Weird error in the World Builder.

So I'm a new modder. I installed COH, got all the patches installed up to 2.1, and started up the World Builder. I go to make a new map, set the size, click "Ok" and I get an error that says "Failed to create the render window." followed by "Could not initialize remaining engine features." If I try to create a new map again, I get an illegal error and worldbuilder closes.

Anyone have any idea what I can do? I'm kinda working under a deadline for school...

It should be noted that if I try to open newscenario.sgb, the same thing happens.

Sounds like a buggy install.. I had a few of those. Bad part is, if you want to reinstall WB it means reinstalling the whole game. Normally I'd say it could be the map, but since it also happens with empty, new maps my guess is that your WB is messed up.
But maybe, maybe someone will tell me I am wrong..
    Now thát's a Knight's Cross.

i think there might be a problem with your cd that the WB files are damaged on the disc.
    but i'm not sure.

    something is not right.
it's saying something about render window.

GeForce 8400 GS 512 MB. I think I've got the most recent drivers installed. That's why I was so confused about this.

Heres a thought, I used to get that when I had to many things open, eg. modstudio, webpages, other maps opened in other windows of worldbuilder. I think my problem was caused by excessive compulsion of having everything open at once for easier work, but obviously my comp could only handle so much and after so many windows of w/builder open it would also give me this error, so all I can say to help is if your doing what I did maybe this is the cause, but it should atleast open 1 window of w/b

Maby you could post a picture of the error window?
    That could help.

Okay, so those are the two error messages I get, as well as the debug window. Happens even if I close all other non-essential programs.

I'm gonna try uninstalling and reinstalling and then patching incrementally instead of just using the 1-1.4 and 1.4-2.1 bulk patches that I downloaded from relic.

nevermind, can't do that. guess I'll just re-download the patches. maybe there was some problem there.

I vaguely remember having that error and it had something to do with my graphics driver settings, such as antialiasing or transparency antialiasing being forced on something.

Okay. I'm still downloading the patch, but while it's going i'm gonna reinstall my video card drivers.

what if you would go to budget>Detail Level> and would lower it a bit?
it might turn the anti allias off then.

Ohh, I see I had those errors a while back too. It means some of your files are screwed up. In your case, reïnstalling won't help, because it's probably an error on the dvd. I could upload all the worldbuilder files that are untouched, and then it should work.

    download will come here soon.
