like FX, but this is just... awesome! Concentrate on this, man, please (but don't forget about FX)!
Are the ship specs chosen at anytime, or only once?

Yeah, the name changes. That's why it says "Light Heavy Armor Anti-Air Destroyer" when "Light" engine, "Heavy" armor, and Quad "Anti-Air" Guns on a "Destroyer" Chassis. It's pretty easy to put together if you think about it enough.
Looks like a nice level of different weapon loadouts available for the interceptor...

I'm curious how you're working around the UI/Gametype scope problem. Typically, the UI scope doesn't mesh to well with the Gametype scope, and sharing data between the two can be a real pain. How are you saving the new designs? Is this just really clever usage of "hidden" research items? As I said, I'm just curious. Keep it up!

This is amazing but simple, all it is, is a extra ui panel, all ships have build capabilities, and research then you add icons to the panel that build weapons Armour engines ......
this is actually rather impressive, it reminds me of the old days of battlezone and such keep up the good work mate

Looks great, i always wanted to be able to customize my fleets for special purposes, just add missile launchers for the destroyers .

How did you get an oblong defense shield? That's awesome! I take it the ships are designed before they are built, right? That is certainly a first. I can't wait to play this!

Yes this is incredible, that third gun for the vette looks familiar....
Blaze that gun was one of the main defence guns for sajuuk, and i can't imagine sajuuk weapon on a regular corvett!

It's a scaled-down version of the the heavy plasma turret of the Progenitor Dreadnough
Guess it would be colled something like 'plasma corvette', and it would fit the role of an anti-capital corvette ^^
Anyway, that mod is very impressive, can't wait to play with it
