By "sandbags" I mean the force field thingy that they put down to give them green cover.

Do you ever use it? Why or why not? Do you worry about the enemy using the green cover against you? Or does the cover only work on the concave side of the force field? Is the cover just like regular green cover, or is it better?

All comments welcome. I'm just curious about this skill because it doesn't seem to be getting much use.

    *EDIT*

Someone on the GR forums told me that they're NOT like sandbags... that rather they block ALL incoming damage until their HP runs out. Well that makes the much more useful, eh?

I use it all the time, it's great for digging in to a VP position. This is especially true late game when a lot of the cover that is built into the map has been destroyed by vehicles and such.

Unlike all the other forumites, I will actually tell you that I'm from the UK.
Do they work for blocking melee?

    @ Noble:

    Good point.

One other thing... do you guys just make one or do you make sort of a V shape with 2 force fields in order to make them less vulnerable to fire from the side?

I suppose it would be viable to stagger the forcefields in a way to cause oncoming melee units to take the long route to your Gu.

usually use them when I've got nothing better to do. They're fast and free so no point in not using them, but you have to set them up next to some kind of existing cover because they go down very fast and then your guardians are stuck out in the open. It's hardly a good melee shield, takes about half a second for melee units to walk around it.
