It is possible to make Fx, in the beginning a hole small, but towards the end of animation becomes more.

The death animation is appropriate, considering that daemons don't "die", they disincorporate, dissipate, whatever. Similar to Relic's Bloodthirster, where he roars and basically is sucked down into the ground/warp. Did you mention Max kept crashing when trying to rig or animate? We should talk on Skype on that but generally Spawns are Warp Beasts so anything "animal-like" with all those protrusions being used to attack and mouths with tongues should move like some sort of mutated animal. We can discuss.

I'm sure if you asked all the vet modders here you'll understand things regrettably take time although yes alot of the work was complete in mid '09 but since then we've been on-hold with 3d issues for units and buildings BUT now I believe we're coming out of that. With the next internal build now imminent, they can quickly move forward to fill in all the gaps left open for years and we can then deliver something solid. Voices are in the pipe-line also which will add considerable dimension to this superb Chaos chapter.
Man, Thud, I am longing for this more than what Ive longed for most before this thing. Like I said, by some miracle shift in the fabric of time and space, that influenced the worldview and reasoning of the guys at wORCkshop and everyone in some way connected to them.
NOBODY has brought out anything decent regarding the thousand sons, even though they had all the reason and resources, not for DOW not for DOW II, could have at least made a mod or skinpack that makes Chaos marines look like the Rubric FoK models, (And I think yours look MUCH better, because theirs look kinda silly in some way, maybe the head is too big and reminds of a bulldog) but no. Do you know how hard it was to find the simple Oraboras (Serpent chaseing its tale) symbol for the dow badge? HARD, though you could find a badge for anything thinkable and not, other than the TS symbol. I know I sound like a pregnant woman but I need a shoulder, please make it happen, you guys are working on the most decent work to do with this best of all the legions.

That was Shin's team work back then however both Tzeentch and Slaanesh have such mutated warp spawns in their armies so they have use of their own types using this model. In Thousand Sons, Spawns are used and deployed quite differently than in an Emperors Children one. These look great. What's the model/texture/animation status of the buildings?
3 more Tzeentch buildings to texture. Turret is one of those but a cinch to do. Half of them have animations but may be re-done we'll see. We REALLY need an FX artist for the buildings to do some glows and particles during events like idle, build research, build unit, build addon, attack (for LPs and turrets), and die. Usual stuff. Getting the buildings all textured is a HUGE DEAL as DrGrim's amazing models have been sitting idle since late '09. Now we feel we're progressing nicely.
Seriously guys, you need a campaign, because without one people will download your mod, lots of people, will send you lots of thankyou letters, but what then? Then they'l play a vew games on the same old maps in the same old style, just as dozens other "cool mods", with statistics and graphic differences, on "meeting of minds" or "blood river"
look at the textures, n thats it, enthusiasm out. Its not like girls looking at new dresses, Skirmish games in DOW 1 aren't getting any newer. So, a few maps and thats it. All the work you've done is worth more attention than that, think about it, lets say "Deamonhunters mod", what did you do with it? you installed it, looked at it and erased it, was it worth the effort? Realy?
BUT guys, BUT, IF you bring the mod about with a CAMPAIGN, THEN, And Im afraid ONLY THEN, will people be able to realy taste and realy SEE and appreciate what you've worked on. They'l be able to feel the atmosphere, they'l breathe with your mod, worship it, that, is going to SO much elevate your work, yes, that way the mod is going to stick, and turn into legend. And make it like a DOW I campaign, one race, one story. DC Total war style is going to turn it into another skirmish and thats it, no atmosphere, you need a packing story, like in DOW I but no parralels, something enlierly frsh, dark and epic, with sense, no sumon a deamon or find a magic something, something better, something worth it.

Rule #1 of Modding - WE DO THIS FOR FREE, WE HAVE LIVES OUTSIDE OF MODDING (MAJOR LIVES), TIME IS NOT ALWAYS DISPOSABLE.
Like I said... Campaign takes ALOT of effort to build and we're not yet done the MP/Skirmish component which, quite frankly, is 10x more important to a mod than linear progression. Campaigns are fine for story tellers or 'game on rails" gameplay but in the end we want replayability and a new experience each time you play our mods.
If we have time, maybe, but come on thats not REMOTELY "in scope" when TSons has been in dev since '05. Beggers cannot REMOTELY be choosers.
Look into unpaid modding sometimes.. you'll find its VERY hard to coordinate especially when RL, family, career, etc don't pay you to mod.
new experience? with a dow skirmish? are you serious? Im not saying, do it over night. But since youve started, don't you want to best everybody else? RL is there, but you can make that campaign happen, skirmish is still gona be, and a series of cinematics and made maps is much easier than what you do right now, and its worth it, its worth it THUD.
Your speeches is not going to make the modders reflect upon their lives and inspire them to go where no modder has gone before, because when you're there it's a lot of work, and that work is not going to get done by itself. Most modders would actually want to get on with it so they can actually enjoy what they've done or just move on with their lives. It's already a miracle a 6-year-old mod is getting stronger after all the poor souls it has claimed. Color me amazed if I ever get to play a beta of this.
I couldn't care less about a campaign. I'd rather play with thousands sons a thousand times on Emerald River with all the other full-race mods than continue beating the crap of the mod team just to see the misadventures of Ahriman & Co.
I wouldn't mind it at all if doing custom scenarios in DoW was as easy as in...pretty much every other major RTS ever, but life is not always fair.
Now that I think about it, have you guys in this mod worked out the UI strings things to make this mod compatible with the rest? (like the NoRange $number thing that appears when there's a conflict) What about the
Genrich, people sure have a greater attention span than what you believe. If you generalise such a sparrow's attention from what you expect to do with the mod, i can but feel sorry for the use it'll be made of. A few maps' play certainly isn't enough to taste and appreciate all the subtleties of a full faction mod, especially this one with all the details that have been poured in (and i don't mean graphics only, a truly well-wrought mod is so much more beyond that!)
Besides, as Thud said (and don't i know it too), modding a new faction takes loads of time, mainly for the fun of it and the satisfaction to see that what was only concepts and loose ends has taken shape and feels achieved when all's said and done, even if -extra sugar on top- the end product may ravish all the awaiting player-/fan-base. But certainly not to "best everybody else", which would be really childish and pointless.
Add to that the fact that creating a campaign from scratch isn't easy as pie and would take even a greater toll on what free-time modders have... unless you would like the TS to be included in the generic campaign, which would then be a poor reheated meal (but from what your logorrhea implies, it's not the case). As we used to say a coupla years ago, if you want to see extras a mod team has no time yet to do, then spit in your hands and get on the treadmill! If you're not ready to, then don't act spoiled, stop demanding and see what happens.
@TS team: sorry to so pour in here and slightly derive this thread but comes a point when appreciation has to be seriously upheld, if possible RAEG-free.

@Genrich -- d00d man you are overstepping a little. Might as well ask for a Death Guard, Emperors Children, Iron Warriors, Word Bearers, World Eaters etc etc Campaigns also. Try out Adv. modding in DoW1 or any PC game FOR JUST A SINGLE MOD, and see how long it takes to do anything, then multiply that by 20+ mods, then add coordinating voice scripting AND acting logistics, then have a wife, 2 kids, house, mortgage, high paying but stressful contract = Then you understand a SMALL snippet of what modding entails.
@ RMX - err. whats the issue with the current TSons build at the UCS? No issues man. None since, well, a long time. TSons has had its reserved UCS list since '05.

Yeah Genrich, where the rubber meets the road, if you want to design the Tzeentch-approved campaign then you can help out design it from the ground up but do you know how the entire DoW1 campaign workflow goes? I don't entirely nor is that in-focus for me or the team currently. We're trying to complete the Skirmish/MP piece first.

I'm currently in the process of replacing SoB on Black Templars race in Kaurava SP Campaign. Nothing extraordinary is required, because main "storyline" is unchanged (9 races are fight against each other), but due to replacement, I need to change some texts, territory descriptions and so on. Also I need once again to explain, why BT fight against BR and PDF forces (Something about BR corruption, like we can see now in DoW2 Chaos Rising). ...But cause I'm from Russia, I don't able to wright a good quality English texts myself. Your help will be much appreciated.
Obviously Genrich is an agent of Tzeentch come to incite the mod team, although it is not working. I can hear a voice going "Just as planned!" somewhere in my head.
Anyways, modding is hard. I've attempted to dabble in just editing the stats of units and already I have major headaches.

To Andrei355, makeing a map, im not shure but i guess if I start learning from 0, by the time i make a map that is good enough, itl be the distant future, I managed to make some Rubric marines from fok mod, to run about on my screen in skirmish, by deleating their requirements section (as a good soul advised me to do, because their squad cap was limited to 2) in corsix mod studio while edditing SS enhanced mod, n I can change standard campaign colours thanks to Kronoch, but thats as far as "Im a modder" goes. But, ive got more than a long toungue, if your serious and willing to mentor, my question is, Got a good tutorial n an at least approximate list of things to do which will be useful to the mod?
